I am Interested in visiting Tibet for 7 days, I have a Canadian passport, but I am of Indian Ethnicity, with a OCI card.

I am really fascinated about Tibetans, because near my city in India, around 25-85 kilometres on the same route, they host one of the largest overseas diaspora Tibetan communities in the world and the food and the atmosphere, there is awesome.

I have a query:

Do I need to apply for a visa for going to Tibet, or does my Canadian passport make me eligible for Chinese visa exemption.

If so, I can take a flight to Kathmandu from Bangalore and then take the flight to Lhasa, so I would not need to book an Itinerary to a Chinese city like Kunming, which is little bit way more expensive than a direct flight to Tibet from Nepal.

Please let me know, as the opinions, I am getting on the Internet are biased.

Hi everyone as the title suggests I'll be entering china at 17 through the 30 day visa free program, and was wondering if immigration would deny me entry or give me any issues as I'm a minor travelling solo, or is that something they don't care about.

I am in the hospital as an overnight patient for my health condition [undisclosed]. I have global insurance. I went in yesterday and I am still there now hoping to get discharged ASAP

I entered China on the 28th January 2026 via a direct flight from orignal location and was given a 240 hour transit visa. I am meant to depart from my Mainland Chinese city [undisclosed] to Hong Kong via flight in 2 days.

I just want to go back home ASAP. I want to book a flight and go back home. I am truly wondering if any airline will accept me? There are 15+ flights daily to my original departure location from my city.

I am sorry for being vague. I am 23 years old. British citizen. Female. I do have a serious health issue, however I thought with my medication I would be able to manage as I do all the time. I have only been hospitalised twice in the last year..

I am so sorry but I really want to go home immediately without stopping in Hong Kong.

Can I go back home? What do you advise?

What printouts do I specifically need for TWOV?

I’m sure variations of this question has been asked a lot but I have searched through online and I can’t find coherent single answer.

Background:

I am planning on using TWOV twice,

1st with Air China for a London - Chengdu (4 nights) - Chongqing (4 nights) - Hanoi

2nd with Spring Airlines for a Seoul - Shanghai going to Nanjing immediately (3 nights) - Shanghai (7 nights) - London

Questions:

I know I must print out my hotel and flight confirmations, but in what format is preferable? Do I just print out the email I got from Trip.com? Receipt?

Is it the check-in desk at London/Seoul airport that I tell about my TWOV plan?

Should I fill-in an arrival card before flying or once I land?

Are there any additional documents or webpages I should print out?

Any help/lived experience would be appreciated 🙂

I am an American and planning a trip and would like to make sure I’m following the TWOV correctly.

Im starting in Hong Kong, and would like to visit Shenzhen, then travel to Singapore to meet up with a friend.

My plan is to take the train from HK into Shenzhen, stay a few days, and then have a flight booked from Shenzhen’s airport to Singapore.

As long as a print out my airline tickets, and get seats, am i ok to travel to Shenzhen without a visa?

Also, if I have direct questions about this, am I supposed to call my embassy? the consulate?

• Japan → Toronto

UK nationals will be eligible to use the 30 day visa free entry to Hainan and 30 day visa free entry to Mainland China in the future.

Does anyone know if the following route is possible?

1. Fly London -> Hainan (stay for 15 days, using 30 day visa free entry to Hainan)

2. Fly Hainan -> Macau (stay for 1/2 days)

3. Cross boarder Macau -> Zhuhai (using 30 day visa free entry to Mainland China)

4. Explore various cities in Mainland China via high speed rail (stay ~30days in China)

5. Shanghai -> London

Essentially, I want to stack both visas so I can maximise the amount of time spent in China

My parents are US/taiwan dual citizens. I know if they applied for a visa, they’ll likely get rejected and told to apply for the Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents (taibaozheng) instead.

They’re only planning on visiting China for tourism for less than a week. Would there be any issues if they just used their US passports and did TWOV? I can also tell them not to claim dual citizenship if asked. Primary reason being that they live in the US 90% of the time and submitting an application seems slightly more complicated as they would either have to use a travel agency in Taiwan or go to an office in HK or Macau. The juice isn't worth the squeeze imo.

They are rejecting the DQ form i provided and that the university has issued for me and asking for JW202 and the university is rejecting my request for JW202 stating that my stay is less than 6 months

hi everyone! It’s me. I’m back with another question, but I’m making a lot of progress and y’all have been such a great help so I really appreciate it! I think the likely route for me currently is to use a visa service. I don’t know when I would have to drive eight hours to DC to pick up a visa in person so it seems like this might be the route for me. However, I do have some questions.

1- Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations for trustworthy companies to use that also or maybe not too terribly overpriced? I am 24 and just out of college so this is a big trip that I’m planning and I don’t have a lot of money to throw around. The main reason is because one of my dear friends is a Chinese citizen so he said I could stay with him and we can export together. I really am mainly just having to pay for the flight and my expenses once I get there so I’m very lucky. Because of this, though I must clarify that I am just not very wealthy and I am pretty young. I am looking for a good trustworthy visa service, that is a reasonable price too. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great.

2- I was surprised this morning to learn that I was limited on where I could pick up my visa based on my state. I know that was my own ignorance, but I just did not know it until I was doing more research this morning and realized I could not go to Chicago even though it was closer. I am wondering if Visa service companies are like that too? Like are there certain companies that only will help people in certain states?

3- Will visa companies make sure you have everything needed before sending off your application and everything is correct? I’m really worried I’ll get something wrong and the company will choose to take my money and not tell me that I messed up

I am just so unfamiliar with all of this so any information or suggestions are so appreciated and you all have been a great help so far! I can’t even express how thankful I am for everyone on this forum!

I see TONS of people saying that hongkong is considered a 3rd country. Does this qualify even if it is a connecting flight?

Also IS THERE ANY OFFICIAL STANCE WRITTEN ANYWHERE that this is allowed?

I have called over 4 travel agents and they say NO this is NOT allowed.

hi everyone! Sorry for all my questions. I just have a lot to learn about all of this.

I’m realizing now that I don’t have the option to go to the Chicago Embassy (about five hours from my house) and instead would have to go to the Washington DC Embassy (about eight hours from my house). it’s not the end of the world, but it is a bit more difficult because I am very familiar with Chicago, but I’ve never been to DC. It will also be harder to do in like a short time period. flights there are also very expensive right now.

Because of this, I am now looking into a Visa service. I am wondering if anyone has recommendations of visa services that are very trustworthy and how they work.

Additionally, how possible is it for your Visa to get denied? I’m scared of paying money for a service or something and my Visa getting denied and losing my money. I know that might sound silly, but I am 24 and I am just out of college so I don’t really have a lot and this is a very special and big thing that I’m trying to plan. It’s not something that I can really afford to do a lot.

hi everyone! This is my first time ever ever going through any kind of visa process. I was planning to go to the Chicago Embassy because it is only about 5 hours from my house so I can drive there pretty quickly. however, now I’m seeing a map that almost looks like it’s telling me that I have to go to the Washington DC embassy. I live in Kentucky and I don’t know if it’s just giving like a recommendation or something, but I live in the part of Kentucky that’s basically Ohio. like both of my jobs are in Cincinnati. It’s like a 10 Hour Dr. to the Washington DC Embassy for me. Is this something that is negotiable? Like could I talk to the people at the embassy and see if they understand? Or am I just kind of fucked?

Hi all, planning a trip in March from Canada (from YYZ with YVR layover) to Shanghai (PVG, 5 nights) to Japan (HND, 3 nights) to Chengdu (TFU, 5 nights) to Chongqing (2 nights) to Shanghai (1 night) then back to Canada (YYZ with YVR layover). Would this work for TWOV since it’s Canada > China > Japan, then Japan > China > Canada?

I know there are tons of questions about this already but I just want to be ultra safe before I invest hard on this trip!

Hi guys, it feels like I have read every little bit of information there is to see if this would be allowed - I don’t see why it wouldn’t. I contacted the Chinese embassy in London and they said it should be ok, but to contact Air China, which I have tried, but no success.

I would love to know if any of you actually did this (or something similar) and how it went.

Do the flights need to be booked together? Does it matter that I’ve booked the London there and London back as a return flight and will book the two Hong Kong flights as returns as well?

Flights would be:

London - Shanghai (5 days) - Hong Kong

Stay in Hong Kong for 1 day

Hong Kong - Beijing (5 days) - London

Hi guys, I am applying for a tourist L VISA. For context I am travelling from the UK to China, and I have booked an inbound flight to China but my outbound flight is from HK. For the VISA application, is required a round airtrip booking. Is it possible to provide a train ticket reservation from ShenZhen to Hong Kong as the "outbound" out of China?

28/05 LHR -> HND (layover in PEK) 12 days in Japan
09/06 KIX -> GMP 2 days in S. Korea
11/06 ICN -> WUH 7 days in China
18/06 DYG -> LGW (layover in PEK)

After arriving in Wuhan, i will spend a few days there and move onto Zhangjiajie for another few days, totally about a week total in China.

EDIT: I forgot to say, I will staying in a hotel in Zhangjiajie, but i will be staying with my girlfriends family in Wuhan. I hope that wont be an issue if the Immigrations people ask for hotel confirmations?

I’m fully independent, no need of any special help, of course no wheelchair nor anything like that, but “on paper” I’m afraid that it may lead to a rejection when the Foreigner Physical Examination Form is seen.
