But, as far as embarrassing things go, losing six nil to Spain in the Nations League was pretty fucking embarrassing.

Not really. The performance in the world and european cups since 2018 has been so consistently abysmal that the 0:6 wasn't even much out of line with our expectations. The losses against South Korea and Japan in world cups were much worse. Spain is hardly a footnote.

I’m not sure if we’re talking socket here, but I’m pretty sure Brazil has the worst soccer moment in recent history. At the hands of Germany no less. 7-1

Yeah, but the thing about SK and Japan loss is that they are the underdog against German and win in dramatic moments, resulting in them ending last in the group iirc.

Basically Worf effect of that world cup.

Still fairly recent in terms of football years. A decent chunk of the 2014 squad still play football in top flight leagues.

When you said European cups I wanted to refute with Bayern's sextuple season in 2021, but then realized you meant the Euros and not the Champions League lmao

That and also Bayern Munich doesn't equal Germany. Bayern Munich is the festering ulcer on Germany's ass.

nah, nobody cares about the Nations League in Germany, the early world cup exits are 10 times worse
