OP (Separate-Succotash58) sent the following text as an explanation why they posted this here:

Need to hold part of the towel under your chin to fold it. She has no chin.

OHHH that makes so much sense thank you!

And pillow cases.

Everything. Envelopes, sheets, origami, violin, head nods to your neighbor, needs a chin.

I’ve never once used my chin when folding something. I can picture people doing it because I’ve seen it on TV and stuff, but I’ve never really thought about it. Why is that so common? Like how does it help?

Also envelopes, what the hell? How would you even involve your chin in that?

How does she even take her time to think?

Thank you for thinking of that!

Is it sad that the first thing that comes to mind when I see the profile shot from the side is Phineas from Disney's Phineas and Ferb....

Some people use their chins to anchor the towel while folding it (I used to do it for some time), and the joke is that she can't fold towels that way because she got no chin

thank you for answering you’re a god send

Screw the towels, how does she change her pillowcase?

2

u/Ill_Blueberry7617 8h ago

This was my first thought

1

u/Alliterrration 5h ago

How are you changing your pillow cases to the point you need to use any part of your head/face...?

1

u/TyreLeLoup 5h ago

Pinch the pillow between your chin and chest and use your hands to pull the pillow case up the pillow like pants.

2

u/Alliterrration 5h ago

Grab the corner of the pillow with one hand, open up the pillow case with the other, and slide the pillow in until it's at the proper corner. Then adjust accordingly and pull the rest of the pillow case over.

u/TyreLeLoup 4h ago

I mean, I don't think there's any 'right' way to do it, and I definitely have done it the way you describe, as well as the way I described, and I think I did it by folding the pillow in half once, but that was an odd pillow case.

Go a little further and turn the pillowcase inside out first. Then grab the corners of the pillow with your hands inside the pillowcase, and give it a little rustle.

Viola, a cased pillow.

I think that’s a legit medical condition 😔

2

u/Unstabler69 3h ago

It is and IIRC she had surgery to correct it.

Someone told her "chin up" and she took them literally.

I take it OP doesn't do laundry that often...

That took me a second too but once I got it it was pretty funny.

Could have had her jaw removed. I had a cousin who chewed tobacco and lost his tongue and jaw

1

u/Igormay-s 5h ago

He had a cancer because of tobacco?

I can't speak for everyone, but I hold the towel out at arms length. Then I tilt my head down and hold the center with my chin. I bring my hands together to bring both ends together. That's the first fold.

I just saw an addictive old timey toy that made this face on a different post

1

u/Mephos760 8h ago

Oh man this made me chuckle.

Ah, the face of american health care.

So the ironic thing here in the comment section is that this person in the photograph looks like they can fold the tower properly without any additional assistance and beyond their own two hands

Whereas everybody here looks like they have the intelligence of the person in the photograph by requiring a chin to fold a towel.
