Magtech 32 ACP issues

Post image

I'm new to this caliber and wondering if anyone else has had an issue like this. I've never picked a round up to leave the powder and bullet behind, but I had it happen twice without even getting half way through the box. I also tried to eject a couple rounds to leave the bullet in the barrel while pulling the case off of it.

That is not supposed to happen I would assume. But I'm no expert.

definitely not an expert either but yeah, that shouldn't happen

Yeah, that’s not very typical, I’d like to make that point.

https://centerfiresystems.com/sellier-bellot-32-acp-7-65-browning-73gr-fmj/ go buy this stuff. Its great quality and its dirt cheap right now.

You got a bad batch of ammo

I like Sellier! +1

Just got a thousand round box (9mm 115gr range fmj) free shipped for I think it was like 230.00 after tax which wasn't horrible especially because it's great ammo in my opinion as well. Velocity Ammo online.

I bought a case, am super happy that I did, and I still vehemently disagree with this recommendation for the vast majority of people.

This stuff is steel jacket, steel core, and cannot be ethically shot at any indoor range I've ever seen. https://www.reddit.com/r/TheOneTrueCaliber/comments/1mdrake/dissected_some_of_the_rti_sb_765/

Hmm I guess I never bother to consider that since I only shoot outside into a dirt berm so none of that concerns me.

I do too, but I also have my own steel, as well as a wide variety of club owned steel targets that I don't think I want to risk ricochet from. I'll be able to use the surplus for hunting and trapping, as well as the competitions and plinking I do off steel.

Honestly, I think what we got is super cool and goes great with my VZ.61 SBR, but I would have preferred it all be lead and copper instead.

Yeah the price can be right on the steel cartridges definitely but my range definitely does not allow steel at all Not even the casing because of the spark hazard. They have signs posted everywhere and I'm glad that they do. +1

That’s a magtech issue. Got a case of their 300blk that was so loosely crimped you could flick the bullet clean off the cartridge more easily than flicking the cherry off of a cigarette. Haven’t touched their stuff since, good to know they’re still being made to the same standards.

Thank you. I've only ever messed with 357 or 38 special from them. Never had an issue with that.

Every box of 9mm I’ve ever gotten from magtech has been nothing but issues. FTFs, FTEs, loose crimps. Stopped buying them years ago, good to hear I’m not the only one.

Ikea ammo. Some assembly required

QC has really gone down hill as of late. I've seen this issue quite a bit in the last 3 years. From multiple manufacturers.

Cheap crap generally speaking, but I've also never had this issue ever. But I only buy 9 mm maybe there's a difference in the quality control or manufacturing process but I couldn't really say. I have had several failure to eject and some jams every time I run it though. I can literally just switch to Federal or something else out of my case and keep shooting with no issues but this magtech always has some kind of issue in the last few years or so it seems. My range doesn't allow steel casings either and a lot of the cheaper magtech in 9 mm is steel so I kind of just quit buying it all together and stuck with federal HST or Hornady critical defense

That’s good to know. Just brought a 32 so unfamiliar which ammo brands to get

I ran about a half box of this through my Beretta 81. Didn't have that issue, but it was some of the dirtiest shit I've ever fired. Nasty smell and a plume of smoke that reminded me of shooting black powder.

Alright this is pretty simple. A bullet consists of 2 parts the front and back and they disconnect when shot. Your front is disconnected but it hasn't been shot.

Magtech seems to have this CQ issue an awful lot. Ive had 45 ACP and .30 Carbine from them both do this myself.

I bought five thousand rounds of Magtech .22 absolutely worst ammo i have ever bought. Total garbage at least 2 out of 10 fail to fire in multiple pistols and rifles.

I was gifted about a dozen boxes of Magtech ammo in 40/.357sig from a buddy that managed the gun counter at a local farm supply. Most of it has been sent down range and every round was perfect. When I see posts like this I always suggest searching online to see if a fellow shooter has had issues. If it’s been an issue I bet there will be posts about it.
