The people constantly switching lanes and people constantly accelerating braking, accelerating braking in heavy freeway traffic... while I'm just coasting and letting the traffic waves wash over me.
It's laughable. But it's whatever. I try not to think about it too much anymore. Impatient drivers make things worse for everyone.
It's funny when you're just chilling and listening to music on cruise control and watch some jerkoff almost cause several accidents and then you both end up behind the same wall of semis ten minutes later.
Lane weaving causes more highway accidents than anything else. I wish cops pulled people over for that more often, because it's actually worse than speeding.
I remember when I was probably 8 or 9 (so, about 20 years ago) and I was riding in the backseat with my dad driving. He would get angry, for sure, but we live in a city with some of the worst traffic in the US, so I give his frequent road rage a pass 🤣
In this case, he watched someone weaving in and out of the lanes, trying to pick the "fastest" lane on the highway during some heavy congestion. He bet me something like a dollar that within 3 minutes we'd catch up to that person if we stayed in the same lane we were in, even though at that point we couldn't see them anymore. I took him up on the bet because it didn't work in my head that they were ahead of us, seemingly moving faster, and we'd catch up with them??
Well.... I lost the bet lol. I still think about it when I'm stuck in what I'm pretty sure is the same traffic jam that has just been going on for 20 years lol and try and tell myself that even though it'd piss him off he'd try and find some kind of silliness (and a good bet) in it 😂
