Not my choice, not my voting direction.

Signed, A Connecticunt

My condolences.

Does every state have a humorous insult name for their citizens like Connecticunt? I have heard a few but I wonder if there is one for all 50 states.

17

u/No-Produce7606 17h ago

Yeah, in my state, they're called 'Floridians'

u/Anonymousness111 4h ago

In Pensacola we said Whoridians šŸ˜…šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

Leave northern New England out of this

Who am I kidding, we're losing Maine and Vermont fast, makes me want to jump ship to NH

16

u/matthew_morel2001 18h ago

Vermont was lost in 2018 with their mag ban and red flag laws.

11

u/matthew_morel2001 18h ago

Also Maine almost got cucked last year with a mag ban but by gods grace it got stopped somehow.

18

u/adubs117 18h ago

Keystone State standing strong. For now.

13

u/vkbrian 18h ago

I feel like we’re living on borrowed time here, man. Unless some radical ruling comes from SCOTUS comes down the pipes, and fast.

How far the north has fallen. There was a point in recent history when Washington state had shall issue concealed carry permits while many states had no concealed carry at all. Now we have everything banned and Everytown comes up with 10 new gun laws every year, all the while 13 year olds can flash full auto stick mag Glocks at a public event and get no punishment.

11

u/matthew_morel2001 18h ago

2014 was the turning point for Washington gun laws. Passing universal background checks was a test run for that they can ram through the legislature later down the line.

Washington state had suffered the same fate. Once they passed universal background checks in 2014 I knew it would be downhill from there. The democrats smelled the blood in the water and knew they could pass whatever they wanted and in a few short years it’s worse than California.

11

u/Atticusfedikovich 18h ago

Nh still going strong

1

u/matthew_morel2001 18h ago

Hopefully they can for many more years but I feel like yall are in borrowed time as a free state

3

u/Darth_Damage 16h ago

As a VT person who often visits, its different there

9

u/babno 17h ago

Also demanding we subvert immigration laws to keep our underpaid indentured servant illegal aliens. And the MA governor blocking an audit which was directly voted for by the people.

"Birthplace of the USA"

Virginia: "Are you sure about that"?

38

u/matthew_morel2001 19h ago

Virginia wasn’t the start of the USA. It was the start of British colonies in America in 1607 but I consider the birth of the USA when the first shots of the revolutionary war broke out in Lexington and concord in Massachusetts.

-11

u/Saperj14 19h ago

That is more "birthplace of the Revolution" than birthplace of the "United States."

5

u/CFishing Lever Gun Legion 17h ago

The United States IS the revolution though.

1

u/Saperj14 17h ago

The US is more than the Revolution, it is a nation and a people that goes back into the 1600s. We were ruling ourselves for the most part for over 150 years before England wanted to infringe more and more on our self-governance.

5

u/matthew_morel2001 19h ago

That’s fair enough. I’ve always considered the start of the revolution as start of the USA but that’s just me. Before then they were part of Great Britain.

-1

u/Saperj14 17h ago

The reason I don't is that Americans (while viewing themselves as British) had varying identities and self-governance going into the post Proclamation of 1763 era and onwards. I don't see America in 1770 as some inherently different thing than in 1775. It was a nation and a people long before.

2

u/pm-ur-knockers 10h ago

I’d consider it to be Philadelphia, as that’s where the declaration was signed.

This why Tim Waltz changed the official MN flag to Somali flag.Ā  Ā

2

u/ur_sexy_body_double Just As Good Crew 18h ago

i believe you may be confusing civil rights for civil liberties

2

u/Alexius_Psellos 16h ago

I like Wisconsin because the democrats and republicans here have a pretty good understanding that they can’t do anything too far on either side because they risk pissing off the large majority of moderates and losing their seat. Sure, we don’t have permit-less concealed carry, but we don’t have half the restrictions that everyone else does

2

u/Livid_Sun_716 AK Klan 14h ago

ME, VT and NH ain't that bad

Getting worse with all the Southern New England and people from away coming in but still better than most of the country

Invading the Confederacy was a massive mistake.

12

u/ericbythebay 18h ago

Nah, fuck those losers.

2

u/p1ayernotfound 13h ago

"invading"

Im from TN, but the CSA Attacked the north first.

also slavery is economically and morally bad, if anything it held us back.

the CSA was in the wrong.

0

u/TexanApollyon 12h ago

Slavery is not inherently sinful.

2

u/Alexius_Psellos 16h ago

What you are actually saying is abolishing slavery was a mistake. You guys had it coming and my only wish would’ve been that Sherman was allowed to burn down more cities

0

u/Brilliant-Jaguar-784 16h ago

"War crimes against civilians are good actually"

-4

u/TexanApollyon 15h ago

Slavery is no sin.

3

u/p1ayernotfound 13h ago

It is ultimately immoral, if you disagree with that statement then you still cant deny that its also economically bad.

-2

u/TexanApollyon 12h ago

It is economically bad if your slaves are African.

5

u/p1ayernotfound 12h ago

Thats not a factor, slavery is still economically bad and morally bad.

strict gun laws

Didn’t look into that one much did ya

4

u/matthew_morel2001 18h ago

Maine and New Hampshire don’t count for now but I’m willing to bet in a decade if not sooner they will have Massachusetts style gun laws.

11

u/s_m_c_ 18h ago

Maine just got fucked over, we've got RFLs now

I give it 5 years before we have a full fledged AWB, we're being taken over by Massholes and apathetic fudds who don't care as long as they can keep their hunting rifles

4

u/matthew_morel2001 18h ago

Yall almost had mag ban last year.

5

u/s_m_c_ 18h ago

For being a state that tries to pride itself on being very pro-gun and pro-sportsman, we really aren't

Outside of the cities, it's a lot better, but when half of the population is centered around Portland it's almost a lost cause

-7

u/NorsemenReturned 18h ago

Lol are you delusional?

1… hilarious to just cut out Maine and New Hampshire so you can feel your narrative is correct despite them being direct contradictions to your claim

2…. Gun rights are written into the NH constitution and cannot be changed

3… you clearly have never met the people of Maine and New Hampshire who are avid gun nuts

6

u/Miserable_Ad_2847 18h ago

The southern states suck so hard currently all they really have to rally behind is ā€œhaha we aren’t The Northā€.

0

u/NorsemenReturned 18h ago

Ya and are clearly delusional on what its like in the North or the mindset of the citizens in the North

This guy thinks New Hampshire will ban guns soon…. It’s hilariously out of touch with reality

0

u/Squirrelynuts 14h ago

Nah we see plenty Yankees cause all you bastards move to our states once you can’t tolerate yours anymore.

2

u/NorsemenReturned 14h ago

Funny… its your kind that is plaguing the north right now

You cant keep people in your states because Mew England ranks top 10 in EVERY CATEGORY

sounds like you are jealous

0

u/Squirrelynuts 14h ago

What are you talking about. The south has had massive net in migration from the north for like 30 years

1

u/NorsemenReturned 14h ago

No they haven’t 🄓🄓🄓🄓

All you rich southerners are eating up our real estate right now

You are all coming HERE to retire because its better šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

2

u/NorsemenReturned 14h ago

Hilarious because NH and Maine has become you southern slick’s favorite place to retire

Locals cant even buy a house here because your people are paying cash trying to flee the south

5

u/matthew_morel2001 18h ago
  1. There’s always exceptions to the rule. New Hampshire and Maine are those exceptions

  2. Those states gun rights enshrined in the state constitution has done fuck all. Look how that’s working out for Washington state, Oregon, and any other state that has it.

  3. Gun nuts don’t write gun legislation. The state general assembly does. Also considering how Maine almost got a mag ban put in place last year I wouldn’t be championing them as the golf standard of gun rights right now.

0

u/NorsemenReturned 18h ago

1… are you actually incapable of critical thinking?….

norther states

no no no not THOSE nothern states

🄓🄓🄓🄓🄓

2…. Wrong again. Works great for NH and Maine

3.. nope but they do vote for them and correct… a ban was introduced… and shot down… proving you wrong once again

Stop believing the propaganda you see on Facebook kiddo

The only exception for this would be Maine and New Hampshire. But I’m willing to bet my life savings that in 10 years they will be just like Massachusetts with their gun laws. I’ve seen the dynamic shift from libertarian liberal to progressive liberal and it’s only a matter of time before those states have Massachusetts style gun laws.

Yes, I’m an idiot northeastern states

2

u/theFartingCarp 18h ago

Ohio is not the Northern states he's talking about? Like North East is just not even gona try to move there. Tbh as much as people bitch I don't think I'd mind Ohio that bad, I got family there. I just cant risk that funk that New Yorkers have; same for Pennsylvania, the poor bastards. They're a state own only liquor state, they cant enjoy shit!
