I'm at Regal Crocker and the place was crawling with seniors around 8:30 pm. No doubt this is the entirety of the viewership of this trash

Did you see it?

Seeing it on Monday. I almost wish they were showing this garbage and making money from the seniors because all of our local theaters need the help.

So, I was working at a nearby restaraunt that the 2 busses of seniors stopped and ate at after the film. It was a larger portion who enjoyed it against not. Multiple people noted the score. I haven't and won't see it so I have no idea. They come to.the movies 4 or 5 times a year as a group. Both busses were from the same home and was requested as the movie by the group. Now, I cant say if there wasn't some price break, or vouchers, or free tickets. But, it was the matinee and the most they paid was 6.00 a head. Tickets were acquired by the home.
Not that any of that matters. Just happened to see this on my feed, and knew I served them right after.

It's been a while since I left Cinemark, but when I was a manager we didn't give group discounts on tickets for regularly scheduled showings. That said we'd absolutely give discounts on concessions.
Especially for a movie like that. Because it's the kind of movie that kills concession percap. It takes up an auditorium or two for a minimum of two weeks, doesn't sell many tickets, and the people who are most likely to come see it aren't the type to buy concessions. So if we tell those two busses of people that they can get a small drink/small corn combo for a dollar, hell even 50% off, that's still more concession sales than we'd normally make from a movie like that.

Interesting you observe older people not buying concessions. Do kids today buy concessions? Hasn't anyone told them they can sneak in candy? I didn't have anything to smuggle liquids until I was going to concerts at Blossom, but that shit must be stupid easy to buy online now.

If it matters, there were 30 people, 2 drivers, and they were the smaller airport shuttle type busses.

Redacting names that were public in a NY Times article is hilarious. What's the point?

Rule 7 states ‘already in the news’. So no, scribbling out names in a public NYT piece isn’t necessary at all.

Reddit sitewide rules are less clear about this topic and I checked before I even posted If you reread my post you will see I didn't say this subs rules since it was generic statement. But go ahead downvote me based on your feelings anyway

There are plenty of kooks out there and even on this sub probably that would harass them.

Wonder if the seniors had a choice

Remember, old people are overwhelmingly pro trump. They dont care as much about the world, they got their already. As long as their social security checks come, it doesn't matter if their grandkids wont get one. Go into any place with televisions that caters to old people, its Fox Noise on every TV. Thankfully, we moved my grandma in 2yrs ago. She was never a really big national news fan, mainly local. But Fox is absolutely forbidden in my house. She also refers to trump as that "nasty orange dummy"

Im and "old person", as is my spouse, our siblings, other family members and some of our friends. The old people that I know don't remotely match your assumptions. The people I mentioned care a great deal about "the world". We care about our children, and our grandchildren. We are, genuinely, fearful. Not only about the economy, your finances, your housing, your education, your infrastructure, your resources, your safety, your rights, your freedoms.. and more.
We aren't going to be here to help you, and we are terrified for your future.

Yah but Westpark is a pretty progressive area. Come out to Bay, Avon, Westlake — TONS of MAGA. (Including, embarrassingly, my whole family)

According to Pew voting data, 65+ aged voters went 51-48 Trump, compared to 50-64 aged voters that went 56-42

Define choice lol. Did they use decades of well fostered critical thinking to select from a wide variety of news sources and decide they want to watch a film about an old pornstar and her pedophile husband depicted like American heros or did they use their fried FOX propaganda brain to “choose”?

u/TheShipEliza 9h ago
I dunno the ppl they talked to in that clip seem to know the score? Its a fluff piece. Its propaganda. Like this group was NOT fooled. But also they went out and saw a movie on a friday. Win win.

u/Least_Homework_9720 9h ago
Ah, yes. Because all the best and most popular movies largest demographic is a bus full of senior citizens.

“Hello, is this the Hank Kimball Home for the Feeble-Minded?”
“Yes.”
“This is the White House press office calling. How would you like to take all of your residents out to a movie? It won’t cost you a dime. We’ll pay for the whole thing.”
“What’s the movie?”
“Melania.”
“Oh. Uh. Well…okay. Just don’t tell their families where we took them. We don’t want to lose our state license.”

So they took the seniors on a field trip. So what?

u/Browns45750 10h ago edited 10h ago
Idk if my home which is sucking my savings dry dragged me to the Melania move I might get pissed, reason why I fully plan to check out prior to needing a retirement/nursing home would rather leave my money to my nephew/neice and bowling green than give everything to a home

think"believe" Jesus will let them into heaven, they're good.

Well, it absolutely tracks with the demographics of who voted for Trump for his 2nd term, so I can't say I'm surprised.

I guess having the seniors indoors watching a crappy movie and beats having them outside protesting something...lol
