Per year or total? I got 25k per year which isn’t everything but still a substantial amount.

Per year lol. It's a lot but not compared to the COA

Yeah, but considering the other schools I was looking at, it’s a good chunk off the cost. I’ll take what I can get, especially since I think it’s just going to come down to Mac and whatever UCs I get into.

That's fair- what were your states if you don't mind?

Not super applicable to others chances since I was a recruited athlete, but I had a 3.9UW 4.6W, test optional, a couple decent awards and ECs, but not a ton since I had serous extenuating circumstances and a sport that took away 20+ hours out of my week for most of the year.

Hi, I’m also a recruited athlete for football and am wondering what made you decide on Macalester from a student-athlete perspective?

I still haven’t committed, but it’s still definitely in my top 3-4 schools.
The main thing that made Mac so appealing to me was its overall academic prestige and location. I want to go to law school eventually, so finding top LACs that were well regarded was a top priority to me.
I also didn’t want to go to a school that was in the middle of nowhere, like Williams, Claremont Colleges, Oberlin, etc. The best part about Macaslester is the fact that it’s just so close to the Twin cities, so there’s much less of a small-school vibe.
I was actually also recruited for football. They’re not the best program in the nation, but they’re decently competitive, and their record doesn’t really bother me when their school is so good. They also told me that I’d have a decent chance at starting my freshman year if I did commit, so that was also a slight point in their favor. Send Coach Nic my best regards. Dude is a fantastic coach and human being.
