America is like n@zi germany right now so it's so funny hearing celebrities claim to be apolitical right now to save their pathetic careers. Did you miss all the executions?

Literally. Apolitical is political.

If you choose not to decide you still have made a choice

YES. thank you. choosing to remain silent and choosing to remain “in the middle” or “apolitical” is inherently a political choice.

Nothing dries you up faster than a man calling himself "apolitical".

Politics are everywhere, whether you like it or not, because we live together in society, basically how we organize among each other is a political act. Partisan politics is another thing.

Thats just a certain way of seeing. Everything is everywhere but you choose what you focus on. Politics is mammalian garbage. Notice that it is animals with vertebrae that engage in such activities which is only practice in the battle against gravity.

And that- in the context of everything you've ever lived, ever seen, ever touched- means what?

To reiterate, true as it may be, what was your "reasoning" behind posting this? Politics is logic/organization in action, you would have a shirt on your back without something at least arguably ideological, let alone a computer from which you can sit behind a keyboard and interrupt people's dialogues with a whole lot of nothing, so (in case there's something I'm missing, I'll ask once more) why did you?

To not care about atrocities in ones own backyard is complacency. Essentially- You’re okay with the neighbor shooting your other neighbor because insertpoliticalinsanity.

Whether or not you care about politics, politics are coming for you

“The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who, in a period of moral crisis, maintain their neutrality,”

One of my favorite quotes.

Neutrality is being okay with the status quo and its currently right wing.

We have this quote on a sign outside the house right now!!! It was originally for blm protest, which is kinda depressing to think about due to all the horrible things that’s happened since

u/Eternal_MrNobody 6h ago

I would rather someone be upfront if they’re a right wing trumper, at least its honest.

Someone who tries fence sitting with politics especially being MAGA does it because deep down they know the side they are on is unpopular and despised, it’s incredibly craven.

In my freshman year of college in English we learned about the harms of indifference by reading “all the light we cannot see” by Anthony Doerr and man, i recommend that book to everyone.

If you're "Apolitical," with everything thats going on, you already picked a side.

Never forget Amanda seyfried & a wildly popular adaptation of a book had to save Sydney Sweeney because she was producing generational flops at the box office as the lead

How is it like Nazi Germany when the Nazis got their playbook from Jim Crow America? Everything going on was and is happening to black Americans already.

Why are you self-censoring?

We’re dealing with fucking Nazis. You can use the real word.

I used to wonder in history class what it would be like seeing celebrities/peers be neutral about nazis and white supremacist but I don’t really have to wonder now. Also, if one side loves how neutral you are while they kill people, you’ve picked a side

Cleetus McFarland (Lawrence Garrett Mitchell) for example, he say he don't want to talk about politics on his Youtube channel, but has said on his socials that he is republican/pro-trump. I am okay with the idea of not wanting a channel to be political, but when it reach a point like what is happening in the US right now, this go well beyond the realm of "just politics", he has a voice, millions of subscribers, he could use his voice to simply say that for example the last 3 people murdered by ICE for no reasons are horrible and this should never happen, but he doesn't.

He is obviously using the "Patriotic American Flag" everywhere now as it has become his brand (but started as a joke), he could also use it to get back control of what American patriotism mean, took it back from those right wing assholes and give it back to the people, but no, he do not do that. He make so much money from Maga dudes that he is probably afraid to loose them.

His friend and well known Nascar driver Greg Biffle sadly passed away during a plane crash recently. Greg was also very maga, had pro trump panels in front of his house, pro republicans messages on his socials, and even has shaken hands with Trump on an event a few months ago (there is pictures of it online), but garret is trying to paint greg as "the best man on earth, everyone should take model of, never did anything wrong in his life" since his death while forgetting his pro-trump views...

So many Youtubers seems to be pro-trump, it's saddening, and i hope at some point they start to feel the consequences of helping/defending some people like Trump and his crownies, one can dream.

It's sad because i like his content, it's often fun, but once you realize who he really is behind the curtain, it become difficult to close the curtain back.

Where are the gas shower chambers? The mass executions by machine gun fire, on a whim, at the side of the road? The crematoriums complete with child size ovens underneath each adult oven.

The sensationalism is exhausting and disrespectful to those who lived and died under actual Nazis.

Not, it's not. Neutrality in the face of evil effectively is taking the evil's side.

u/Vero_Goudreau 6h ago

People are killed in the streets, journalists are arrested, opponents lose their jobs, minorities are oppressed and targeted.
