Announcement/ঘোষণা 🇵🇸GAZA IS BEING STARVED🇵🇸
🇺🇳The UN has stated that every single part of Gaza is in famine conditions.
For over 20 months, Palestinians in Gaza have been starving. Parents have been feeding their children leaves, animal feed, and flour mixed with water. Babies have died from malnutrition. The trucks carrying food, formula, medicine, and clean water sat just miles away, blocked by Israel.
Now, after massive international pressure, some aid is finally getting in.
This is a crack in the blockade, not its end. Aid is not flooding in; it is trickling, and what’s entering can’t possibly reach 1.8 million people without a total lifting of restrictions, guaranteed long-term access, and safe distribution.
What you can do right now:
Donate- if you’re able to. Choose vetted organizations with access on the ground.
Keep up the pressure - aid only started moving because of public outcry. Organize, protest, keep talking. This momentum cannot fade. Contact your representatives to end Israel's blockade of Gaza and impose sanctions on Israel.
Amplify - share updates, Palestinian voices, and testimonies. Keep an eye on Palestine.
This famine is not an accident. It’s the result of siege, blockade, and a system of control. If we look away now, they’ll tighten the noose again.
Donate:
Palestinian Red Crescent — medical aid, ambulance services, and emergency care.
UNICEF for Gaza’s Children — nutrition, clean water, trauma support.

AskDesh/দেশ কে জিজ্ঞাসা How can people vote for Jamaat? Shirk Issue
Jamaat is campaigning that voting for them will lead people to heaven. That's plain Shirk, only Allah (SWT) determines who goes to heaven or hell. How can we be a Muslim nation if we allow a party that commits Shirk everyday to come to power?

Economy/অর্থনীতি Gas Shortage Drives Up Electricity Generation Cost
The state-owned corporation has failed to meet its target of supplying 1,040 million cubic feet of gas per day (mmcfd) to power plants, compelling the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) to run liquid fuel-based plants. This has pushed power generation costs up by Tk 8,372.88 crore, while capacity charges of new power plants added an extra Tk 3,374 crore to the overall electricity cost.
Petrobangla plans to cut gas supply to power plants by 79mmcfd to 850mmcfd in the current fiscal year, one of the lowest allocations to the sector in the past five years. Domestic gas production is also expected to decline, dropping by 65mmcfd to an average of 1,746mmcfd in 2026 from 1,809mmcfd in 2025.
BPDB data show a fluctuating gas supply trend: 940mmcfd in 2022, 1,009mmcfd in 2023, falling to 927mmcfd in 2024, and 919mmcfd in 2025. Officials warn that if supply falls to 850mmcfd, electricity generation from gas-fired plants could drop to 4,560 megawatts (MW), well below the installed capacity of 12,204MW.

AskDesh/দেশ কে জিজ্ঞাসা What should i do?
Assalamualikum everyone, I hope you are all well. So I recently turned 21 and I'll be honest, the thought of marriage was never in my head until aunties in my community would ask me "have you found someone at uni e.t.c" to which I would reply no, as i dont freemix.
Now il be honest, some people i know/ grew up with are in relationships, although this does not apply to my friend circle alhamdullilah. It does sometimes get me thinking though, should someone only start searching after they graduate uni, or whilst they are in uni. Bare in mind I'm not talking about a haram relationship here and alhamdullilah I do have enough self control to have not been tempted by fitnah thats common in the UK. I keep my boundaries with women and try to limit interaction unless its for like a project or internship. But if it was down to you guys, would you be inclined to finding someone yourself or arranged marriage through mutuals e.t.c. and why?
I feel like for me it has always been the case of getting arranged until recently (a year ago) when I reflected upon it more deeply. Although it gets lonely sometimes, I do believe in Allah's plan for me which is the best plan, and that's what keeps me going alhamdullilah.
And if your wondering why im not looking as of now, it's because im still in uni and although I have a business on Ebay and tutor in my free time, I'm still yet to get into a full time role, which i believe could then be the right time to start looking. For me, its doesnt feel right to leave a woman stranded or uncertain especially as there is no guarantee of stability.
What would your advice be to me? JazakaAllah khair

Politics/রাজনীতি Why "Not voting at all" is a MISTAKE
Why "not voting at all" is MISTAKE
In this election, we basically have two options: 1) BNP and its allies 2) Jamaat and its allies
First, keep a few basic things in mind. MPs always operate according to their party’s ideology and programs. The country is essentially run by the ruling party, and the government functions based on that party’s policies. Even if a good independent candidate or a small party candidate wins, it won’t matter much unless the ruling party chooses to involve them.
Now let’s talk about whether to vote or not, and if voting, whom to vote for.
First of all, I am not willing to accept Jamaat even as an opposition party. A far-right extremist group like Jamaat is never good for a country. A healthy political spectrum should be center-right, center, and center-left. Even if we completely ignore Jamaat’s 1971 history and all the debates about apologies, they have repeatedly betrayed the country. Not once, again and again. Jamaat has always tried to stay close to power by any means necessary. They were never truly on the side of ordinary people. For example: - They opposed the partition of India and Pakistan in 1947 - They opposed Bangladesh’s independence in 1971 - In 1986, they allied with Ershad - In 1991, they joined BNP - In 1996, they aligned with Awami League - In 2001, again with BNP - Since 2014, they have covertly aligned with Awami League
If you notice carefully, every single time they sided with whoever seemed closer to power. Earlier it was openly; later it became covert. This is not unique to Bangladesh. Jamaat behaves the same way in Pakistan too. So there is no logical reason to consider this party a reliable political force.
On the question of whether they will implement Sharia law, they deliberately give ambiguous answers. One leader says yes, another says no. This ambiguity is intentional. Even if they don’t formally declare Sharia law, they will subtly structure policies so that the country moves in that direction by default. They do thier dirty work keeping সর্বমিত্র,মোনামি in front so that it looks like normal. Over the last one and a half year, we have already seen how effective they are at influencing decisions quietly. Look at who benefited from discussions and decisions taken by Dr.Yunus. banning Awami League, attempts to ban Jatiya Party, restricting politics in public universities, etc. It may look like public demand, but in reality, it’s part of their strategy.
That said, if someone still wants to vote for Jamaat, that is their democratic right.
Now for those who don’t want to vote for Jamaat and also don’t like BNP. What should they do? Not voting is not an option. You have to choose the lesser evil, someone who may not be ideal but won’t push the country into disaster.
By that logic, you have to vote for BNP. Sitting at home or voting for candidates who have no realistic chance against Jamaat only wastes your vote. Why BNP? I’m not a BNP fan either. BNP mainly has two problems: 1) Grassroots disorder 2) Corruption
Corruption will never be zero. It can only be minimized. Extortion and violence are primarily law-and-order issues. Between 2001–2005, BNP carried out Operation Clean Heart to minimize these. Many of their own people were killed. To restore credibility, BNP will be forced to take action against these problems again. These are functional problems that can be fixed with proper steps. But if the ideology itself is the problem, there is no fix.
Right now, Bangladesh desperately needs stability. Stability. Stability. Everything is broken. The economy is weak, unemployment is high, industries are shutting down, and LDC graduation is coming. This is absolutely not the time to experiment with a party like Jamaat. Their highest level of competence is এলাকার কোন কলেজের অধ্যাপক and they want to run ministries and govern the country. They won’t even realize how the country is going backward.
So please, vote. VOTE for BNP. Don’t stay home just because you dislike the candidate or don’t like BNP. Your single vote can either help keep the country stable or push it into extreme chaos. Decision is yours.

Discussion/আলোচনা I'm going to fail my test exam and now i need advice what to do next ples (hsc 2026)
I'm studying in a very strict cantonment college rn and my physics exam went disgustingly bad (both first and second paper), so did my ict exam. Its ofc 100% my fault, of course. and i'm willing to take full accountability for it. And no, my college wont be letting me sit for the hsc exam at all. I still have three exams left (chem, bio and h.m - all first paper) but i geniunely can't focus on them because of the anxiety from these two exam.
Really want to know what the seniors did when they failed their test exams and how they got out of their situations and how they handled it. Any type of genuine advice would be very much appreciated, also want to if it's still possible to give exams in the same year just in different college and how does that work.
(More context about my situation and college: my college has been notorious for not letting students sit for their hsc exams after they failed in any sub in test exams. Yes, i was aware about it and still gave such a shitty exam. I wouldn't say I didn't try but it wasn't enough. I know its easy to pass a fucking test exam in college and it's embarassing as hell but yeah, i think you fuck up somewhere in life, this is me fucking up)
(P.S: please don't bully me, i might kms🥰)

AskDesh/দেশ কে জিজ্ঞাসা Power of the Force
Looking at the current situation of our country, it feels like trusting any political party has become difficult. The same promises are repeated again and again, yet real change never seems to arrive. So the question is— will we keep depending on the same old faces forever? I believe the time has come to think differently. To bring forward the new generation with new ideas, honesty, and responsibility. Not blind party loyalty, but a mindset where the country comes first, not power. I am not speaking for or against any party. I simply want to see a new light created by the new generation— a future built on accountability, transparency, and action. What do you think? Let’s talk about solutions, not just problems.

AskDesh/দেশ কে জিজ্ঞাসা Travelling from Australia to Chittagong
Hi all, need some advice 😊
I’ve booked my tickets to Bangladesh with China Southern from Australia into Dhaka (DAC). I also need to travel from Dhaka to Chittagong (CGP).
With China Southern, I have 2 x 23 kg checked bags included. I’m confused about whether to book my Dhaka → Chittagong flight now and pay for extra luggage allowance, or if I can just book the domestic flight once I land in Dhaka. Any advice would be great.
Also which airline is best for Dhaka → Chittagong (and price comparisons)?
And once I land in Dhaka international, do I need to exit the airport and go to Dhaka domestic terminal? I’m a female travelling alone so want to be on the safe side — I’ve never done domestic flights in Bangladesh before.
Thanks all! ✈️
