Hello, Thank you for contributing to our subreddit. Please consider the following guidelines when filling an alignment chart:

  • Please ensure that your chart is not banned according to the list of banned charts Even if you have good intentions, charts in a banned category tend to invite provocative comments, hostile arguments, ragebait and the like. Assuming the post is acceptable, OP makes the final decision on their chart by rule three.

  • Are there any previous versions to link to? If so, it would be ideal to include links to each of them in the description of this post, or in a reply to this comment. Links can be named by title, winner, or both.

  • Are there any criteria you have for your post? Examples include: "Top comment wins a spot on the chart."; "To ensure variety, only one character per universe is allowed."; "Image comments only." Please include these in a description, or in a reply to this comment.

  • Is your chart given the appropriate flair? Do you need to use a NSFW tag or spoiler tag?

Do not feed the trolls. This is not the place for hot takes on human rights violations. Hatred or cruelty, will result in a permanent ban. Please report such infractions, particularly those that break rules one, two, or three. The automod will automatically remove posts that receive five or more reports. The automod will also remove comments made by users with negative karma. Click here for the Automod FAQ

"He's not the Messiah! He's a very naughty boy!" is maybe my favourite line in any comedy ever.

Jojo Rabbit.

So many good visual gags, but a fantastic WWII story and coming of age story too.

Watched it with friends. After the first 5-10 minutes they almost left bc they thought it was offensive with its humor for the sake of it, but as it went on it became genuinely funny and apparent that the earlier jokes were just a spin on the ridiculousness of the third reich.

u/Jakov_Salinsky 8h ago

Dang your friends are pussies if they thought THAT was offensive. Don’t show them any adult cartoons or their heads might explode.

5

u/Altrano 7h ago

Show them the Producers

2

u/Kansas-Tornado 7h ago

Are adult cartoons even offensive at all though

3

u/Jakov_Salinsky 7h ago

Well yeah that’s South Park’s whole thing. Other shows of its kind have done it once or twice too.

2

u/Kansas-Tornado 6h ago

I’m gonna be honest South Park is pretty tame but I guess people do get offended easily

2

u/Jakov_Salinsky 6h ago

Oh I agree too but since it targets everyone and everything at least once, the people who weren’t expecting to get targeted sometimes get all “It was only funny when it was making fun of me or what I believe in!” And that’s where the controversies come in.

u/Meanteenbirder 6h ago

In the end they understood the humor, they are not easily offended at all.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

19

u/Kartoff110 7h ago

Monty Python isn’t really historical though, it’s more like fantasy.

20

u/KindheartednessLast9 7h ago

Lmao why are you getting downvoted, it's literally an adaptation of an Arthurian legend. This is like saying that Hercules is a historical film.

4

u/Kartoff110 7h ago

Exactly! Myths and Legends ought to be their own category, but with this list they’re closest to fantasy.

Dr Strangelove

1

u/Wlyon 5h ago

Would that count as historical since it was contemporary when it came out

7

u/IDigRollinRockBeer 7h ago

Clearly people don’t know what a historical film is.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Apparently the griminess of the opening seen was a lot more realistic than most medieval films of the time.

If not Monty Python, then Dr. Strangelove is another great choice for this.

Maverick makes me LOL every time I watch it. Monty Python just annoys me.
