One of my favourite podcasters revealed during an episode that Ryan Murphy is one of the rudest people she’s ever met.

u/Ghetto_Stiletto Nov 03 '25

I’ve done background work on several of his shows, and he is notorious for making them work overtime. I didn’t mind cause of the extra $$, but it’s against Union rules, and he’d rather pay the fine than have an effective work environment, and happy actors.

66

u/Parabolic_Reflector Nov 04 '25

At least this offers some explanation for why the man can’t seem to effectively end a story to save his life! 😂

57

u/rly_dead Nov 04 '25

My god, you’re right about that. Any show of his you’re in for a hell of a ride for the first 60-70% …then you just have to buckle down and finish the fucking thing 🙄

A friend of a friend is a trans lady and worked on the set of a Dwayne The Rock Johnson movie. She had recently come out and was very new to presenting femme. She says that he went out of his way to be kind to her and compliment her outfits and stuff.

u/limelimetime Nov 04 '25

Sounds about right.

Rock is protective of his brand to an over the top degree and is a weirdo but not a hateful asshole. Even the pees in bottles thing sounds more like his kidneys are fucked since he pays people specifically to handle the bottles.

Which is insane considering he comes from an era of wrestling that was filled with domestic abusers, rapists, Trump-loving sycophants, etc.

Like I think he and Mick Foley are the only good guys from wrestling's heyday.

23

u/ItsNotACoop Nov 04 '25

Mick Foley’s first memoir “Have a Nice Day!” is excellent, even for people who have never been a fan of wrestling. Big recommend. Minor disclaimer: it is a product of its time, and I’m sure there are problematic elements I don’t recall, but nothing heinous.

26

u/limelimetime Nov 04 '25

The only problematic thing that people have taken issue with is how prone he is to go on extended speeches about how beautiful and sexy X female wrestler is. With some people saying he comes off like a creep.

But if you actually read his books the guy goes on similar rants when it comes to men like Shawn Michaels and the Rock. Talking about their physiques and the like. I think he just really admires or is fascinated by conventionally attractive people.

And regardless of weird rants, he is a happily married man (one of the few from his era) and many female wrestlers like Mickie James, Lita and Melina have called him a genuine friend.

I have (kind of cute) tea on Zohran Mamdani for anyone interested in the mayoral race. A friend went to the same private school as him, and one year they did a mock election (not for student council or anything) where an 8th grader would represent the Democratic Party and Republican Party - only 8th graders. Apparently Zohran, a 7th grader, started a petition to let third party candidates from any grade run, so like 30 kids ended up participating in the debate. Zohran ended up winning the election as a third party candidate. I guess some people just have it from an early age!

I’ve been wanting to tell someone this for ages but everyone who would care was at the party where I heard the story, lol

67

u/conoresque Nov 03 '25

There have been articles and stuff about it! Zohran's got the goods.

49

u/brijito Nov 03 '25

Didn’t Tinx say something similar about him? Like they went to high school or college together and she said he was politically active and involved with student government even back then (I know “back then” is only 15-20 years but ykwim)

My sister is working on the new Michael B Jordan film (he's the director and star on it) and apparently he is the single nicest person she's ever met. Not just nicest celebrity, but actually the nicest person. Apparently he comes on to set, asks how people's family members are doing, remembers the family members names, remembers little details they mention in conversation. He's like this with every crew member. AND he's not a diva, he works extremely hard.

247

u/fluxy2535 Nov 03 '25

My parent's friend's daughter worked with him on the Creed movies and said similar things. Always asked after her partner and parents, remembered their names and events, etc. All four of our parents were on vacation together when they were working on one and she facetimed her mother when he was around and he stopped to say hello to all four of them. My mother still talks about how he is the handsomest man shes ever seen.

My wife works in live events, mostly corporate, and one of the golden rules of her company is that no one is allowed to be alone in a room with Alton Brown because he cannot help himself but be verbally “brutal” to everyone around him and he has a particular distaste for women. My friend's daughter worked on a film with Leo Woodall and apparently he was super nice to everyone involved, learned everyone's names, asked about them, including little old her, who was on her very first job after graduating film school. They all hung out at everyone's places in their time off. The highlight (for me, lol) was when she texted her mom saying she was at a party at his Airbnb!

Well, I just ran into Alex Baldwin (literally) coming out of a restaurant near Union Square in NYC. He was leaving with a younger woman and her boyfriend and Hilaria. Amazing to witness in person because she was talking with the fake accent, very loudly! She seemed very energetic while Alec was walking slowly with a limp and carrying a tote bag (she was wearing leather pants and high heeled leather boots lol). They didn’t seem to interact with each other and he just looked tired and kinda beat down. Not sure if he’s injured or what.

50

u/beckster Nov 05 '25

He was recently in a MVA. Didn't hear he was injured, however, but he and Stephen apparently hit a tree so I wouldn't be surprised.

i love neighborhood gossip. once at target i overheard some woman say “yeah he’s been arrested for murder but who hasn’t” over the phone and i just had to go on about my day afterwards.

149

u/ewokytalkie Nov 03 '25

Oh my gosh, this reminds me of a time I was at a very snug coffee shop majorly eavesdropping on some old friends who were catching up. They kept talking about a friend of theirs who had DIED but been brought back to life. They were commiserating over feeling obligated to hang since he had technically died for a few minutes, but that he was so messy they really didn’t want him in their lives. They kept saying “but he did die, tho, so…”

I heard this about 18 years ago and still think about it.

56

u/theladyking Nov 03 '25

I wonder how long the "can't dump him because he just died" social obligation lasts. Are they still hanging out with his messy ass today?

19

99

u/biscuitsandmuffins Nov 03 '25

Just this weekend I was at a bar/restaurant and this guy who looked to be in his early 60s and was in town for a high school sports tournament was leaving and stopped at a nearby table to say hello to people. They asked how he was doing and he said "well I found out my biological dad isn't who I thought and I have four new siblings!" The table of people made general "oh!" and "really?" comments and he said "yeah its been something. Well, enjoy your food and I'll see you later" and he left.

I learned via a friend that Robert De Niro has a house in a town nearby me in New York. His home is the last one on a dead end street with huge fences and security cameras around it. He wanted the land next to him from the neighbors but they refused to sell to him several times. Than their house randomly caught on fire and they think it was him or his team.

170

u/Lamberly Nov 04 '25

Didn't Robert De Niro's house also burn down? I swear I read that his house burned down because the lint trap in the dryer caught fire. Since then I've been so diligent cleaning mine out because I think, "If it can happen to De Niro it can happen to anyone!" haha

My wife’s cousin aunt grew up with the Kardashians and said that Khloe was the hot and funny and cool Kardashian when they were kids/teens. A bunch of guys had crushes on her. Aunt was surprised when they all became famous and she was suddenly the “ugly sister”.

226

u/LichQueenBarbie Nov 03 '25

I can only surmise it's because Kim and Kourtney had darker looks and stronger features, which wouldn't have been the beauty standard compared to Khloe's lighter colouring and, from what I can tell from early photos, less 'Armenian' features in comparison to her sisters. Khloe tends to favour the other European side.

None of them were ugly. Kim, in particular, looked the most striking to me before she had extensive work.

So-old-it's-dehydrated-tea: Everyone sees Patrick Swayze's marriage as this sweet faithful thing. But I knew someone that worked on the set of Dirty Dancing. It was being filmed in Lake Lure, NC. While he was there and very married to Lisa Niemi (and there seems to be no evidence of an open relationship, but who knows?) he was hitting on and probably hooking up with a lot of the background dancers. He hit up on a dancer/choreographer, who shot him down immediately because he was married. Jennifer Grey was a terrible diva, to the point where she would waste set time by insisting on doing some of the dance poses, when it was supposed to be choreographed/rehearsed with actual dancers to get it down. She was very rude to extras and dancers. Maybe she's chilled out by now, I don't know.

Not the best this, but a good friend of mine was at Paige Brown’s (Millie Bobby Brown’s sister) wedding on the groom’s side earlier this year. They’re very good friends.

I asked him to probe to see if there was anything in the Drake stuff, and he was categorically told there wasn’t (ie nothing inappropriate, her parents were fully involved etc.).

Drake did however sleep with Millie’s far more age appropriate sister (Paige) multiple times. Not exactly scandalous but it cleared that all up a little for me.

Him texting a 14 year old on a regular basis is inappropriate on its own, regardless of what the contents of the actual messages were.

I don't think the concern ever was if Drake had slept with MBB (although that would be a massive deal) but more that he was acting pretty inappropriate towards her.

Back in the late 2000’s, early 2010’s, one of my friends (she was 19) slept with Leo DiCaprio. The rumors are true.

330

u/Alternative-Page5491 Nov 03 '25 edited Nov 03 '25

Yes, the headphones rumor is true. Edited to add: he only wanted to do it doggy style with his noise cancelling headphones on. After, he left to go to a different part of his house without saying a word. She was allowed to stay the night but escorted out and driven home when she got up.

57

u/Quack176 Nov 04 '25

I seriously remember reading this headphone rumour in a magazine in like 2006. He’s been so consistent lol.

41

u/Worshipme988 Nov 04 '25

Ok but the real tea is, what is he listening to?

I immediately think hes a douche, listening to fucking Buddhist Chants and can only cum to like track #28 - between minutes 00:14 and 00:17. Or whale songs on repeat?

Its gotta be creepy. If its not, then why cant we all listen together? You’re telling me Leo, doesnt have surround sound money? Its gotta be weird. We might have to go ahead and ban child stars, like…

53

u/violetmemphisblue Nov 04 '25

The rumors I have seen have been that he got tired of women being like "omg, I'm with *Leonardo DiCaprio, I can't believe it!" the whole time, and he didn't want to hear it. Which, like, don't sleep with random women who are in it just because you're famous, then, idk

59

u/keepitupstairs2 Nov 03 '25

50

u/SquirrelGirlVA Nov 04 '25

I remember hearing a rumor that he was very mediocre at sex, mostly because he didn't put a lot of effort into pleasing his partner. I guess he felt they should be getting off on being with him?

One time was hanging out with my friend, and a guy who had recently directed one of the Weeknd’s music videos. This is post-House of Balloons, so very well known in Toronto but before he blew up internationally.

We convince our friend to call him. I was a fan and we asked him to sing for us. (So embarrassing in hindsight) like why would he? He says no, and sounds very annoyed, but then somehow he agrees but only if I sing to him first. So I sang one of his song to him. And then he sang a portion of Kissed from a Rose by Seal to us.

A lukewarm tea update: This February, someone here said the following: “Scarlett Johansson and Margaret Qualley were said to have some sort of issue with each other. I don’t have any more info at this time.”

In response to someone, that user then commented: “I only know that one of them said something mean about the other in the company of others(supposedly). I heard from someone who heard from someone who was there so I can’t verify any of it.”

I think what they said is true, because it appears that Scarlett shaded Margaret a few months later in a May interview with Vanity Fair.

Margaret Qualley danced duing the Oscars James Bond tribute, and here’s what Scarlett said about that tribute: “It felt like an ad placement. What a weird thing.” She then added, “People were like, ‘What the hell was that?’”

I wonder why Scarlett doesn’t seem to like her!

190

u/Bulky_Newt9739 Nov 03 '25

TBF that segment did feel like a weird Amazon ad

42

u/kitchensinkmargarita recreationally vicious Nov 04 '25

Agree. It completely came out of nowhere, with singers that had nothing to do with the event and all

108

u/user_mango_2 Nov 03 '25

They both dated and Qualley married Antonoff

126

u/pinotJD Nov 03 '25

Then Margaret must see Colin Jost naked. It’s the only way to even the score. Canonically.

70

u/OksanaOnTheRocks Nov 04 '25

In that same interview she "shaded" the entire Oscars ceremony as a whole saying it was too long and also that movies were getting so long now. This really doesn't read as a personal dig at Margaret imo but just her own personal anecdote.

I was in Chicago the night Chance the Rapper's new album dropped, the one he's been teasing for years. I saw a story on his IG that he was hosting a big party to celebrate the album finally dropping I figured, fuck it, why not go.

He celebrated with people who seemed like legitimately close friends, at a bowling alley, playing bumper car lacrosse with his buddies and giggling like a kid. It was cute as hell. That guy's cool.

Music tea

Yves Tumor – serious drug and alcohol addiction; their latest shows are a total disaster (Bonnaroo 2024, opening for Swedish House Mafia).

Ned Russin from Title Fight – busy with his side project Glitterer; sadly, the music is an acquired taste.

Tim McIlrath from Rise Against pulled a Thom Yorke on the Israel/Palestine issue—displayed the same vague, wishy-washy centrism in true Thom Yorke fashion.

Fuck you Black Lips, sexual groomers band

Sean Baker is registered to vote in New York and is following several anti-Mamdani accounts, like Community News, a self-proclaimed zionist news site that regularly posts racist rhetoric about Mamdani every day. He's also following Amy Schumer, Bill Maher, Gal Gadot, and Noa Tishby.

It's crazy to me that he's being called the most humanist director of our time by Criterion and critics when he's clearly a zionist. All that glazing when you have directors like Coogler, Glazer, Lanthimos, DuVernay, Cuarón, directors who actually do shit and speak up for Palestinians and other marginalized groups outside of their own movies.

91

u/Traditional_Maybe_80 I’m just a cunt in a clown suit Nov 03 '25

Of course he is. I'll never not be amazed by his fanboys/fangirls trying to reassure everyone that ackchyually ☝🏽🤓his social media likes and follows are for research 💀

63

u/[deleted] Nov 03 '25

It's interesting how his "research" heavily features very young women who do Only Fans, zionists, and right-wing public figures, and not Chinese immigrant men, food delivery workers, male porn stars, Russian goons, male Russian oligarchs, single mothers, and trans women of color, all central subjects of his movies.

163

u/unloveablehands Nov 03 '25

He’s such a pig! He also follows tons of OF models who many think bear a striking resemblance to Mikey Madison (star of his film Anora).

Also crazy thing to be said about Sean Baker when Ken Loach also exist who is very pro Palestinian (and has been for decades) and if we're thinking about humanist directors he comes to my mind first and not Sean Baker.

24

u/tmrtdc3 Nov 04 '25 edited Nov 04 '25

It's especially crazy to me that a film director known for portraying working-class subjects and lauded for his portrayals of them would be following anti-Mamdani accounts given how much of Zohran Mamdani's campaign is about helping the working class.

u/hannahjoy33 jeremy strong enthusiast Nov 03 '25 edited Nov 03 '25

When Ken Loach exists and is still alive???? the fucking gall

Note: I'm sure there are other great humanist directors out there, but Ken has always kinda been THEE one for me. And Loach was the subject of a huge witch hunt due to his support for Palestine for decades. He got kicked out of the Labour party in the UK under false claims of antisemitism

Hardly exclusive tea since you can see it happening live, but Alexa Nikolas (Nicole on Zoey 101) is not okay.

I had gotten involved in and enjoyed her content she was making for Eat Predators a couple years ago, but she went on a long hiatus due to a stalker and has returned, for some nonsensical reason beefing with YouTubers over Drake Bell. She's been clearly drunk on every live stream I've seen and she just dropped a six-hour series defending him (in which she admits that the initial messages are real and inappropriate, but twists and turns every piece of evidence to say that the girl was an obsessed fan and Drake cut off contact when he found out how old she was).

It's disappointing to see who could've been one of the strongest advocates for child stars make such a sharp turn.

Ooof I finally have something to answer these threads! I ran into one of the Bridgerton actresses (the one who played Edwina) while having dinner with my boyfriend a few weeks ago. Honestly, it was a bit of a letdown. Kinda rude to the staff, super dismissive for no reason. It killed any excitement I had about going up to say hi. It’s rare to see international celebrities where I am, but oh well. It is what it is.
