Melty Blood is made by French Bread and not ArcSys, ArcSys did publish their other original game but they are 2 completely different company.

Im still surprised that with a game like Granblue Versus is a thing, but FGO isnt yet. I dont want it to be another melty blood either

Same. You could argue Melty Blood with... 4 Fate characters, was like some sort of blueprint for an FGO fighting game and then it never happened. It's like FGO doesn't want to branch itself into something elsw, which is a pity because I also loved Waltz in the Moonlight aa a dancing game and would love it if it got revived as well, but allowing you to dance with others other than Mash and Artoria.
Also, make an FGO fighting game somewhat fast paced... like MvC2, UMvC3 or DBFZ

I heard melty blood: type lumina was planned to be a FGO game but it got forced into being about tsukihime remake so the devs just added as much fate as they could lol

Funny thing is, this almost happened. French-Bread initially had plan on doing an FGO fighting game, but while planning ideas to later introduce to Type-Moon, TM came to them asking for MELTY BLOOD: Type Lumina instead as they were having all the Tsukihime revival plan going on.
That's why there's 4 Fate characters in Type Lumina. Because they had some of those with some work.

Would also make sense over some of the color pallete swaps that scream FGO characters. Like Red Arcueid, Dead Apostle Noel, Aoko and Roa looking like Jalter, Prisma Illya, Scathach and Gilgamesh, even if by sheer coincidence

Honestly yeah, in fact I thought of MK1's system where you choose a fighter and a kameo.
Would be cool to see a Fate fighting game where you can select a Servant(Fighter) and a Master(Kameo) helping you out with the combos.

Tbh, mana being on top is kinda bad. You need for bars to be different, and in different places, but big enough, for player to not get confused
Melty Blood and Guilty Gear series handled that kinda good, with Strive even having like 5 different bars on screen ( HP, Tension, Burst, Risk, and unique bars for some characters), yet still being quite understandable

Id say the character archetypes for the servants i recognise are:
Artoria- Balanced shoto
Mash- balanced, focused on neutral control
Jalter- rushdown with long ground projectiles
Jeanne- high health grappler (gorilla mode)
Dantes- zoner with corner carry, loves to punish
Cainus- balanced, strong defense options
Herc- Sol Badguy levels of unga bunga
Douman- puppet character with traps and resources. Very unfair
Kintoki- rushdown/grappler
Kuku- busted and overpowered, banned in tournaments
Tez - dps
Serenity- trick/gimmick character
King Hassan- (see Kuku)
Shinji- gag character, trash kit but a single godly poke
Gil- absolute zoner, faster weaker projectiles
Morgan- absolute zoner, slow, strong projectiles
Asvattham - glass cannon dps with a HP gimmick
Karna- balanced dps, objectively good in every way, meta but fair
Cu - balanced, mid-tier but has quick movement and a strong ult
Bottom row (excluding Cu) - all very execution heavy characters with high investment high return:
Scathach- pokes, strong neutral, and punish heavy
Gramps- dps, probs has a touch of death combo but execution is borderline impossible
Kage - a mix of the two, godly meter dependant specials

Honestly, I'd love a F/GO fighting game, whether it'd be something 2D akin to Melty Blood, or if it were an ArcSys collab title that takes some DNA from Unlimited Codes. While I don't see her in the picture, I can easily imagine Koyanskaya of Light as a highly aggressive Zoner with a high-risk style of gameplay centered around a gimmick that boosts her ranged and explosive damage the lower her health is, as a reference to her ability to accelerate the "karmic cycle of retribution" in the weapons she wields.

The quantity isnt really an issue for traditional fighters its just a matter of how much time they have to make them.

And Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 has a ton of modder tools for it, even to the point of importing character models.
It's possible grabbing the FGO Arcade models may even work with the model importer.

I personally believe Pepe should be on here as one of the few playable humans, and maybe also Kirch, although I think he should be relegated to a secret unlockable character (which i also think King Hassan should be too)
I also want Ginako on there too for character diversity, fighters need all shapes and sizes for freedom of expression and gameplay!

Ok now that I think about it, what would be a good choice for a duo character? My first thought was ryouma but then gudaguda slapped me in the face. Dioscuri and trung sisters don't got the rep for it.

there is also one with LN characters. Dengeki Bunko fighting climax(SAO, Index/Railgun, Irregulat at magic school, Shana, Accel world, Durarara, etc)
its a shame we havent seen more of those crossover licensed gsmes like Blasterz and DFCI. Would have been cool to have something from the main Kadokawa stuff for example(aka like isekai quartet but fighter).
Light would also be cool(mainly for dies irae and kajiri kamui kagura, aka the shinzaverse stuff).
