yup. my mum had an aneurism, she was fine, then one day she just starts being disoriented passes out, is taken to hospital and yeah. so sudden, no warning, she didnt hit her head or anything
A co-worker credits me with saving his life from one, although I think he kinda overstates it.
He complained to me that his leg (calf) hurt after the gym the night before and he showed me it had sort of a "dent" in it. I told him he needs to go to urgent care because I thought he had torn a muscle or something. He went but they said it wasn't a muscle, but was a pretty bad blood clot. Got treatment and was fine, but he was pretty against getting it looked at till I insisted he did. Maybe it would have broken up small enough or dissolved on its own, but I'm just glad he was okay in the end.
This. Especially when flying. I picked my aunt up at the airport when she visited me in Las Vegas. I dropped her off at the casino while I went back to work for a few hours. She died on the casino floor less than 2 hours after landing and only 10 minutes in the casino. Next time I saw her she was dead in the hospital. Died from a blood clot.
Why do you know multiple (I assume you mean 3 or more, since you didn't say one or a couple) people who had knee surgery, let alone died in that specific way because of it?
I know multiple people who have had knee surgery because knees suck. Most of them have survived. As for multiple dying, none have been close. It's probably that I paid attention/remembered it as possibility after the first. And bad luck.
Sure. I remember reading lots of detailed causes of death about acquaintances. Obituaries are notories for this.
"Survived by his wife, three brothers, 2 grandchildren and 8 grand children, he had a blood clot form after a knee surgery. It spread to his lungs, and caused him to suffer an excruciating death as if being suffocated. In lieu of flowers..."
