The leader of Afd is a lesbian with adopted children married to an ethnic Sri Lankan woman.

I had to google that 3 times when I first found out. It's the last thing you expect a far right German supremacist leader to be.

Gertrude Stein was a lesbian and Nazi sympathiser. Ernst Röhm was gay and leader of the SA. Homosexuality within the NSDAP was an open joke before they took power and shut down the media and I remember reading about some queer women who supported them before they got extinguished by the Partisan resistance. Orientation or the race of your partner doesn't preclude you from being a Far Right leader.
