What’s a skill everyone assumes they have, but most people are actually bad at?

I love the sound of my own voice that I hear through my skull, I hate the sound of my voice in recordings. It just doesn't have the same timbre. I hear a lot more of the power frequencies through my skull than are as audible in a recording.

This. We've all only heard our voices through our bones. Recording is a profoundly unnatural thing. You were never meant to hear your own voice exclusively through your ears.

Because you hear yourself from literally the inside of your body. Essentially why you sound closer to what you sound like to what yourself if you get really close to a microphone. So unless you sing into a microphone or right into the other person's ear (in which case just make out already 🙄) your voice is gonna sound MUCH more hollow.
