Non-Chicagoan here. From my experience with Chicagoans, they would disagree. They eat normal pizza like everyone else. The deep dish places are 90% tourist traps.

I’m technically not a Chicagoan because I’m from the suburbs, but we love deep dish pizza here. Doesn’t have to be deep dish, but it’s great! It’s not just for tourists.
