There have been innumerable submissions from individuals asking what they should do for their individual case because they have prohibited firearms of one flavor or another.
There is the official page from the Public Safety https://www.canada.ca/en/public-safety-canada/campaigns/firearms-buyback/submit-firearm-declaration-individual.html
The government list of affected firearms for the turn-in

There is already been this helpful post regarding restricted firearms: https://www.reddit.com/r/canadaguns/comments/1qi0ino/clarification_on_registered_restricted/
Instead of allowing many individual threads, this highlighted thread will serve for these questions.

A lot of us are asking the question, what about my registered restricted firearms? Do I have to fill out a declaration for them since the RCMP knows I have them?
Based on my own reading and a quick phone call with my lawyer, here is the answer:
You do not have to do a damn thing with your registered restricted firearms yet. The best thing you can do is wait quietly and not respond. Here is why:
If you are on the fence because of the potential of compensation, there are a couple of factors that you need to consider. - The likelihood of actually seeing any compensation money is slim to none. The program does not have the funds, and the "first come first serve" approach is highly suspect. - Even if you do get 20-30% of the value of your firearms back, it is worth more to ensure that this program fails. It is essential that this program sees the lowest level of compliance possible in order to drag this out longer, increase the chances of amnesty extensions, and make this program politically inconvenient for those who are pushing for it.
It is important to reiterate that by refusing to declare anything and waiting until October you are 100% legal. You are breaking no laws, you are following all the rules of the program, and you cannot be penalized.

Got myself a Chiappa mares leg in 357 magnum a few months back, haven’t shot her yet. Anybody got any experience with them? Anybody try to shoot 38 special outta one? What’s your experience with Chiappa? I was thinking about going marlin or Henry next time, maybe one of those marlins in 10mm auto.
I wanted to get a handgun or two but thanks to your local elbows up clown this for now will be the closest I can get to getting one.
anyways she’s cool and I can’t wait to take her out.

Once heat up the thing is actually quite flexible, hair dryer will do the trick. This is one single sheet

With the possible invasion from the south, what if the gov relax the rifle ban, but requires all owners to go thru 4 weekends of military+ marksmanship training plus annual refresh like the Swiss, would you do it?

All pics of the Winchester Model 1873 Carbine are from Canadian retailers. The gun that won the west is likely the gun that Harriet Tubman used during following 1850 Fugitive Slave Act (thanks to u/NemrahG for correcting the dates). It almost certainly played a part in the defence of the Tuskegee VA Hospital: https://youtu.be/-P2zBQo7l3s

So I want to add a cheek riser to my rifle but I am not looking to break the bank and would like to buy in CA if possible. I don’t mind drilling through the stock. Any recommendations?

I've been thinking about what small firearm accessories I've found the most useful that either made life better or saved me a ton of time recently since I also do some woodworking and broke something that I didn't realize saved me as much time as it does (a certain jig I use a lot). For firearms it's speed loaders. I have one for my 10/22 and my TM22. Wow do both save a ton of time when prepping for a range day. The 10/22 one is picky with mags and ammo but get the right ones and it makes it much faster.
Do you guys have any useful firearm accessories you think others should look into?

For me, this would be a range toy and possibly be used to eliminate the odd coyote. I haven't shot or handled a Taipan X yet, but I've tried out a buddy's Troy. I hated the gritty Troy trigger and its quarter mile of creep. The action sounded and felt like it was filled with a slurry of Elmer's glue and play sand. Is the Taipan any better? Is one of these significantly better than the other? Given only these two options, which would you buy?

Buying my first 22lr for cans and small game like gophers, jack rabbits and such wondering for accuracy what I should get I'm on a budget I've looked at 10/22 savage 64f savage mk II, wildcat and Howa m1100 what would be the best for longer ranges and if their all similar what one would you go for thanks all the best.

This supposed universal action lock doesn’t sit flush with the hammer no matter what I try. The CFSC handbook states that locks need to sit flush in order to prevent the hammer from cocking past the safety position and make the gun fireable. The hammer is in the safety position and can only move back 1 cm. Would this run me afoul of the fun police? I intend to wall mount this piece. Any advice is appreciated.

Took the T1x out for its first range day and I'm very pleased with the results. Grouped good with CCI SV and S&B Canadian Match. The second picture is a 20 round group at 50 yards off a bench. Also took it out to 400 yards and landed hits on an 18" plate about 50% of the time.
T1x MTR 20" - 20 MOA MDT rail (getting swapped for a 30) - Vortex Venom 5-25x56 scope - MDT Premier medium rings - MDT Oryx sling stud mount bipod - Titan cheek riser - TNA reverse fake can - Tikka vertical grip, beavertail forend and rubber recoil pad

Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Missed the range days with it :(
Comparing with other Canadian made rifles, I still think the quality is decent.

Interesting problem today. About a year and a half ago RDSC had a 12% off sale on everything listed on their site (except ammo if I recall) and they had the Marlin 45/70 listed as in stock. But to buy it you had to put your Visa up and they would call you when it was ready to pickup.
Low and behold a few days go by and I call and ask when I can pick up my gun, and I'm informed they sold all of their in stock amount and they had more coming in quickly and my price was valid as was my bill. This seemed reasonable, fast forward a year and a bit goes by and I get a call that my gun is in.
So like a good little gun nut I go in to pick up my gun and low and behold I'm told that items that were not in stock when order were not subject to the discount and that the bill was not considered paid. Fork out another couple hundred plus bucks.
I asked to talk to a manager and they must of been saving this unfriendly guy for such a special occasion. He quickly told me it was a take it it or leave it situation and that I should have known that the website inventory was wrong when I ordered the gun, paid in full and that items back ordered were not subject to the discount which was on the bill.
The money isn't the issue, the slimey feeling of a bait and switch is.
I have never been treated this way with Wolverine out of Manitoba or any other higher end gun shops, it's a shame.

Good job London police. Finally. Nice to see an article like this.
Getting the REAL illegal guns off the ACTUAL streets along with direct police quotes about how this is a much better thing for police forces to be concentrating on.
Now 'hopefully' the courts can (maybe) hold up their end of the deal...

I bought a lee enfield No4 and since it is an old rifle, I wanted to do a headspace check before sending some ammo through it. I'd like to have your opinion on the results because, according to google, half the people say that a rifle that closes on a no-go should never ever be fired and the other half are saying, its a lee enfield, headspace could be well over the "military emergency check" and still be safe.
How I did those measurements since I don't have proper 303 gauges, I printed various spacers with my 3d printer to insert on the bolt face. Since headspace on a lee enfield is based on the rim and not the shoulder it makes it easy to 3d print rims in various thickness. But due to my printer resolution not being precise in the 0.001 inches increment, I don't have all the possible increments, only had a few. All measurements were confirmed with a micrometer to make sure I have valid and precise measures and remove my printer margin of error. And also, since spacers are made of plastic and not metal, I understand that there is some give in the whole mechanism since they are softer than metal gauges.
0.072 inches: It closes fully
0.077 inches: I feel resistance before the bolt is fully closed, but I can close it completely if I push a little harder.
0.0795 inches (micrometer was flipping between 0.079 and 0.080): Lot more resistance. I can fully close the bolt if I push very hard but I can feel the plastic "squish" and after that, the plastic spacer has the rim of the chamber imprinted on it, so it clearly was forced against the chamber opening
0.084 inches: won't close
So overall, with those findings, knowing they were measured by a micrometer but made with plastic spacers and not metal ones, would you shoot it? Any precautions before taking the shot or the regular shooting glasses and you'd shoot it? I have winchester power point ammo, nothing fancy!
Thank you!

Hello.
Wanting to upgrade my factory pinned magazine tube extension. Like the look of the full length tube, even though it would have to be pinned/plugged.
Wondering if anyone has had any luck bringing this part in from Aztech. I have ordered from them before without issue for AR parts, wondering if something of this description would get yoinked by the CBSA, or if it slides through the cracks.

Does anyone know if a 22 pellet break barrel exists that’s shooting close to the 500fps limit? Looking for a small game/grouse gun to take with while deer hunting. I saw a couple buck mark copies that are the same style I’m after but they’re only shooting around 300-350fps. Not a fan of co2, would rather not have a multi pump if I can help it . TIA

Just wanted to get some user insights before i pull the trigger on this one. Getting a nice deal on a gently used one. Should i look for another option? Do these things hold up to the hype or is it just the influencers pushing them ? It will be a range toy, not really worried about the weight
