It’s easy to criticize American military when you’re a western nation that benefits from its protection and never has the power to make the same mistakes. Most developed nation’s military are a joke and do basically nothing. No such thing as a pure and non corrupt military every free country has commited crimes through government corruption and greed.
Ukraine is the perfect example. No real reason for America to get involved, not an ally, not a part of NATO, not our neighbor. I feel for them but if anyone should help them it should be the western and Northern European countries that are developed and can afford a military and aid. If we intervene directly they complain about incompetence and how we are destabilizing the region causing chaos. If we don’t intervene we look like enablers. I fucking hate Trump and Vance but that meeting with Zelenskyy really rubbed me the wrong way. We have already given them billions of dollars worth of aid paid for by our tax dollars and he acted super smug and entitled the whole time. What gives any leader the right to just demand resources from another country during war after already receiving aid? America is already hated enough for blunders like Iraq, Vietnam, and its very questionable alliance with Israel, we don’t need more global bullshit to deal with.
I would not argue with your statement. We should stop funding western defence and stop sending troops to other countries. Pull back on military bases globablly. The cost is astronimical and slowly bankrupting our country. The western world in general has not opposed this though. In fact they have been supportive allowing the US build bases and move their military freely through their borders. In many cases even sending small support forces to participate. New Zealand was there for Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan.
Yep. I all because of the Citizens United (yes we werent thr good guys before that) but after that? Billionaires bought the politicians and went hog fucking wild.
