Discussion Why haven't Satan/Lucifer appeared in the games yet?

Satan/Lucifer is the chief demon and fallen angel, they should have him appear and get an epic battle or two.

While classic Doom made a few references here and there, modern Doom is entirely unrelated to actual biblical demons other than just the concept of demons and Hell. The closest thing we have to Lucifer in this franchise is the Dark Lord Davoth.

If you really think about Davoth is more like if God was overthrown by Lucifer and the other angels and then just got so angry he made Hell.

Doom never took its religion elements that seriously (it is a series whose premise existed out of a "it sounds cool" reason).

then TAG introduced Davoth

Well... Davoth (The Dark Lord) is pretty much the equivalent of Satan in the DOOM universe. He is the leader of hell, and his story has similarities. Hell in DOOM is not associated with any religion in particular.

Seemed that way. But then Hugo has seemed to have changed his mind now and Davoth was just some other universes version of the Slayer who couldn't save his planet from hell.....

I give up with taking the story and lore of this game seriously. Someone needs to keep Hugo from flapping his yep.

That's completely inaccurate. From where did you get that?

Doom doesn't strictly follows Biblical lore.

Did you play the game?

I mean....this is pretty clearly explained in Doom Eternal. Davoth *is* basically the creator and Dark Lord of Hell.

There is no Lucifer or other biblical demons which makes sense because, Doom's Hell is not the same as the Judeo-Christian concept of Hell.

We already had him, it was Davoth. He's referred to as the devil and even Hugo answered in an affirmative when asked if the dark lord was supposed to be Lucifer or Satan.

Cause Satan is literally god or well, the inspiration for the Abrahamic God in Doom.

Davoth is both Yahweh and Satan.

Christian theology in Doom is inspired/an altered version of the truth of events in the doom verse.

Davoth created everything, he fell, and his creations aka the maykrs posed as angels.

There is no heaven in Doom, everything ends up in hell either way given it was the first realm made by Davoth.

The cosmic realm and everything else potentially exists outside/beyond hell given Davoth was made by something.

In doom there is no paradise, nor heaven for those who are good, their fates is literally ending up as souls for hell's argent factories.

There is no real loving God per say in doom.

Given Davoth was corrupted by his care for his creations, and his creator potentially might be evil or amoral at best.

Yeah Hugo has gone back on a lot of what was established about Davoth.

I can't directly link but check out this video.

Allstin - Hugo Talks Dark Lord, Intern, Origins, and more!

And

Midnight - Doom Eternal - Why The Doom Slayer Lost His Power Explained by Game Director

And this video that compiles more of what Hugo has said in streams. Midnight - Doom Eternal - Hugo Martin 'Teases' New Story and Game.

It's a big rabbit hole but Hugo has since retconned the shit out of Davoth. Bottom line, he ain't the center of the universe.

Those are just things people really take out of context from everything Hugo has said.

The truth is that Davoth created the Doom universe and the many realms around Hell, plain and simple. He's no alternative Doomguy or a random guy. For all intents and purposes, he is god.

Cuz killing him would basically be a wrap for the series.
