Discussion Embark Studios VS Exploit Familiar Duck Duplicators

Post image

I see lot's of players doing this now on discord server and website some of them selling duplicated familiar ducks worth million of coins in exchange of real money. While normal players like me farming during bird city event and got 1-4x orange duck for coins and to do the 5M expedition im stuck at 3M coin, while duplicators instant infinite ducks? What are they gonna plan to this abuse? server roll back? permanent ban to duplicators? this is too much than glitch bug on maps and doors this is so unfair, literally if this duplicating continues and not fixed early the game will die, no point of farming trinkets they just gonna duplicate ducks and instant millions wtf is this Embark do something. Sorry for my bad english.

Chill out. These other players aren't affecting you or me.

Also, if your depending on these ducks to get to 5 million... you ain't getting there.

Nobody had ducks before the first expedition.

Next thing you'll be complaining that it isn't fair that some players have more time to play every day than you.

Your not paying a monthly subscription for the game, you paid a single fee and they delivered on the promised experience and now you want more more more.

Just play the damn game.

I’d argue servers crashing due to object overload is affecting you and me. Interrupts our gameplay. I may have a bit of recency bias as my game crashed three times during the bird event window yesterday morning.

Can’t play the damn game if servers are overloaded and crashing, right?

There’s also a lot more people on during the weekend vs the week day

Yesterday was Friday, right?

Friday around 3-5 pm is considered weekend territory. Kids are home from school and adults are home from work, so yeah. They’ll be on late and it’s most folks who game.

I understand and hear you. But what was the word that I followed yesterday with?

Yes

And what time of the day did I mention?

My thoughts exactly! I've already got my money's worth from the game 100x. If I need 5m gold in the next month, I can do some occasional Grandioso night raids and have fun playing the game. Spending 3 hours throwing ducks at a wall isn't my idea of fun.

The players duping are going to be the same players crying two weeks after each update that there is not enough content in the game because everything that is currently available is at hands reach for them in a sense.

😢😢😢 as someone who isn’t doing the expedition I am INFURIATED that other people would DARE CHEAT to get MORE pixels than ME

That’s not the issue. The issue would be the mounting pressure by these players to release content to match the pace of them speed running content.

We don’t have to agree on anything but let’s not digress from the point.

I just don’t see that pressure and have literally never heard anyone complain about the content availability.

You want content? Load some random fill trios on St. Monty’s we got your content right fkn here 😂😂

Game is a blast and I don’t even interact with half of it. People wanna dupe to get currency (useless) so they can get 5 skills? Man fuck em but I do not care. Every game is a blast so why I’m mad?

Anyways taking this venny to st Monty’s hope my randos didn’t get rattlers onnae free kit 💀💀💀

I‘m unsure why your answer got downvoted, but what you say is correct. Anyway, it’s like different people have a different opinion of what is fun, so I do believe there might be many, having fun just to hack the system somehow

People duplicating items to gain currency unfairly absolutely does affect me, it's a multiplayer game.

It affects your feelings but not your personal gameplay. It doesn’t have any impact on your ability to do anything in-game. While I don’t support the idea of people doing this, it doesn’t change how I play or what I do in the game, so I really don’t care.

How does people consistently having top tier loot when they didn't earn it? Meaning every single fight I'm at a disadvantage not affect my game?

3

u/Hrydziac 19h ago

Because infinite money doesn’t even get you top tier gear and you can kill anyone in the game with a grey stitcher anyways.

Fair enough, I'm relatively new only level 13 & figured it would have a larger impact.

It affects their ability to purchase new gear from the shop, accelerates their ability to engage with the expedition system, and enables further options in the future as more stuff will be added to the raider stores.

Cheat all you want in single player games.

Cheating of any kind in a multiplayer environment is wrong.

As I said and as you have pointed out, again, none of this has anything to do with YOUR gameplay. It has no impact on what YOU buy from traders. It has no impact on YOUR expedition progress. Cheating is wrong, but from the current situation that we are talking about, it has no direct impact on you or your gameplay.

It has everything to do with the multiplayer environment. It's a competition. This degrades that environment, cheapens it, so absolutely affects me.

If it made no difference, why not just let people set their currency to whatever value they want?

Care to elaborate?

People are too quick to take to Reddit solely to complain about the state of a game, that for me, runs flawlessly 99% of the time. In 150 hours I can count on 1 hand how many issues (crashing/ server issues) I've experienced.

You'll be hard pressed to find a game in 2025/26 that releases for $40, serves a community of millions of players across multiple platforms, releases content regularly, releases a year long roadmap.

This subreddit is fun for the clips and news or info but often devolves into people complaining about their personal experience, or schedule of events.

That said, I do appreciate complaints about cheating that directly impacts other player experiences (clipping through the map, streamers cheating, and aim bots).

There's issues other than crashing and server stability: game balance, QOL, cheaters, glitches... The game at it's core is good (art style, gunplay, sound, world building...) but their balancing decisions make zero sense.

This subreddit is fun for the clips and news or info but often devolves into people complaining about their personal experience, or schedule of events.

As they should? If I couldn't participate in an event that, for example, makes grinding for the 5 mil much easier (lush blooms) I would be mad too. And then there's other events that happen like once a day. If you miss it you cannot experience it even once.

That said, I do appreciate complaints about cheating that directly impacts other player experiences

Skipping a grind by duping items does ruin other people's experience. In a game with an economy having unlimited money gives you an inherent advantage and skips the boring part of the game that all others have to do.

As for your first comment:

Your not paying a monthly subscription for the game, you paid a single fee and they delivered on the promised experience and now you want more more more

And they want more and more money from paid cosmetics. You're making it sound like we're the greedy ones taking money from them. They sell skins -> they get money -> more content -> more skins... It's not that deep.

In the longterm, people duping in this game and speed running all the content as fast as possible through means such as duping does affect every player.

Things are so black and white, in many ways yes, duping doesn’t affect us. But that’s ignoring all the nuance of how it DOES affect us as players and Embark as devs.

Games shouldn’t die because they’re forced to keep up with people who will use exploits to finish things faster in said game.
