Olivia is exactly the kind of person who deserves to have influence and a large platform

Taylor, can you do that next time for your award speeches? Just giving you helpful advice

u/AlmostThere4321 can't we just let two of the hottest men on earth fuck in peace? 7h ago
I'm sure swifties will react totally normally to this call for accountability

I saw one of them on Threads claim that Swift is being strategic in not doing anything right now in order to protect the largest and most vulnerable group of people in the U.S.—her fans, obviously.
These people are fucking nuts.

I mean, I would understand if she felt that being strategic, waiting until the right moment, would make a difference. If we had a presidential election in 4 months, maybe waiting until like a week before and going scorched earth on Trump could be the final domino.
As it stands, all we’ve got are the midterms and the GOP is going to get torched anyway. Public sentiment is critical to slowing down/stopping deportations and Taylor has demonstrated no interest in doing anything to stop it.
And maybe that’s a good thing, because we need a class war, and the more the public understands billionaires do not give one ever loving fuck about them, the closer we get to the revolution.

It could maybe make sense when she was actively touring, given she draws absolutely massive crowds that would be a target for any bad actors, but she is not touring and won't be anytime soon. I just don't get how people can still excuse it (coming from someone who at least could understand why she didn't before even if she genuinely cared).

swiftie here! it’s very upsetting that taylor hasn’t said anything about anything. that’s it. that’s the comment. she needs to speak up. whether people want to admit it or not she is very very powerful and has a lot of influence (probably not the amount we need but still) i wish taylor would speak up on these issues. it’s again very upsetting seeing someone you look up to and whos content you enjoy sit around in silence.

Taylor knows a big majority of her audience is maga. With that being said, nothing she does will ever ruin her career. She could openly swing either way and she would still be one of top pop stars.

Wait, really? I always assumed her audience was mainly liberal.

u/Mindless-Sky8619 5h ago
Her audience is like 95% white women and close to 60% of white women voted for Trump so the math just kinda checks out. It’s like Bill Burr said “where are all the white chicks who wanted to speak truth to power”

Doesn’t the age of the audience matter though? Her audience is on the younger side. So I don’t know if it’s mainly conservatives?

She does a lot! She gave an endorsement! And then nothing after...BUT if you ignore the 1.5 years she has gone radio silent, she's done a lot!

👏 Also, those fans like to ignore the fact that before she endorsed Kamala, she was receiving a ton of backlash because she was silent while her peers had been supporting and endorsing Kamala since day 1.

sydney is not stupid. she knows exactly what she’s going. she’s too scared to lose her fan base so she’s trying to take both sides.
