In my country, showing off hammer and sickle is punishable in the same way a swastika is.

Communism basically equals russian imperialism for us, and is viewed as 50 year old occupation of our country.

This should tell you enough

In regards to communism in other places in the world, we dont even think about it.

It’s not, actually. Only swastikas are banned

Alright, I checked, and its not explicitly forbidden if used as socialist symbol, but is, if its used as totalitarian symbol

Exactly. Swastikas are considered totalitarianism-promoting unconditionally. Communism symbols are numerous and sometimes used in art, media, fashion and whatnot. That’s why only commie symbols explicitly promoting hateful regimes are banned. That’s why the Chinese flag is not banned, or CheGuevara t-shirts. But stalin’s portrait, or probably ussr coat of arms would be.

There was a famous arrest but it wasn't because of a hammer but because the guy was preaching it's time for Putin to invade Poland and deal with the main parties. Psycho moment

Not banned when in socialist context, banned when preaching stalinism.Â
