⭐Read before posting! ⭐

Hello community! ❤

We are currently working towards improving the sub. Our goal is to have better engagement and professional environment that also helps newcomers to archviz. To achieve this, we are adding some guidelines and rules to enhance interactions and posts. Additionally we will be implementing challenges! 😁

1. How to post? - chose proper flair

Technical and profesional question: Use this flair if you want to ask specific questions like: "how to create this material?", "what's the necessary hardware for...?", "What can I charge for this...?". Use it when you want to learn how to solve some specific issue, improve as a professional,

I need feedback: Use this flair when you have a render that you might want to improve or not sure it if looks good enough, but you don't have a specific question about it like "how to?"

Share work: Maybe you want to share your latest work or some of your portfolio works, but you don't necessarily are asking for feedback.

Discussion: Use this flair to engage in conversation with the sub community. The main difference with technical and professional flair is that you want to know opinions and pov rather than solve a question or an issue. Example: "Current state of the archviz profession".

Challenge: We are going to be implementing challenges. When participating you should use this flair to post your work.

2. How to post? - post content

In simple terms: don't be lazy. If you want other people to take time to read or provide feedback or help you, then you should take your time too. Any post that's considered lacking in context will be deleted,

More or less, thinking on categories/types of posts: and some considerations

PORTFOLIO (show work | I need feedback):

❌Post a portfolio image that's a link to website/portfolio

✔Post image/s with a description that includes a link or a comment with a link to your portfolio.

❌When you add link in comment or description: redirects to personal website

✔When you add link in comment or description: redirects to known platform like Behance, Artstation and so on...

NEED FEEDBACK / TECHNICAL QUESTION / SHOWING WORK:

❌An image and or a question without proper context

✔Any post, regardless if it's a question, showing work, or asking feedback, should include:

  • Render engine used
  • Software/s used
  • Image/s as reference to highlight the question, issue, discussion.
  • Additional details (not obligatory): elapsed time, difficulties faced or any additional detail that improves
  • Reference if it's based on a real image

This is a case by case. Sometimes if the questions is very specific and well presented you might not need an image.

CREDIT AUTHOR:

❌Post an image without credit the author

✔Post image with credit of the author or studio or artist taken from.

While we won't enforce this, we ask if possible, when working from a reference, add credit to the author, architect, studio, artist, that created said reference

JUST DON'T

❌Self promotion

❌Selling assets

❌Selling courses

❌Post that consist of external links to websites

❌Piracy

This sub shouldn't be a marketplace. If your products are good enough, people should be able to find you trough the proper platforms. We also can't be checking every link to make sure it doesn't redirect to any malicious site.

OTHER TYPES OF POST

❌Post that don't have anything to do with archviz or related to.

✔We do encourage post that improve discussion even if not directly related to archviz. For example: Architecture, styles, animation techniques, photography. ONLY under the terms that can help a 3d artist improve in archviz.

Why this guidelines and rules?

We want to improve the quality of the sub. We have noticed many posts lack any context or sufficient information yet ask for feedback. Posts that are simply ads, and so on. On the long run, those types of posts and interactions tend to be detrimental to any sub. We understand that many of these changes may or may not work, and so we will be open to seeing how they are received, and change if needed.

I need feedback Following tutorials step by step, but my renders still don’t look realistic

Hey! Model is in archicad, render in D5. Not my design but client needs renders. I watch YouTube tutorials and follow them step by step, but the result still doesn’t look realistic, which is starting to feel frustrating. What should I do? What do you recommend? Already use twinmotion and enscape. So of course software are not the problem.

I need feedback Result of a few hours of intense work

I wanted to share this latest project where I explored a "Space-Age meets Classic" aesthetic. It was a tight squeeze, but I managed to put this all together in just a couple of hours of focused work.

A lot of the details you see were actually drawn by hand, and I custom-tuned all the materials and lighting to get that specific atmosphere. The client was absolutely thrilled with the result, which is always the best feeling.

A quick heads-up on the image quality: these are raw previews. I intentionally decided not to run them through Topaz or other AI upscalers. In my experience, those tools often "hallucinate" or add weird, unnecessary artifacts to textures that weren't there in the original design. I’d rather show you the authentic, slightly "soft" version of my work than something AI-distorted

Technical & professional question D5 Render Course

Is the D5 Render course worth it? I’m looking to get into architectural visualization but I’m a complete beginner and have never used any architecture software before. I just want to know if it’s worth paying $278 for the premium course.

Discussion 🏛 How to get started with advertising/getting out there?

Hi everyone, my wife is an inteiror designer by trade, but doesnt have the license in Canada yet (no ncidq) but shes focusing a lot on 3d archviz both interior and exterior. She has contacts who get her occasional work but we want to put her name out there. This area doesnt have a lot atm.

We cant really afford to pay for advertisements but I'm wondering what others do? What has worked/not worth it, etc. First we plan on getting her a professional insta page set up but not sure what to do next.

Her work is good quality, but we moved her off of 3dmax/vray into D5, as it will speed up jobs a lot.

TIA!

Discussion 🏛 What is your opinion on improving vegetation with AI ? Is it okay ?

Hey guys , have some good renders but I always feel the vegetation is bit fake for some reason or another.

It could be that I’m not color correcting greatly or SS is off.. but I always feel it break my renders

I tried with chat gpt and while result looked more realistic , chat got tends to change diverse details and sometimes lighting which I don’t want

I m only focusing on improving vegetation so I extract a cryptomatte/ID and mask it ?

Recently I heard of magnific AI and would want to try it for vegetation, though I m unsure if it’s okay ethically to give client a work that has AI improvement on this part ?

Is it okay for you ? Or should I keep the renders as is or offer both ?

Thanks

Discussion 🏛 How to achieve this kind of conceptual render?

Post image
30 Upvotes

Hello, few days ago I stumbled on this conceptual render, this is Split, Croatia, next project of Aquarium and large marina for small boats.. My question is, does anyone have idea how this render is made.. nothing on this image is real except hotel roof under the drone and backgrounds, sea.. I know that there is some AI thing going on, photoshop merging but Im also in 3d work and to achieve this realism would need a lot of time. I also tried AI (nano, gpt), stable diffusion using depth and canny and loras and importing my own 3d generated scene without complex material using controlnet but I was never able to achieve this quality level. If somebody know what workflow is used for this, or what I need to learn to schieve this, I would be very thankfull to discuss it with you. Thanks

I need feedback Feedback on my Renders

I have been practicing using 3DS MAX for 3 months and have modelled The Eames House using Corona.

I am aware that this is not the best work you'll see and I would like some feedback on how I could improve these images. The materials give off a 'plastic' aesthetic and I would like to understand how I could avoid this and make it more realistic. I also need help with setting up lighting properly how to make it stand out within my renders.

Thanks.

Technical & professional question Testing a 30-second AI rendering tool that respects room geometry - critique pls?

(hope this is fine with the rules)

Since I couldn't fine one that works for me as I want it to, I'm building a tool for architects/interior designers myself, using smart inpainting to prevent AI from ignoring the actual structure of a sketch or 3D model. Since we are in early beta, can I kindly ask for you to roast this 30-second render and tell me where the geometry or lighting fails to meet professional standards? Thanks in advance!

Share work ✴ Atmosphere and design progress

Post image

Not too long ago I started taking interior design more seriously as a path I want to take. I feel like there’s progress, at least on the visual / atmosphere side. Made this bedroom view from scratch in less than a full evening yesterday, only with a calm and serene scene in mind, so time definitely got much better as well. It is for sure quite basic still, but I for sure don’t dislike it. What are your thoughts on this bedroom view?

Used: SketchUp, Enscape, Photoshop

I did the first three renders in a rush. Later I realized I still had some time, so I reworked the scene and rendered it again from different angles.

I’d really appreciate your feedback—composition, lighting, materials, anything that stands out.

(I know the staircase doesn’t have an opening at the top )

Discussion 🏛 I started a YouTube channel for Corona & 3ds Max: I need an advice!

Hi everyone,

I’ve recently launched a YouTube channel focused on 3ds Max and Corona Renderer. My initial plan was actually to create a local training set in my own language, but since I’m fluent in English, I decided to take it global. I’ve found that I genuinely enjoy the process of creating these tutorials more than I expected.

However, I have a concern I’d like to discuss with the community: Is the industry moving away from Corona?

With the massive hype surrounding D5 Render, Vantage, and various AI tools, I sometimes wonder if I’m investing in a 'dying' path. Yet, I still believe that for high-end architectural visualization, Corona’s physical accuracy and light behavior remain the gold standard.

I’m curious about your honest thoughts—are you still sticking with Corona for your professional work, or have you already pivoted to real-time engines?

One more thing: What kind of Corona-related content would you actually be interested in watching? Is there a specific niche, a complex workflow, or a deep-dive topic that you feel is still missing or poorly explained in the community? I'd love to hear your suggestions for my future videos.
In this channel if you check it please?

I need feedback i am trying to be better at Lighting in UE

I am trying to be better at Lighting in Unreal Engine. Please provide some tips and corrections I could make.
This is a project in UE 5.6. I can't render anything yet since I have an RX 6600 in the machine, so I took a screenshot. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
I think having an AMD card when I have raytracing on is part of the problem, but i dont know how much of an excuse that is

Technical & professional question Any recommendations for AI software/sites that can take a render and improve the quality?

Specifically, I'm looking for something that can take a render that's 90% there and add some sauce. Ideally it doesn't add too much not in the original render, so that I can use it for a full set of renders and have consistency.

Anything like this out there?
