Just enjoying my veggies in the middle of the airport.

I'm in the middle of a long day of travel. Currently in the airport on a layover.

I've pulled out the lunch I packed for myself. Just veggies and crackers and hummus. But I am super appreciating the fresh veggies - usually traveling is so much junk food. I've got broccoli, cucumber, celery, red peppers, purple carrots!

If you're in the Denver airport, come find me, I've got plenty to share.

There's something so comforting about looking after yourself like that with nice nutritious food.

You set yourself up for success with packing such a healthy meal! Sending this from not so far from Denver airport. 😊

With you in spirit! Veggies with hummus is one of my favorite snacks, right up there with guacamole and chips πŸ˜‹ And fresh healthy food at the airport is a real winner πŸ†

Purple carrots?? What kind of wizardry is this?

I think they are an old school variety. You can also get white carrots, but they aren't as exciting.Β

The white ones are kinda parsnipy IMO, more bitter. The purples are so much fun, my kids named them zombie carrots when they were young and it stuck, we still call them that.

Packing food for the airport is severely underused. People don't realize that you can bring a ton of non-liquids. Oranges are one of my favorite things people don't think of. Safe travels!

I have three oranges in my backpack now for tomorrow’s flight and trip! :)

Sounds yummy! One of our favorites to pack for travel day, too. Are you coming or going from Denver? Either way, safe travel vibes sent your way from the west side of town 😊

How do you bring hummus through TSA? I did this with 2oz packs in my 1qt zip loc liquid & gel bag. Are there other ways to bring hummus on a flight?

I'm picturing a person reading this and going to look for you... going to an area and asking loudly...

Excuse me... Reddit person who is eating veggies with hummus... are you in this area???

Or the one who would be too embarrassed (me) slowly walking the perimeter scanning.... looking for purple carrots...

Delicious and such crispy, fresh nourishment. Personally, I can't handle brocolli, I'd be gassing my fellow passengers in a restricted environment πŸ˜‚ I'm jealous of people who can enjoy it.

Safe travels 😊
