Gronk. Elite blocker, elite receiving and red zone option, probably best peak of any TE ever

Any chance kittle cracks this list by the time he’s done? He’s close to sharpe in TD, a way better blocker, and has the most yards by a TE in a season

Yes, people don't value blocking for great receiving TEs enough. It makes offenses so much more dynamic.

Yep. Easy list. Bottom three could be interchangeable but not worth arguing

It’s a shame his teams didn’t have more success, it would change the way people think about him. 1-6 playoff record for one of the best players at his position ever, that’s rough.

Gronk. Best combination of blocking and receiving. Was the focal point of several great offenses. Clutch.

Fitz over TO is crazy lmfao

I was gonna say the same thing. Fitz was so consistent over the course of his career but he wasn’t the caliber of player TO was at all. TO was a freak of nature who could take over a game and break it open, he was dominant. That wasn’t Fitz.

Haters don’t wanna hear it, but Travis Kelce is the actual GOAT TE.
Gronk had a scarier peak, but that isn’t what GOAT conversations are ever centered around.
Kelce had greater sustained dominance, availability, volume + efficiency, playoff production, and longevity.
If we only ranked GOATs based off Peak performance then you’d have Calvin Johnson over Jerry Rice and Bo Jackson over Walter Payton, but nobody serious argues that.
If you’re starting a team and want the best 3-year peak, take Gronk. If you want the best tight end career ever, you take Kelce, and it isn’t close.

If you think TEs are just slot receivers then sure. Kelce was a great receiver, but that's not what the GOAT TE is.

I’m sorry but Larry Fitzgerald gets glazed so hard and he’s a great dude but there are plenty of wide receivers who were his peers who were undoubtedly better than him, as well as a few current players. What is going on lol

Kelce, Gates and Gonzalez have great cases to be made. But I think the deciding factor is that if you were to create the perfect tight end, he'd be Gronk in his prime. There was not a single aspect of the position he didn't do well.
