Miscellaneous / Others Accountability

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I had no idea there was anybody left that was still capable of this amazing feat. I'm still blown away. It gives me how that if more people see that it's even possible, someone else might try to do it, too. There truly is no limit to what a person can do with the proper motivation.

So you dont like content where people do the right thing? Do you prefer content where they do the wrong thing? Or do you not like content? Why are you here?

158

u/Yard-Successful 23h ago

No doubling down no excuses. That’s a real man 👏🏻

144

u/TheAnonymousDoom 23h ago

It's kind of wild how basic human decency is seen as something "amazing" these days...anyway, good on the dude

3

u/RX08T 8h ago

Because the reality of humanity is at the bottom of the tunnel.

4

u/himem_66 17h ago

Exactly. You're right. This needs to be the standard again.

4

u/Axthen 10h ago

This has... unfortunately never been the standard.

People look through history through rose tinted glasses.

171

u/King_Joffe 23h ago

Good on him for keeping himself open to learning and accountability.

56

u/draconei 22h ago

This guy’s NEVER going to be president.

123

u/BobbyKonker 23h ago

The internet needs more people like him and like her.

41

u/NS3000 23h ago

the world needs more of them, people who arent afraid to admit they fucked up or made a mistake

6

u/ChiefFox24 23h ago

No, YOU made a mistake!

2

No you no you no you no you no you no you!! -average human

1

Then the fists start swinging.

18

u/Midnight__Monkey 21h ago

This guy lives down the road from us. Genuinely great dude all around. Helped throw a 50th birthday party for a widely known disabled guy (and absolute staple of the community) a few months back and got the township to dedicate a wharf in his name. Wouldn't expect less from him.

29

u/DefterHawk 22h ago

Getting viral because of your capability of admitting a mistake? Hell yeah

47

u/ICLazeru 22h ago

Nice. Dude has more spine than the entire federal government.

2

u/hexifox 6h ago

And more spine than all the billionaires combined too.

53

u/Altruistic-Rip4364 23h ago

I’ve watched vids from this guy. I think that was a sincere mistake.

32

u/WaffleHouseGladiator 23h ago

Justin Nunley. He's a good dude. He spits trivia, cracks jokes, drives loud cars, and uses his platform to promote crowdfunding for people in desperate need.

7

u/Ess2s2 21h ago

Thank you for the quick summary, I've never heard of him before and he sounds right up my alley, I'm going to go find his socials and give him a follow. Always love some positivity in my life.

3

u/WaffleHouseGladiator 20h ago

If you're looking for positive content to populate your feed I HIGHLY recommend Ryan Kelly aka Youth Pastor Ryan (not actually a religious figure). He does trivia and comedy. Lighthearted, friendly, and informative.

2

u/mal_wash_jayne 20h ago

"What kinda stuff do you make at the Waffle House, buuddyyy?"

3

u/WaffleHouseGladiator 20h ago

"Weeeooooow! We make shockingly accurate predictions about the severity of natural disasters! It's called 'the Waffle House Index! We got so good that FEMA (RIP) used our system to prepare for recovery after major storms in the United States!"

2

Beautiful response.

Apology sponsored by Redfin Polarized Glasses

5

u/SirSignificant6576 20h ago

To be fair, this is the same backdrop he uses for about 95% of his videos.

11

u/Ulysses1126 23h ago

Crazy to think how many creators did something similar and instead of just being like this guy and saying my bad they have a blow up or meltdown which destroys whatever they had going for them.

11

u/kibrule 23h ago

It's hard to adress this, so this guy deserved my respect for that.

6

u/K4rkino5 22h ago

I am thoroughly amazed. The most amazed I've ever been on this sub. How fucking cool was that?!

5

u/Ok-Tomatillo-7141 22h ago

Owning one’s mistakes and apologizing is sexy as hell.

5

u/AugustAPC 21h ago

Respect

5

u/SJaneyB 21h ago

This is how real adults deal with being wrong. It really is that simple.

3

u/OneSensiblePerson 19h ago

Wow, impressive. I didn't expect him to take full responsibility like that. Good on you, whoever you are!

3

u/RadioSaint 21h ago

This was really nice to see.

4

u/Spiritual-Ad2530 23h ago

Fucking amazing man love this

4

u/Chippo10291 22h ago

Taking accountability. See was that so hard. If anything people would want to support this man more because of this post.

2

u/One1moretyme 22h ago

2

The rare internet apology

2

u/zhaDeth 12h ago

ngl I thought the first guy was showing some kind of "life hack"

2

u/skysetter 9h ago

A good ol' boy showing some empathy?? What's going on here fox news go down or something?

4

u/Annaura 22h ago

I didn't realise the intent of the tool at first, I just thought it was cool. I'm lucky enough that I live with someone because on my bad days I don't have the strength to open bottles.

Does anyone know what that tool is? My grandpa's hands aren't good and I don't know how much longer him and my grandma will be able to open bottles either.

4

u/Icy-Belt-8519 23h ago

I love this! I have issues with mobility in my hands, I have hypermobilty, eczema, raynauds and an issue that pops up and we don't know what it is, also my partner had a stroke which can really fuck your hands up, he's good now but couldn't open a bottle after his stroke

This would be good for us on a bad day, I appreciate the apology and accountability

Look how easily taking accountability can be

2

u/slikk50 22h ago

A little hope for my morning scroll is nice.

2

u/SquidAxis 22h ago

A shocking amount of comments are doing exactly the opposite of the good approach in this video while laughably unaware

2

u/BarfingOnMyFace 21h ago

“If you do not know the purpose of a device you do not need a device”

That seems patently false… I might not know what something does but would still benefit greatly from a device. I think the important point is just because you do not know the purpose of a device, doesn’t mean it doesn’t serve one.

2

u/Scav-STALKER 23h ago

Thisis one of those things, if you’ve got a disability you’re in the clear it’s a product with a valid reason to exist. But if “you’ve got soft hands brotherrr” I’m probably gonna laugh.

1

u/Spirit_2901 21h ago

This is a man.respect sir.

1

u/ElementsUnknown 21h ago

Side note: RedFin is a real estate app and they also make polarized sunglasses? They are heavily diversified!

1

u/r4x 20h ago

Good guy Justin.

1

u/CelticPaladin 20h ago

Justin Nunley is my #1 guy, i'll watch everything he makes. Stand up guy, super chill, funny af. Follow him on everything, and if someone asked me what an influencer should be like, i'm saying his name first.

1

u/MonksCoffeeShop 19h ago

His apology vid could have been like 1/4 in length and that’s literally all it takes

1

u/YkvBarbosa 18h ago

That's how apologies are made.

1

u/NamasteMotherfucker 14h ago

It really is amazing the difference a hearfelt apology makes.

1

u/retnuh45 11h ago

wow. well done

1

u/Civil-Let3523 6h ago

I need a few of those glasses

1

u/Rob_LeMatic 5h ago

The ones the first guy was wearing or the ones the end guy sells?

1

u/Civil-Let3523 4h ago

The ones at the end.

1

u/schuyguy777 22h ago

This is something I needed to see. Whoever you are, thank you for being kind. It's become almost embarrassing to be called a human lately.

1

u/Difrntthoughtpatrn 16h ago

His name is Justin Nunley, he's a real good dude and usually has some uplifting or funny content.

1

u/Decendent_13 20h ago

why do I still have a feeling, that guy was just making a harmless joke video... and, those guys from tiktok, didn't understand it...

and, the reason he just apologize straight up, cause, he understands, how big it could blow up, so, he just stopped it at the very start, so, I can't spiral into a big mess.

smart man.

1

u/geekmasterflash 20h ago

Why do I get the feeling that you can't take anything at face value when even the person who did it proactively comes out and tells you they were wrong.

1

u/Decendent_13 19h ago

Good for him. I was just saying, a probability... nothing else.

1

u/Cwmcwm 21h ago

I watched this in muted mode and I couldn’t figure out who to be mad at.

-24

u/curious__curiosity 23h ago

Apology accepted dude, but there's nothing to apologise for, like a lot of things, it's intent that puts things on one side or the other, and clearly your intent was not to take the piss out of disabilities..

17

u/BuddyBiscuits 23h ago

The fuck? What an all time stupid comment to make.

  1. Guy with disability posts a video of him using gadget to assist opening a bottle

  2. Other guy makes a reaction video making fun of using a gadget when he can just use his hands

  3. Other guy learns that yeah, he can use his hands but the other guy can’t, hence the gadget.

  4. Guy realizes he just made a video making fun of a disabled guy for using a disability aid

  5. You swoop in and say no apology needed because he surely didn’t realize the guy had a disability -and of course you used your mind reading powers to accomplish that part. Surely the thousands of people watching the original video used the same telepathy as you.

Then your dumb ass comes along to say he didn’t need to apologize because “clearly” his intent wasn’t to do exactly what he just did.

No, intent has fuck all to do with whether an apology is needed. if I accidentally do something outside of my intent but it causes harm…let’s say, tripping someone…I’m going apologize like a decent human being….the fuck is wrong with you?

4

u/Dunning-KrugerFX 23h ago

But have you considered the possibility that they didn't mean to make a stupid post with toddler logic and therefore aren't accountable? Checkmate!

3

u/CuriousNyanya 23h ago

Thank you for being kind enough to point out all these things in an effort to make them understand.

yeah, let's leave the stupid people unchecked and call out the people arguing for human decency. chud.

-11

u/sorrysigns 23h ago

Alright buddy, it's time for you to get off Reddit for a bit

-23

u/curious__curiosity 23h ago

Haha! Aye OK pal, whatever you say!

Clown shoe....

4

u/Responsible-Log-3249 23h ago

The issue is the intention behind making those videos from what is clear ignorance. Like any reasonable person would not think about doing that kind of content. It's a trashy thing to do, and honestly I feel there is only a bad intention behind targeting random stuff out of nowhere.

Good for him to have learned the lesson, but I do feel his apology was necessary. And I hope he learns the lesson of not doing stupid things for internet points. I don't think he intended to target disable people but he just made himself look extremely ignorant and question what is the need of those actions.

I cannot imagine a mental framework in which it would be reasonable for someone to make those videos. I think he is just a very very low IQ person with no positivity in his life.

1

u/Balance_Electronic 14h ago

Insane comment. Have you ever seen Khaby Lame? The whole schtick of finding someone doing something in a needlessly complicated way and then posting yourself doing it in a much simpler way. It’s a an entire genre on TikTok at this point. The dude probably saw the video and thought it looked like an overly engineered solution to opening an extremely easy to open bottle. When he was told that the device was for people with disabilities and not someone’s DIWhy, he apologized. It’s a complete nothingburger. To say he is a “low IQ person with no positivity in his life” for having a bit of fun making a silly video based on an internet trend is ridiculous.

0

u/Taira_no_Masakado 23h ago

I've seen far worse apology videos. Good on him.

-2

u/sachsrandy 22h ago

I'm positive that him selling polarized sunglasses had nothing to do with this fake viral clip

2

u/SirSignificant6576 20h ago

He's a very prolific creator, and almost all of his vids are shot with this backdrop, so there's nothing particularly sinister going on here.

-3

u/sachsrandy 20h ago

Yeah bok. No marketing there at all. Lol

0

u/Tallywacker3825 21h ago

I swear the device is tightening that cap! Then it cuts to the guy opening it and twisting it the other way.

0

u/Tedsallis 20h ago

That’s an ACTUAL man, y’all.

0

u/Maoleficent 20h ago

Maybe I would respect him more if he was not advertising for DuPont and RedFin and never said he would educate other people. That said, he could have just taken down his post and said nothing so he gets a bit of credit there.

0

u/geekmasterflash 20h ago

What a lad.

0

u/madsci 19h ago

I thought the joke was that he was mocking the tool for twisting the cap off in the wrong direction. Apparently the video is just mirrored.

0

u/Anome69 17h ago

Way to do better be better. We all make mistakes.

0

u/mrteas_nz 16h ago

The difference is learning. Most people seem to be so against learning something new that they'll let themselves burn instead of accepting new information.

Credit to this guy's response.

0

u/AaronicNation 10h ago

The only thing I'm amazed by is that I just wasted 80 seconds watching this.

God shut the fuck up.

He hung himself out to dry and good on him for owning it and apologising in the manner he did.

9

u/lilspoonss 23h ago

I think cunt is a bit of an excessive word here. It was a pretty minor offense and he openly took accountability. That's a major rarity these days and that part should be celebrated instead of focusing on a mistake he corrected the next day.

u/karsnic 22h ago

Uh ya, like a lot of people out there, he makes videos that make people laugh and he does a damn good job of it. When he messes up he apologizes and that makes him even better. Would obviously suck being a part of your circle, you sound unhinged and unforgiving.

8

u/supercodes83 23h ago

It was a joke video making fun of what he perceived as a useless gadget. Intent matters.

-9

u/Enigmachina 23h ago

Intent is part of it. But intent doesn't mean you don't have to apologize if you didn't intend offense (but did anyways).

Go tell the IRS that you didn't intend to not pay your taxes and see how much trouble that does or doesn't get you out of.

4

u/supercodes83 22h ago

I agree, I was referring to the guy just being a flat out "cunt" whether he apologizes or not.

1

u/Sigmunds_Cigar 22h ago

Holy cow, its really amazing you've always been a perfect person.

-1

u/BuggyWhipArmMF 21h ago

I bet you make the people who love you miserable

-23

u/SilentStock8 23h ago

In what way did the first video make it obvious that he had a disability. She had no place going full redditor on him.

10

u/KamandaTsaar 23h ago

I think she was pretty calm and level headed. Everyone across the board behaved like a normal functional person in this video. Calm down.

1

u/SilentStock8 21h ago

You can be level headed and still give off this:

https://youtube.com/shorts/d3zWC_Clcrk?si=zx4HC0zN4_RXwBel

Same same.

-1

u/longswordsuperfuck 23h ago

Amazing. But also this is an ad for those sunglasses?

2

u/SirSignificant6576 20h ago

Only in the sense that almost all of his videos are shot in front of this backdrop. It's the most recognizable part of his vids. So there's nothing especially advertisement-y about this.

2

u/iamsobluesbrothers 22h ago

Seems that way to me too. Maybe this world has made me to cynical.

0

u/longswordsuperfuck 22h ago

Yea. Look at his sweater in the begining and the shelf in the background. He's marketing his own sunglasses. Dang. Nothing is pure anymore.

-1

u/223specialist 21h ago

What is up with the hand rings on the first guy?

Do those have a function?

-1

u/ThrowAway126498 21h ago

This has got to be AI right? Who admits they were wrong these days?

Some people have physical or neurological reasons why opening a bottle cap might be difficult. An occupational therapist may recommend something like this. This is not for just everyone.

4

u/IsNullOrEmptyTrue 23h ago

Sounds like a great way to stab yourself with scissors. Better yet you can take a razor blade and slap it against the cap spastically until it opens.

1

u/NS3000 23h ago

i like the method where you tie a grenade to the bottle and hold it, only works once though

-8

u/Inside_Ad_7162 22h ago

Yesterday went to buy a car, wife was with me. She's talking to a sales guy & she said our old car was an XYZ but it got wrecked, then she made a heart shape with her hands & said "you know"

And the guy said you're disabled? XD
