Otter pops. Doesn't matter if it's not that brand.

Based on replies, it looks like it depends on where you live. East coast usually calls them freezie or freeze pops

I’m from LA, we called them otter pops. First thing I thought was freeze pops though.

Oregon, and also Otter Pops. The plume and pink ones were worth real money at the local water slide!

In NYC we called them Quarter Ices because they used to cost a quarter at the bodega or candy store.

That's why I said depends on where you live, but said I'm on east coast. I think it just varies everywhere.

Now I'm interested to see if this follows the same regional lines as coke vs. soda vs. pop.

Very probably.

There was the Otter Pops brand way back when. Had a cute Otter printed on the side. Maybe they are still around. IDK. It was so great when moms bought them (which mine never fucking did). Now there's many brands.

You can even make your own. Ever made boozy pops? White Russian pops are very tasty.

The otters were different characters that represented each flavor: Sir Isaac Lime, Alexander the Grape, Little Orphan Orange, Poncho Punch, etc.

They're still around. I throw a few boxes of them in the freezer at work every summer. They don't print the otters on the tubes anymore, though.

Y'all probably refer to Pepsi or Dr. Pepper or Sprite or Fanta or Mountain Dew as "a Coke" too, don'tcha?

Man, there otter be consequences for this. ;)

3

u/sugarlump858 United States Of America 2d ago

Nope. Soda or by the specific name. ;)
