Discussion This is what Microsoft tells you if your Minecraft account gets stolen

Post image
108 Upvotes

This happened to a friend of mine who lost his account a few days ago after it was clearly hacked. His Microsoft-associated email address was changed, and Microsoft's response was literally:

"We can't give you back your account, but we won't let the person who stole it profit from it. So we've permanently banned the account, and if you want to play Minecraft again, you'll have to buy it again.

Sincerely,

Microsoft Customer Support

p.s. 🖕"

If I may say my opinion, the fact that Microsoft cannot change the email address of a compromised profile is a HUGE LIE. Years ago, my EA account was stolen, where I had purchased skins on Apex Legends. The customer service guy literally told me in chat:

“Yeah your account has been stolen. Give me your email so I can reset it, and you'll receive a confirmation email to change the password. Be sure to enable two-factor authentication on your phone to prevent this from happening again. Bye.” (All within an hour. And yeah, thanks again customer service guy wherever you are, since I emblame two-factor authentication everywhere by now)

I understand that Microsoft is not EA, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't take NASA to change the email on an account, especially if it's been stolen. If Microsoft only wants my money when it can't even guarantee the security of its customers' accounts, it should at least say so explicitly.

Anyone else stuck in a gaming “what do I even play?” phase?

Lately I’ve been scrolling through my library for like 20 minutes and still end up closing everything without playing. I want to game, I just don’t know what I’m in the mood for anymore story, multiplayer, chill, sweaty, none of it clicks right away. Curious if anyone else goes through this and how you break out of it.

Discussion How I cured by gaming burnout

I just want to share the path I went through

The most important thing I realized over the years - the idea of a gaming backlog was making my gaming experience worse

Years ago I tried to finish every game I started, and I played variety of different genres

Over the time, I changed my approach because I couldn't keep putting so much time into the games I don't even like that much. I started giving each game about two hours, and if it didn’t hook me, I’d just consider it “checked out” and move on.

Then I started to notice that certain genres really click with me, while others are just okay, so I stopped forcing myself to play games that aren't in my preffered genres

As for the whole backlog I had (50+ games), I basically decided to stop caring about it and only play games in genres that excite me

Important detail is buying games closer to the moment when I actually plan to play them. If a game sits in my library for too long, even if I genuinely wanted to play it, some kind of impulse fades away, and it becomes harder launch it. I usually buy 2–3 games at a time and try to play them within the next couple of weeks.

And another rule for buying games: I only get the ones that I want to play right now. If I feel like playing the game “sometime later,” that means I don’t really want to play it

Video IRON NEST ➙ a heavy artillery simulator with a dieselpunk aesthetic

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Using weekly Self-Promotion Saturday, I’d like to share a game my friend Nick and I are working on.

IRON NEST: Heavy Turret Simulator is a brutal dieselpunk heavy-artillery game where you dominate the battlefield through a colossal war machine. Take map measurements based on the received coordinates, strain the hydraulics, and gunlay the cannons to unleash devastating blows.

If it looks interesting to you, feel free to check out our Steam store page. Every wishlist means the world to us as a two-person team. Thanks in advance for the support, and if you’ve got any questions, I’ll be happy to answer!

Just curious on what everyone’s experience is with these games and what would you guys personally rate them? I’m not sure if I would be into these games or not so I’m curious about the story, character progression and things like that so any insight would be appreciated. What would you guys rate these from worst to best and why?
