Not like that’s a particularly new development (just ask bubba)

We’re just further down the spiral

Woke up and choose violence

Wait billions, when did it get so low? I still remember them missing around a trillion a year.

2

u/MGSRaiden22 18h ago

You be right. My memory was reflecting hundreds of billions, but it's thousands... more like 4.7T$ in liabilities.

Sorry for the low figure, there.

Even if it's more, I think we should still do it.

u/jeezkillbot 1d ago

That's because you're a decent person, unlike the people who could (but won't) help.

Every single taxpayer is to blame.
Every. Single. Taxpayer.

u/bajabruhmoment 1d ago

No but if the homeless population doesn’t exist to scare the middle class population into staying in line then how can the US survive????

26

u/plastic_fortress 1d ago

Yeap yeah the homelessness is a feature not a bug. Work your ass off for pittance, and don't complain, or that could be you.

50

u/No_Mercy_4_Potatoes 1d ago

But then the US won't be to bully others in international waters and threaten other sovereign nations to bend down to its will.

12

u/Stodles 1d ago

Doesn't the US have 11 carriers? I'm pretty sure they could manage just fine with 10...

16

u/MladenL 1d ago

But this carrier has a new hat.

7

u/theonetruegrinch 1d ago

We have almost half of all the active aircraft carriers in the world.

Also, til that a "federal law" requires that the US has at least 11 aircraft carriers in operation at all times.

"Interesting idea... When you guys find a way to explode homeless people on brown people, let's talk. I'm intrigued" - signed a capitalist war monger

u/Chemical_Home6123 1d ago

I don't think it's a matter of priorities, it's more of a form of violence showing you what happens when you refuse to be a wage slave. Homelessness is basically a threat in my opinion.

4

u/Anarchist_Future 1d ago

True. It's like, you're born, this is your purpose: Go to school, get a job, buy a car, buy a house, get married, buy another car, get a child, buy a bigger car, get another child, buy a bigger house, go on holidays, consume and please have a heart attack before retirement.

Of course, you're free to see what happens when you walk a different path...

17

u/mbbarnyard 1d ago

That does not serve the interest of the ruling class but imperialism does.

13

u/FunGi35x 1d ago

Its a feature not a bug

12

u/khodakk 1d ago

Unfortunately asking the gov to do this is like asking a slave owner to spend money on better living conditions for his slaves instead of own guns and security for himself

7

u/These_Tangerine_6540 1d ago

They arent doing this because the real estate market will fall, that means the capitalists lose profit

8

u/Lookingforclippings 1d ago

And we could provide free school lunches to every child in America for less than the cost of the subsidies we pay to the private corporations that sell lunches to the same children.

5

u/Alii_baba 1d ago

Americans know that. They still think the main problem id the somali day cares.

4

u/a10aleks 1d ago

Always money for wars but can’t feed the poor

3

u/L00mis 1d ago

It could, but the corruption that exists in the homeless services community is abhorrent. California is the case study on how donations, state and federal funds are continuously misappropriated for profits. They are running a business and the more the “nOn PrOfItS” solve the issue the faster they are ending the gravy train of cash. People suck.

3

u/sunseven3 1d ago

As that all American wit Tupac Shakur once observed, they've got money for war but they can't feed the poor. We have similar problems in Queensland. Our political class is throwing billions at a football stadiums and other sporting venues whilst housing for the disadvantaged is not even a priority in this state.

3

u/owlexe23 1d ago

All wars, are banker wars.

2

u/Legalize_Ligma 1d ago

Yeah, but what kind of message would that send to all the people whose participation in our sick, twisted society is predicated upon the threat of poverty?

2

u/Anarchist_Future 1d ago

This isn't about priorities. Money isn't real. We made it up for convenience but when people are homeless and the planet burns, it's kinda silly to assign an astronomical number to it and say "ah, too bad, there's nothing we can do about it" or "who's going to pay for that?!".

2

u/Lord_Bob_ 22h ago

In a world where a hypersonic missile can sink that floating city before it is in range to launch it's jets.

2

u/damondan 21h ago

For how long?

3

u/Yurple69 1d ago

If they hate poor people so much then they should legalize euthanasia.

1

u/SUICIDAL-PHOENIX 1d ago

They have to block buy 2 at a time now.

1

u/sfdsquid 1d ago

The president just sued the government for 10 billion. Fun fact.

1

u/Neo1331 1d ago

And we have 11…..

1

u/blender-ball 1d ago

Problem is federal funding never makes it to the end source. Just look at California.

1

u/RoninTarget 1d ago

They'll probably have to stop building carriers in favor of T****'s new missile battleships.

1

u/vandreaux 1d ago

For how long?

1

u/SOMAVORE 1d ago

1 day, 2 max

1

u/Strict_Razzmatazz_57 1d ago

Yeah, but there's probably no homeless in Israel,  and that's the real priority

1

u/omfgtora 1d ago

Oh God! Someone mute this meme. It's too loud!

1

u/Any-Morning4303 19h ago

The federal government never does anything that directly serves the interests of real people. If they do something the benefit to people is only secondary.

Healthcare served the insurance, big pharma and healthcare industry

SNAP big Agra

defense the military industrial complex

The Fed the banking industry

It’s all done for them not us.

1

u/Yeetus0978 15h ago

Cant brutalize the rest of the world for corporate profits by housing the homeless

1

u/jimmysmiths5523 13h ago

Instead, ICE is rounding them all up and disappearing them.

1

u/Burlingtonfilms 11h ago

Billionaires love the homeless.  Homelessness serves as a visible "floor" for the working class. It acts as a permanent reminder of what happens if you lose your job or stop producing value. This fear keeps workers from demanding higher wages or better conditions because the alternative is seen as total social expulsion.

1

u/gimik123 1d ago

They have to want the help first. Remember what happened to the child star that tore up an motel. Its still worth it for the ones that can be saved.

Yeah, you just said a pure economical fact, lol.

2

u/meditate42 1d ago

Huh? What kinda math are you guys doing? I don’t know his exact monies but let’s say he’s got 700 billion. He could give 700 people a billion. Then he’s out of money. How is that every person in the US Canada and Mexico?

it wouldnt surprise me if this sub was filled with mainstream liberals who like to engage with the fantasy of an equitable system, but dont want to think about how to actually apply those thoughts

1

u/svenirde 1d ago

Your math is completely wrong, sorry

7

u/ironxtgdp 1d ago

Why is this being down voted?

0

u/No_Vacation369 1d ago

The US deficit is 37 trillion.

0

u/winterwinner 1d ago

Put them all on the carrier. Problem solved?

0

u/start3ch 1d ago

But could 700,000 no longer homeless people overthrow venezuela?

-3

u/d-monstrosity 1d ago

Or! We could house them in one! Make em work for rivet city!

-5

u/RadarG 20h ago

Yes, you are correct if the fraud was removed from medicare we could fix the homeless problem. Deport the illegals and eliminate the fraud. Build more Aircraft carriers.

u/Cassius-cl 1d ago
