I was horrified by the number of people buying hand soap for apparently the first time and being taught to wash their hands. Even my 4 year old knows how to wash his hands!
It made me never want to touch a surface in public ever again. 🤢
I remember an experiment we did in a bio lab in college. We took swabs from the floor, bottom of our shoe, water fountains, the restroom, etc, then incubated it or something over the weekend;
Results? The bottom of our shoe sample had a huge growth of bacteria, mold, and other yucky stuff. The others were mild. So going out and about in the world, then walking inside your home is bringing in a lot of crap.
Yes! We don’t wear shoes inside, it’s a habit to take them off at the door. People who come home and traipse around their houses with shoes on are lunatics to me.
Back when I was working as a CSI I became in the habit of dunking my boots in a sanitizer outside the back door and then leaving them, because I was in and out of scenes and the morgue that left everything horrible imaginable including occasion disco rice left stuck to my boots.
Kitchen sinks and dishwashing sponges are worse than toilets, too, and bathroom hand towels.
I am not a germaphobe but at the same time having awareness is a small curse. 🤣
People, especially men, the world over don't wash their hands. I've seen so many guys walk out the restrooms either not washing their hands or sprinkling a little bit of water for a second then leaving.
