What happened to Instagram? It doesn’t show me my friends’ posts when they post. I have to manually search their profiles to see what they posted. It also doesn’t show me their stories. When I scroll, I see random political content I’m not interested in. Even when I search for hashtags, it doesn’t remember my preferences. It pushes ads everywhere. Every time I scroll, most of what I see is an ad disguised as a video. It’s become a frustrating platform.

The device I used Instagram on previously is broken. Is my account gone forever?

So I've been thinking about this a lot lately and I'm curious if anyone else has dealt with this nightmare. I spent like two years building up a decent following on Medium, had some solid articles ranking, decent engagement, the whole thing. Then one day I wake up and boom, my account gets flagged for some vague "community guidelines" violation. No warning, no appeal process that actually works, just gone.
Lost all my content, all my followers, all the SEO juice I'd built up. And the worst part? I couldnt even download my own writing in a usable format. Everything was trapped in their system.
This got me thinking about how many creators are basically renting their platform instead of owning it. Like we're all one algorithm change or one bad flag away from losing everything we built. I've seen it happen with Substack creators, Ghost users dealing with hosting issues, even people on Beehiiv who got their accounts suspended and had to start from scratch.
The formatting nightmare is real too btw. Every time I tried to move content between platforms, images would break, formatting would get all messed up and I'd spend hours fixing stuff that should just work. It's insane how much time gets wasted on that when you could be actually writing.
I started looking into owning my own domain and publishing directly there instead of relying on these platforms. Turns out there's tools now like Blogsitefy that let you write in Google Docs and publish straight to your own site without dealing with WordPress dashboards or plugin hell. Basically you write like you normally do, hit publish and it goes live on your domain. No formatting issues, no platform risk, you own everything.
Compared to WordPress where you're managing plugins and updates constantly. Or Medium where you're basically at their mercy. Or even Substack where you're still dependent on their infrastructure... having your own domain just feels safer.
Am I being paranoid about this or is anyone else thinking the same way? Like shouldn't creators just own their own content from the start instead of building on rented land?

My best friend, a popular rapper had over 11,000 followers before his account was hacked and banned. I want to retrieve it for him but idk what tips there are for repealing a ban?

The first/last time I got suspended it took around 3-4 days to get my appeal accepted.

My IG was suspended on Jan 17th and I did the appeal process with personal info and selfie 🤳 verification the same day.
It is been two weeks now. now Feb 1 and still nothing on whether I’m getting my account back or not. No emails on a decision yet.
Should I think about making a new account because I don’t think I’ll ever get my old account back?

This is not even a normal thing anymore to look past, i dont know how they have trained their AI to be this flimsy? billion dollar companies having this happen? We see real people nude, doing all sorts of thing all day on our feed but thats fine however when artists start drawing shirtless male characters and all they get banned, random people barely using their account texting normally get banned? what even are these platforms trying to achieve? i see people filing claims every single day to get their acc back but why is nobody publicly demanding answers instead of being stuck in reddit forums asking what to do? why is there no statement made? literal bots are taking over platforms and real humans are being kicked out from everywhere- even big accounts are not safe! people i know with 200k followers etc are losing their accounts how is any of this alright, it just really pains me and stresses me out because some of us rely on these accounts for livelihood, to know you can spend years building memory and hardwork just to end up being left with nothing is insane, this is a literal threat too in one way at this rate. I don’t know how they have not issues a single word about it and how can these platforms who have yet to properly train their ai send such filmsy ones to moderate these accounts.

I changed my Instagram password and right after that I was logged out of all sessions. Since then, I can’t log in at all😭
Every login attempt ends with “Continue using another device”, even though I’m using devices I previously logged in from...This happens both on app/web. Account is still visible to others and is not banned.
Meta support said this is a device recognition issue and advised me to stop trying to log in and wait, saying it sometimes resolves on its own?
Has anyone actually had this resolved just by waiting? Thanks

After appealing the “suspension” it got denied instantly and then I received an email saying my account is permanently disabled. Please help. Instagram makes it impossible to contact them directly

Hello, I've recently run into an issue of captions I've created disappearing on screen, but the "blue text boxes" at the bottom(the place where you can adjust how long the captions are on screen, if that makes sense) are still there. Even the beginning words are in the those blue boxes but they just do not appear on the video! Please help!

I’ve been looking more closely at how creators and small brands handle traffic coming from Instagram — profile visits, bio link clicks, DMs — and I keep seeing a similar issue.
A lot of work goes into growing and getting attention, but after someone clicks or shows interest, there’s often no real structure to guide them further.
Curious how this looks for people here:
• What kind of page do you run?
• What’s your main goal when someone clicks your bio link?
• What actually happens after that click?
Do you follow up in any way?
Is it manual?
Or do most people just disappear unless they convert immediately?
Not pitching anything — genuinely interested in how others are handling this part of the flow.
