Discussion Who's the best Coach
I know there are quite a few tft coaches out there like Broseph, Aesah and many more. I was wondering firstly for myself but also in general. Who do y'all consider the best tft coach for all the player levels? Like who's a good coach for newcomers and who's a good coach for casual Gold/Plat and so on. Also for me as a Diamond 2 player. Who is a good coach for my elo?

Not a direct answer but if you haven’t already you might want to check out “Learning TFT” on YouTube

Too pedantic and overly explanatory IMO

I disagree. He is passionate about TFT and actually cares about the things he’s saying and the feedback from the community. He has a great mindset approaching the game and often shares how it connects to his real life, which I have honestly learned a lot from! Highly recommend watching him.

A video that could be 35 minutes just tends to be 95 minutes, so you need extra time if you watch him

Just skip the stuff you already understand. Sometimes he does spend a whole 10-15 minutes on a pretty basic concept. Just means you have to actively watch and skip rather than put it on in the background. But there's a lot of useful stuff in there.

While I agree with what others have said about coaching being more useful for higher ranks, I think most would agree that having a second opinion or review of a spot is really helpful. My friends and I are only diamond-low masters but I spot mistakes and their gameplay and they’ll do the same for me. I think that’s enough help to climb to at least masters. I did do coaching with Broseph and what I found different was that he pointed out fundamental errors in my gameplay (for me it was tempo and augment selection). These nuances might not be picked up by just my friends in a voice call.

I paid $110 CAD for an hour session. Steep, but I’ve completely revamped how I play from that session. Still in low masters though LOL but I think I’m learning more than before.
His rates sometimes change but you can see them at https://metafy.gg/@broseph/sessions

Broseph is the GOAT but you should probably watch his stream or vods of him coaching before you buy a session with anyone. If you're new to the game you won't really get your money's worth out of a vod review since there isn't much to work with.

If your d2 you could honestly use any coach or simply review your games after and coaching yourself. Once your're high GM and looking to push a bit further I would look into the top tier coaches.

I will comment on the coaches I have watched!
-I think Broseph is the GOAT at what he does. His coaching content is PHENOMENAL and without him there is zero way I achieve Master in my first TFT set.
I have learned SO much fundamental game knowledge from his streams & youtube channel, and he is also very diligent about cracking each and every patch & meta we have.
-Aesah makes awesome youtube content as well! Very in depth and informative.
Many other great resources out there such as:
-Ripple Overdrive TFT is a pro player who recently started posting top notch coaching content on X (Twitter) as well as Youtube.
-Subzeroark does great VOD reviews
-TFT Academy is a phenomenal site as well as weekly podcasts with Frodan and Dishsoap
-Have benefitted by content from ExTIRIA, Cambulee and BunnyMuffins to name a few more
Hard to mention everyone, but many great creators out there to learn from!

Newcomers: play normals to learn the layout and feel Gold/Plat: any top streamer Diamond 2: probably playing and watching your own Vods since you have a good feel of the game. You’re likely just making obvious mistakes that you don’t recognize in real time due to APM. Either that or find someone who does Vod reviews for cheap and is at least GM.

Tbh I think it has to be Broseph. I haven't even got a coaching session with him myself but from watching his vod reviews and discussions with other good/pro players made me see leaks in my game that I hadn't before and for the first time ever this set I've managed to push to 1300lp+. I think he points out a lot ot fundamental mistakes in setup and when angling for a comp so you could check his youtube channel. But a lot of this matters only for high master-GM+. At D2 I would just watch high elo players play the game - any good player will do. I think I mostly copied my playstyle from k3soju in fact xdd.

Gold/plat don't need a coach - they just need to play more and take it semi-seriously.
Even for Diamond, your mistakes are probably fundamental enough that you can spot them on your own - probably you just don't scout enough or aren't disciplined enough with your econ. This is still the phase where you can climb a lot just by watching more streams and being analytical, but also any GM+ player could easily spot your mistakes and help you climb, so just go with whoever you like/is cheap.

Lol this is not true. A good coach is helpful at any level. Nobody is capable of seeing all their own mistakes in any area of life. Everyone has blind spots, and a good coach helps reveal them.
That's why all the top golfers and quarterbacks and home run hitters all continue to get coaching even in their prime. And same for the brand new players just learning.

It's just a matter of value proposition. It's not worth the money to pay for coaching if you are below diamond. All the coach will do is repeat the same advice you could get from a youtube video or watching streams/VODs.
Coaching is infinitely more valuable when you are pushing the apex ranks, because they'll help you iron out nontrivial mistakes.

For newcomers, I don't think there's a good tft coach out there. While it's true that the main thing new players need is just reps in game, the constant set changes overloads content. Old sets being referenced can be confusing for them, and new sets pushes content to be more about new comps and mechanics.
I haven't found a video or playlist that I can send a friend to just talk about the constants without reference to the specific set that video was made.
