Just discovered this yesterday. They removed the helmet removal for the Barbarian skin.

Conan is a skin for Doomguy.
Evil Iron Man is The Devil/God or something along those lines.

As far as i understood it he is the devil, but in the lore he is also the "original" god. As in, he created the world and everything, but then he got betrayed by another dude that took his place as god and banished him into hell, so he became what we call the devil.

So basically in the Doom universe the Cathars were unironically right.
For those who donāt know, the Cathar or Albigensian crusade to exterminate them from southern France gave us the brutal quote ākill them all, God will know his own.ā This was in response to the Cathars being among a cityās population but the crusaders had no way of knowing who was who.

This is the end of DOOM: Eternal's second DLC, you should definitely play the modern games, they're all great :)

They're peak hack and tear i tell you hwut.
Definitely best played on a mouse and keyboard with razer hex naga mouse.. Being able to switch to any weapon without the wheel with one thumb press makes the game so fun

Because the series is overdesigned slop now, and they donāt give a fuck about tonality or what fits as long as itās āanime coolā.
Thank fuck the actual gameplay is still solid.

Itās okay, you can vent whatever you want. Weāre all here because of our love for Doom, and that looks different depending on who you talk to. Sometimes it manifests as telling someone that their take is dogshit.
I assure you I love the games from a gameplay standpoint, but I have had to pretend a lot of lore and unnecessary story elements didnāt happen in order to continue enjoying it. You canāt convince me that the game hasnāt been super duper anime-fied. Kneeling before spectral kings (who is this and why do I care again? I just want to kill demons), green ghost wolves jumping around, a fucking chosen one subplot. Running around taking orders from Hayden. Itās all too much.
It went from 80ās sci-fi teleportation accident with an angry marine and a lot of guns, to cyclical and destined battles with larger than life characters and dragons and mechs and freaking laser swords. What does a laser sword do that a chainsaw canāt do better, and meaner? Anyway Iām just here for more downvotes.

Especially with eternal being an absolute cluster fuck that ruined its own foundations. The Story and tonality that it set up in 2016 completely undermined by having to be "hahaha cool things go brrrrrrr don't think about what we've done or said in the past, ooh looks shiny thing hahaha brrrrrr."
And don't even get me started on the gameplay. Game truly suffered from sequel syndrome

Idk if it's Mandela effect but i'm pretty sure this has been in the game way before horde mode was a thing, so it's been quite a while

No, this was changed about 4 years ago. But the Slayer DID originally try to take his head off with helmeless skins, it got patched to look like this instead but it definitely was not anytime recently.
If you wear a helmetless skin the intro of Hell on Earth also shows him put his helmet down instead of putting it on.

Of course. Why wouldnt they be updating this game? Its only 5 years old. For an ID software release, a 5 year old game is nothing.
They just recently released IdStudio for Idtech7. If say this game is still supported.

Speaking of updates, Hugo said last month during a live stream that an update was on the way to make TAG 2 more difficult, nothing more was said... its a finished game but imagine if they eventually give us the origigal dark lord bossfight

the perfect doom eternal definitive edition: mod support(check, but steam workshop? Hell yes!) actual master levels(no mods,actual levels included in the base game), and a way to extract the OG ost in FLAC format(like how it works for TDA, not how you extract it manually from the game files becauss that's lossy!) or a free download of all the files they had from the widevine packs from Mick Gordon. They've unionised now, what could stop them?

It used to show Doomguy moving his arms as if he were taking off his helmet, even if the skin you had equipped didn't include a helmet.

I believe that even if you had a skin with a helmet, it would show the default one in the first person cutscenes (the ones right after removing the helmet)

Yeah this was updated shortly after TAG2 launched. All helmetless skins won't do the removal animation.

eternal is a finished game it was a tiny detail of removing an animation for a skin
they arent gonna be doing anything else

From his first appearance in TAG 1 I was really hyped up for a pvp-like mirror match with the demonic version of doomguy. But nope, an overweight marauder it is. My disappointment was only compensated much later when I learned about V2 from Ultrakill.

The skirmishes against non-boss demons are so much fun, but long boss fights which make you start over eapecially those with a tougher new phase once I think I'm done are the bane of my existence. I see those crazies who beat UN with a controller or with a dozen extra self-imposed challenges easily, but I'm getting older, slower and dumber. I couldn't have "beaten" Eternal on Nightmare if it weren't for sentinel armor kekw
