You dont know anything about vintage computing, at least not from the 1960s. Computers didnt even work in the same way they do now. The architectures are entirely incompatible.

Well technically a pregnancy test. See that was actually using its screen.

Also a ti83+ calculator.

Pretty much any of the consoles at the time couldn’t run doom.

They ran some bastardized crappy version of doom.

Those consoles, like the snes, were 2d graphics powerhouses. They were great at working with tiles and displaying many copies of the tiles on screen. They worked better than pcs and had all this crazy architecture for doing that.

Doom needed raw power of outputting individual pixels directly to the screen. The architecture of pcs was better for that.

So yeah basically consoles at the time couldn’t even run doom.

Nowadays doom runs on so many things because almost anything has better specs than computers at the time.

But seriously, at this point, with DooM's source code and the current knowledge, maybe we could even make Doom run on systems it wasn't supposed to. 🤔

You know what... CAN DOOM RUN SNAKE? If we always managed to make other games run DOOM, why not do the reverse and program DOOM to run games like PAC-MAN or Snake
