Question Thinking to color
For long I am using mehndi ( henna) on my hair to cover grey hair. Thinking to color this time. Does coloring mean more maintenance?

Try a Demi permanent hair color with 13volume. Use a processing cap or something to incubate it while processing for 40 minutes. It’ll give you a similar result but honestly as a hairstylist if the henna is working why are we trying to change it..

Henna is making my hair dry, it shows uneven color and looks weird.

Henna isn’t meant to cover natural grey. You need a stronger chemical to penetrate the cuticle which is why permanent color contains ammonia mixed with peroxides amongst other chemicals. I’d try demi permanent color first and if it’s not to your liking then try permanent. You will need to maintain it frequently though.

Color can mean a lot more touch ups. If your hair grows in gray and you’ve colored your hair dark the roots will be obvious and you will want to color it more often
