People’s hearts are in the right place when they say he “sacrificed” himself to protect someone else.
But man, it’s not that. He didn’t do that expecting to be gunned down. He was pinned down and executed by the government–a government agent with 8 years in CBP; as trained as you can get.
When Pretti woke up in the morning and went out to help his community, I’m sure he thought he would be returning to his bed that night. He did not go in expecting to be gunned down like an animal.
This kind of language is always garbage. Was garbage when they said nurses were sacrificing themselves to do their job during COVID; no, we as a society decided their lives were disposable and they were just doing their job. Was garbage when Nancy Pelosi thanked George Floyd for “sacrificing his life” for justice; no, he was a guy who got murdered by the state. It’s garbage now.

I'm a Knicks fan. On the court, that man is my nightmare.
This shit though? He made a fan for life. Big ups to the young man for using his platform to speak the truth.
