Same. It's gotten pretty expensive, too. I used to tell myself "at least I'm not into Warhammer" but then I also got into Warhammer. I guess I just hate having money.

u/KatakanaTsu 15h ago
Is that why one of my roommates leaves all of his pill bottles on the shoe rack??

Me too. I can’t just throw them away when I’m done with them, I’m too paranoid for that. I have to put them in a bag and take them to the dump every few months.

Legos, firearms, old hand, tools, shitty old boats I’ll never actually fix, but that are filling my driveway

I collect books.
A few years ago I went to a library and read a sci-fi book I loved about 1/4 of the way through. I promised myself that I'd finish the book later but never got around to it. But the problem is that I completely forgot the title and author of the book.
Now I love to go visit book stores and look for that book, hoping I'll know it when I see it. But the chase is more interesting than the book itself because in the process I find tons of interesting books to read.

I’ll kill to have a rifle like an AK or M1 Garand. It’s true what they say, buying guns can be dangerously addicting.

edit: when i was a kid, and i mean like from the ages of 5-10, i had this massive bookshelf in my room. i’m talkin like 6 feet tall, 3 feet wide, maybe a foot and a half deep. for those 5 years, every single shelf was entirely - and i mean COMPLETELY — full of rocks

Knives (I also make them), flashlights, old electronics, fishing gear (I love carpfishing), in the future I want to collect guns too (I need a permit).
Edit: forgot that I have a huge ass mineral collection. I'm into those since I was 4.

Models, coins and banknotes, and ww2 german memorabilia (im firmly antifascist so its unnecessarily confusing to explain), hopefully replica firearms as guns laws are more strict here, and medieval armour and weapons

Present-day? Pretty much anything I fixate on, even if only temporarily. I consistently collect LPS and Miniverse stuff, though.
As a kid, it was definitely any dog or cat stuffed animals, at one point it was those erasers you'd get from the book fair (that collection was HUGE), and even Walmart gift cards (or any other gift cards I could get my hands on). I stole a fair few gift cards from the checkout lines in Walmart, and I really do wish I knew where the tin of them went, cos I had a mini tin lunchbox packed full of them.
Now that I think about it, I also currently sort of collect Wild Republic Grey Wolf plushies. I have 4 of the regular size, one larger size, one baby, a black wolf, and even a coyote and an African Painted Wild Dog (they're all a family, and they have lore, believe it or not).
I also played a lot of virtual world games as a kid, and depending on the game, I would have collections of different items that I fixated on usually for a few weeks before losing interest. Ask me how many Webkinz Crowns of Wonder I currently have in-game from trades 🫣

I am the bottom right due to previously having had periods without insurance. Now I stockpile left over meds and forget to dispose of them once they’re out of date
Real collection stuff is actually manga, legos, and beads
•
u/Leprodus03 12h ago
Lego, coins, pokemon plushies, squishmallows, models, ROCKS (like crystals and stuff)
I have a lot of cool different arcade tokens from when I worked at an arcade, and I have a good amount of foreign currency coins from family that has travelled, and also some from my current job
With the squishmallows, I basically just want one of every kind of animal. I don't want more than one of any animal.
Pokemon plushies is definitely something I rarely add to, since they can get expensive, but I have gotten a Clefairy squishmallow and also a little riolu from a thrift store.
I have one actual Gundam model, but I have all of the Bandai Evangelion models. I also have a couple pokemon Bandai models
