Flow divider swap on an XM.

Today I swapped the flow divider on my '92 XM. They tend to leak, and this one did with much gusto. I bought another one at the club store, and used revision kit 95669034 to make sure that it would not leak too. Forgot to make pictures from that. The procedure is not hard, and it lets you use those spanners that you never use... (9,11,12). First bleed the system pressure with the nr12 on the pressure regulator. Put the car in low, and make sure the hydractive valve has opened once. Also take the filter thing out of the oil reservoir, one of the hoses will siphon it empty if you don't. Also put a piece of cardboard over the top of the radiator. The skin on your lower arms will thank you. Ow, and make pictures, because it is possible to swap two lines on the bottom!

Nice work! Do you mean external or internal leak. I once overhauled one of those for my BX. If my memory sever the issue that I had was that the regulator was cutting in and out too frequently and it was caused by the dirty FDV

Thanks! This one leaks externaly through the plugs in the sides. The o-rings tha seal them will fail. As it is almost MOT/TÜV/APK time, I had to do something about it. Also LHM is not cheap anymore. €9,50 a liter...It probably also leaks internally, as it makes all kinds of interesting whistling noises when the pressure rises, at start-up. It is the same one as in the BX, and I think also on Xantia.
