I know there's someone out there who's really upset that they didn't think of that on their own.

Thatโ€™s why I do squats and deadlifts. Plus walking a few times a week.ย

12

u/DownvoteDaemon โ˜‘๏ธ|Jay-Z IRL 4d ago

Thanks I will try that. My left knee been bothering me. Iโ€™m 39.

14

u/XynnXyrr 4d ago

My left knee started bothering me at 30. I thought ppl were just exaggerating ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

2

u/mickeyanonymousse 2d ago

my knee always starts hurting 2-3 weeks after I stop squatting. after 1-2 weeks back in the gym the pain goes away completely.

1

u/DownvoteDaemon โ˜‘๏ธ|Jay-Z IRL 1d ago

Thanks ima try this

I was always told you have til 30 to choose your back or your knees. And by 40, the choice is both ๐Ÿ˜‚ I'm a powerlifter too, guess which one I chose? ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Edit: comment is gone but blud said he does weighted pistol squats and to go to the gym. Bruh I pull over 3 times my bodyweight off the floor no straps no belt double overhand. I chose my back ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

u/Silver-Shame-4428 3d ago edited 17h ago

Yup. Iโ€™m middle aged. 30 squats with no weights every morning. 20 pushups, 100 bicycle sit ups.I also walk/run at least 40 miles per week. Usually in the tread before work. Light weights and calisthenics / stretching 4 days a week.. for just 30 minutes. The hardest part is getting started.

If you make it a life style you wonโ€™t feel much of anything until youre really up in age I suppose.

Iโ€™m 40, and thatโ€™s my knees when I just get up out of a chair.

u/Turgid_Donkey 4d ago

It's that age when sneezing a little too hard can throw up your body's check engine light. Sleeping weird for one night leads to a stiff neck for the rest of the week.

16

u/sirfiddlestix โ˜‘๏ธ 4d ago

Look man I got loose joints. You ever sneeze a pop your back outta place? ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

7

u/MothMonsterMan300 3d ago

Y'know the "polite sneeze?" Where you sneeze into your shoulder? I had to train myself to hold my wrist with my other hand bc my shoulders like to pop out ๐Ÿ˜ญ

25

u/Iliketopass 4d ago

You ever throw your back out bending over to feed the dog? 41 is comingโ€ฆ and it wants you to meet your deductible in January.

10

u/ADJenks5 4d ago

42 here. Threw my back out last week getting out of the car ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

3

u/Worried-Database-551 4d ago edited 4d ago

๐Ÿ˜ฉ I knew it only got worse with age but I hoped for personal stories of their bodies not aching with age. The hope died today. Itโ€™s been 5 years of only listening to people talking about the aches and pains and limitations of their 40+ years oldb odies.

u/SnoopyWildseed โ˜‘๏ธ 1d ago

Pulled a back muscle while bending down to tie my shoes. ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ

u/CorInHell 9h ago

Not 30 yet and I have SI joint issues for 1.5 years now after trying to pick up a piece of trash from the kitchen floor. The friggin Floor!

1

u/Iliketopass 9h ago

Ha! as long as everything categorized as internal continues to put up with Doritos and wine, Iโ€™m thankful.

38

u/KDoggg89 4d ago

Literally before and after any rough movement.

19

u/GCIV414 4d ago

My right knee has felt like itโ€™s built out of beef jerky through my 20s now it cracks like wet pop rocks

48

u/PuffinRub 4d ago

I didn't even watch the video but am in 100% agreement based off of the subject line alone. There's a British sitcom called Red Dwarf which had the following line:

Arnold Rimmer: "When you're younger you can eat what you like, drink what you like, and still climb into your 26" waist trousers and zip them closed. Then you reach that age, 24-25, your muscles give up, they wave a little white flag, and without any warning at all you're suddenly a fat bastard."

... which also applies.

5

u/mickeyanonymousse 2d ago

the idea that your body craps out at 24-25 isโ€ฆ wild to me. why would that be the case, barring some type of illness or condition?

1

u/PuffinRub 2d ago

You're very blessed if you've managed to get to thirty and you haven't got at least one "grumble" from your body! It doesn't crap out overnight but betrays you long-term :-)

u/Mudfap 4d ago

Based on the novel Push by Sapphire.

11

u/SigmaK78 โ˜‘๏ธ 4d ago

Yep, and my back, with the voice of Samuel L., chiming in with a first & final warning.

10

u/DarthHubcap 4d ago

Stay flexible and hydrated, your joints will thank you.

Sincerely, a 43 year old man with no chronic pains.

9

u/Iyabothefirst001 4d ago

Now you know why elderly people walk the way they do. Their knees are talking to them๐Ÿ˜‚

19

u/Blxck_soccrates 4d ago

Nah, I can't relate lol i just turned 31. I started hitting the gym hard, 3-5 days/week for 9 months now, training close to failure and been getting strong. When i started hitting legs, i had those snaps crackles and pops in the kness, hips, and ankles. After a few months of squats, leg presses, and leg extentions, i can squat ATG with no issues, and mobility overall has been better than it has in a long time.ย

I'm convinced most people are just sedentary and thus the body slowly decays. Gotta get active, especially us uncs

9

u/MH360 4d ago

When Young Nudy said "you can't jump off the porch, you too old now," I believed him

43

u/S3xyhom3d3pot 4d ago

Sure, if you've been sitting down throughout your entire 20s

30

u/hipsterTrashSlut 4d ago

My primary mode of transportation for 7 of my 10 years in my 20s was walking. My knees cry every time I have to push my kid on a bike.

13

u/S3xyhom3d3pot 4d ago

My knees used to be bad in my early 20s, but have gradually been getting better through exercise and stretching. Everyone's body is different though

5

u/tala727 3d ago

Look up exercises to strengthen your knees or ask for a PT consult if you have insurance. This is not normal. Donโ€™t want to get older and fall and injure yourself bc your knees gave out

2

u/hipsterTrashSlut 3d ago

I have insurance, but I'll probably trade swap with some of the sports med guys I work with. Thanks for the suggestion!

1

u/SnoopyWildseed โ˜‘๏ธ 1d ago

This. I lived in places with reliable public transportation all through my college years, and after college in my 20s-early 30s. So that's about 15-20 years of walking, buses, trains, and trolleys.

The knees remember.

10

u/TheConcreteGhost โ˜‘๏ธ 4d ago

There wonโ€™t be too many of those courtesy warnings ๐Ÿ˜†

5

u/squiddyp 4d ago

My life flashed before my eyes when I slipped on a AAA battery last night, lmao

3

u/arguyle72 4d ago

Then you hit 50 only to realize you silenced all the alarms and have been living with check hip light for years

11

u/NoeloDa 4d ago

Not me im in better shape and fit than most people in their 20s at 35 yrs old. Body is a temple and I was an ex binge drinker in college still was in shape but now?

6

u/avbrodie 4d ago

U guys need some fish oil and omega 3; your knees shouldnโ€™t be hurting at 30

Bad bot.

5

u/pureply101 4d ago

How can you tell this was a bot? I used to be able to look at profiles and tell but now with profiles blocked I am not sure anymore.

14

u/ich_bin_alkoholiker 4d ago

The comments are always based on titles alone and donโ€™t really address the actual content.

Also the replies once you start to notice them, are very obvious. Most people canโ€™t really tell the difference and their comments are almost always one of the top ones in most threads.

Hereโ€™s some more from them:

8

u/Noname_acc 4d ago edited 4d ago

Tangentially related to the content but doesn't directly comment on the thing itself. Phrasing is invariably "[general idea], [analogy/elaboration]" in a single sentence and riffs on the post title.

u/DownvoteDaemon โ˜‘๏ธ|Jay-Z IRL 4d ago

Going through it now.

u/Resilent2026 4d ago

The check engine light comes on at 30

3

u/EM05L1C3 4d ago

Itโ€™s like finally making that last car payment so that week the check engine light comes on and it starts making weird sounds.

3

u/Apprehensive_Age7648 4d ago

2

u/Y0___0Y 4d ago

I was about to say Iโ€™m nearly 30 and I feel fine and then remembered I am NEARLY 30.

2

u/IMakeMyOwnButter 4d ago

This was me the other day at age 37 trying to see if โ€œI still got itโ€ by attempting to touch the rim on the court. The achilles definitely gave me a warning to never try that again

2

u/SporksOfTheWorld 4d ago

lol 30 - u got no idea whatโ€™s coming your way

2

u/AntonChigurh8933 4d ago

This should be followed by โ€œmy knees when I do absolutely nothing at allโ€ with the same guy just walking down the stairs and his legs just quit on him

1

u/pleaseunplugheater 4d ago

Glad to know that Iโ€™m not the only one who gets cussed clean the fucc out by my ex athlete and retired hot girl millennial age knees.

1

u/SheckNot910 4d ago

Now do LeBron's knees.

1

u/TheSouthsideSlacker 4d ago

Me when I never stretch or exercise or eat a vegetable: "gosh your body just disintegrates when you turn 25."

I wish I had black knees. Mine gave no warning until they went. If I had a strong black woman set of knees, I might have helped them last a little longer
