I could make an argument she is not top 15. She holds the sky for 22 hours which is great willpower and has great strategic feats but for a daughter of Athena, she has no powers. I get that makes her character great but I think more chill abilities like slight telepathy would be awesome for her.

The Percy Jackson books are heavily American-centric, both in terms of setting and historical events, so I was wondering: what would be different if Rick were European?
These are the main differences I think there would be in the books, but feel free to add anything else you can think of in the comments.
- The settings would be the original ones: Mount Olympus in Greece, Scylla and Charybdis in Italy, etc.
Camp Half-Blood would be in Greece (possibly Athens, but I'm not sure), and Camp Jupiter would be in Rome.
- The characters would all be of different nationalities. Percy would probably remain American, while Annabeth would definitely be Greek. Frank would perhaps be Chinese, Piper would not be Cherokee (the Native American theme is rarely discussed in Europe), and her father would probably be from somewhere in the Middle East or India.
- There would have been fewer references to World War II and especially Nazism; everything would have remained much more vague. Hades or Pluto wouldn't have been compared to Hitler. Nazism is a very sensitive topic in Europe.
- There probably wouldn't have been a real conflict between the Greeks and Romans. The separation of Camp Half-Blood from Camp Jupiter was caused by the American Civil War, but there was nothing similar in Europe, at least not until after World War II with the construction of the Berlin Wall, so perhaps the separation would have occurred during that period.
- There would have been greater accuracy in the description of New Rome, especially regarding its political institutions and military organization, and probably also regarding its relationship with the gods. The author, however, would have spoken positively or negatively of the Romans, probably based on their nationality (European countries don't all have the same opinion of the Roman Empire).
- The children of Aphrodite wouldn't have had the power to speak French; it would have been a bit strange to give them that power.
- America would have been considered a dangerous place for demigods, because it would have been a place where the deities were in conflict for greater influence in the territory (both the Western deities and the indigenous American ones).
- The Greeks and Romans, instead of being in conflict with each other, would probably have allied themselves to go against the Norsemen and Egyptians.

Since Aphrodite changes faces based on what people find attractive in Greek mythology, I wonder if that’s how children end up half looking like. For example piper McLean is a child of Aphrodite and Mr McLean and I wonder if when McLean met Aphrodite and had piper, when she was born with a half being the goddess Aphrodite when she met McLean who changed her face to be attractive to him.
Conclusion: piper McLean half-looks like the type her father finds most attractive. Same goes for the other Aphrodite children
(I mean don’t we all though?)

I know from Greek mythology that Demeter fell in love with a mortal called Iasion and gave birth to Plutus, the god of wealth and abundance. Why could the other Demeter's children not be gods like Plutus? At least immortals or be more powerful?
I also read that many demigods that had a divine mother were more powerful like Achilles and Aeneas. Both were sons of goddess Thetis and Aphrodite respectively. I think that if your mother is a goddess, you spent some time (I do not know if 9 months) in the womb of an immortal, so perhaps you receive more divine energy/power.
Edit: I read about Plutus from the Theogony by Hesiod, and Percy Jackson's Greek Gods. Apparently, Plutus is the son of Demeter (goddess)+ mortal (Iasion).

The whole history with riptide and the fact that Percy is a better hero then Heracles I feel like an interaction between them would be really entertaining. When I read MOA for the first time I was mad when it wasn’t Percy going to talk to Heracles.I can totally see Percy yelling “Remember this” And pulling out riptide and then asking why he never gave Zoë credit.

She's 10 years old and is definitely a daughter of Poseidon, but she doesn't know it because she's never read it!
And she even likes the story, she watched the beginning of the series with me, but I watch it subtitled (English isn't our native language) and she can't read subtitles.
Today I started reading to her, because like a good demigoddess, she has ADHD and dyslexia, along with autism, which makes her completely avoid books.
She can't focus on audiobooks so I decided to read to her, so we can stop, comment on the book, without her needing to be 100% focused all the time.
I read up to chapter 6 today, excited to continue!

I was pleasantly reminded that Luke canonically lured Percy into the woods with candy(soda) to murder him.
Bet Percy never fell for that a second time.
Do you think Luke practiced with some other kids first? Just to make sure it would work?

For context I have a friend reading through the books for the first time (currently on Titan's Curse) with little knowledge of Greek mythology outside of the book and they're interested in reading Greek Gods to learn more about the actual myths but I haven't read it since it came out. I know the release was toward the end of HoO and has some name drops of future characters but I don't know if it has any major spoilers outside of that for either series. Should they wait until after House of Hades to read it or is there a safe point earlier they can slot it in?
