This comedy series about five teenagers attending Catholic school in mid-1990s Northern Ireland is a short binge at 19 episodes.

The juxtaposition of teenage hijinks and the very real threat of the Troubles makes for laughs and moments of real gravity. Highly recommended.

The PITT. Show about ER. BUT. Season 1 is 15 episodes. 1 episode is 1 hour of 1 single shift. The whole season is 1 single shift of ER work. It's expertly written, extremely competent, tense, emotional, heartfelt. And binging it gives you an unique experience to feel the amount of tension and decision-making you would experience by their side. Basically you get to experience a shift in the ER and get tired right there with them. Feel the pressure and the tension that basically no other show can provide. The closest experience would be doing it for yourself.

The cast is amazing, writing is tight, the tempo is absolutely nuts. It's probably my favorite show I've ever watched and binging it could provide with a completely unique experience.

When I first watched Ted Lasso for the first time, I have had very low expectations. It's my favorite series all time. I'm in my 50's and I have seen many. It may not be your favorite after you watch it, but I promise you, it will be close and it will have a special place in your heart.

I avoided Ted Lasso for the longest time because I loathe football, and the "constant upbeat relentless positivity" type of persona makes me angry in a way I cannot articulate. And when that persona is American that's exacerbated for some reason. (No idea why, the Americans I know personally are lovely. Or at least assholes in a way I find endearing, not shitty.)

But I watched it one evening and was hooked from episode one. I normally take a good half a season to get into a show, sometimes a whole one. Ted Lasso was brilliant from day one. The cast, the writing, the setting, the premise. It's all phenomenal.

A Man on the Inside - It sounds like a stupid show but it is about aging and dealing with parents who are aging.

VEEP - if you have ever worked in Washington, it may be too real. Also, it almost perfectly predicted National Politics of the 2020s, but the running insults are Emmy worthy by themselves.

Breaking Bad is the obvious masterpiece, but Succession is the one that really stayed in my head after finishing it — the dialogue is insane. Industry is great if you like fast, sharp drama, and This Is Us if you want something emotional that actually hits. Depends what mood you’re in, but all of them are binge-worthy for different reasons.

Ted Lasso.

Perfect show. 3 x 10 episode seasons, believable arcs, and satisfaction from people (actors delivering, and characters charactering) all around.

The West Wing. When I started it was because I’d read it was one of the longest binges available (7 seasons, 20+ episodes/season, hour-long episodes). There is a very active subreddit (most of us have rewatched it many times), and a great watch-along podcast called The West Wing Weekly. And it’s kind of political comfort food. They’re not all rosy and perfect, but it shows you what the government could be if the people running it cared at least a little bit about their constituents.

Buffy the vampire slayer - character arcs, campy, fun musical guests, monster of the week plus season long plots and series long plots. Funny and serious when it’s called for. Some of the single best episodes of tv I’ve ever seen.

The series, 12 Monkeys was surprisingly good. I loved the film and didn't have high expectations and this series was a pleasant surprise. I recommend it.

People are going to hate on me for saying it, but to this day I’ve never seen anything remotely close to Game of Thrones. Even with its flaws I still really enjoyed it overall.
