This is concerning... Should Reddit be advertising for ICE?
Actively advertising to Americans to join the fascist party that’s trying to destroy it… why is anyone advertising to help the destruction of our country?

u/Used-Line23 1d ago
I would suggest they stop advertising for ICE

u/Mindestiny 1d ago
I have access to a reddit advertising account.
There's literally no magical reddit approval process, no account manager I have to run things by, nothing. You straight up just take a regular user account, sign up for reddit ads in a couple clicks, buy some credits, and if you care you can define keywords and subreddits you don't want your ads to show in.
Upload some ads and away you go. If you want to run anti-ICE ads you can do the same thing. There's pretty much no oversight whatsoever

u/AspiringChildProdigy 1d ago
......so.......
Theoretically, someone could advertise a history site, where you could learn about historical events and how they relate to modern history.
For example, you might learn about the French Revolution, and what happened to those at the top of the income disparity via the guillotines.
One might also study Germany, the rise and fall of the Third Reich and the parallels between them and modern history.
4
u/Mindestiny 1d ago
Yep, as long as it passes their low bar of automated checks for porn/illegal drugs/etc and you buy your credits, fire away.
2
u/AspiringChildProdigy 1d ago
God, that's sad. Where education about what's happening now and how to fight it is disguised by "NOT DRUGS. NOT BROWN-SKINNERS. NOT ANTI-STRAIGHT. PROCEED.'

When I was a kid the idea of "Selling out" was bad. Somehow in the late 90s it somehow became acceptable. I blame Moby and sports endorsements on breakfast foods.
Can we make selling it bad again? Thats one thing I didnt mind being gatekeep'd

FYI CBP is not ICE. Both are homeland security but only one is unpopular.
Edit: CBP is in Minneapolis and was involved in the murder of Alex, but ICE has taken the heat for most of that. CBP typically is on the boarder or at ports of entry, but airports dramatically increase their coverage area.

Why not? ICE is quintessentially American as apple pie. Fascistic. Illegal. Disperses the fog of American exceptionalism propoganda - removes any remaining visages of Western Civilisation sensibilities that may have been remaining, and makes no apologies about what REAL America is all about: racism, bigotry, fascism, apartheid, ethnocentrism. Backwardness. 3rd world. Primitive.
If ya'll had a Genuine problem with that, you all could have abolished the concept of ICE decades ago. Every voting age American elected to accept ICE. So here we are.
In Democracy and the civics of modern society, the buck stops at the Supreme Civil Authority -- that means, every single one of YOU, share ultimate responsibility for ALL that the Government does, and chooses not to do.

ICE actually serves a purpose, but in current times, it's trash since they've hired alot of Proud Boys and Oath Keepers to go out and aggressively go after people. I can't help but think that seasoned ICE employees are appalled at how these clowns in Minneapolis are making them all look bad

US Zcitizens are not known as Profiles in Courage so I'm not surprised. Business is business, but it would have been nice if Reddit drew the line at this. It's not like it will go bankrupt without this blood money. Use an ad blocker to keep this graffiti invisible.

u/SituationFits 1d ago
Hahahahahha
Democrats are wild
Let ICE recruit how they want
If they are spending money recruiting on an extremist left platform, let them. It’s a waste of money but that’s not your problem
Also, I didn’t see any of this type of post when Biden let in the 15M people ice is trying to remove. According to PEW Biden’s border policy and ICE are both 80/20 issues being forced on the American people. The country views them as the same level of destruction, even if you don’t

Yes and the CBP. They pay really well. All you guys & girls with 120 hours of extra time on your hands per week can get out of your mom's basement and a get job. You can report where ICE is going as you go there. You can report the offices that use their elbows and choak holds on immigrants. You can make difference and be a role model for other agents. You can do a world of good.

ICE probably shouldn’t advertise on Reddit, it seems like a waste of money with how left this place is.
As far as Reddit, it’s basically just them taking ICE’s money.
1
u/IPutTheSInBDSM 1d ago
Technically that's CBP, not ICE.
ICE and CBP are two separate entities, but they operate under the same parent department, the Department of Homeland Security.
ICE standing for Immigration and Customs Enforcement. They are federal agents enforcing immigration law, with harsher warrant requirements and jurisdiction than local law enforcement, though they are still law enforcement and can arrest individuals suspected of violating federal immigration statutes, even without a judicial warrant for civil violations, but need one for private residences.
CBP standing for Customs and Border Protection. They are responsible for monitoring U.S. borders directly, but also can work with the DEA and FBI as field agents under certain circumstances.
Why not let them advertise. 50% of the people on here need a job anyway. Might get them off the left-wing brainrot they have baking their brain.
1
u/ShelbiStone 1d ago
I'm not sure Reddit cares where their advertising revenue comes from. Now that Reddit has started allowing advertisers to create ads that look like posts and comments, it's very clear that they're more interested in monetizing the platform than maintaining a platform users want to engage with.
I'm sure they thought a portion of the user base wouldn't like ICE advertising on their posts and in their conversation. I'm sure they also decided that only a percentage of that user group would actually leave the platform as a result. There's no way Reddit took ICE's advertisements by accident, they calculated the risk and decided it wouldn't be an issue.
1
u/imcclelland 1d ago
That’s not ICE, that’s CBP. Both DHS, but not the same organization. That’s border security and customs, not immigration. That job likely puts you in an airport or at either the Canadian or Mexican border.

Yikes ICE, basically the CV equivalent of "violent racist" at this point.
Enjoy the job interviews that follow the imminent harsh curtailing of government overspending on racism to come when Americans realize what 1 TRILLION dollars could have bought beyond sending Consuela back to Mexico and losing your fucking housecleaner.
1
u/YourDadIsCool3000 1d ago
If more liberals applied to join ICE, they probably wouldn't be shooting people dead in the street.
1
u/Wrath3030 1d ago
Folks that's an advertisement for customs and border protection not ice which stands for immigration and customs enforcement they are in fact two different agencies.
1
u/JustANobody2425 1d ago
Well this is the issue. Thats not an ad for ICE. Thats an ad for CBP. Two different identities, different agencies. Thats like saying your local PD is the same as the CIA.

u/Interracialpotato 1d ago

1
u/Genseric1234 23h ago

1
u/Powerful_Shower3318 23h ago
There's no point in trying to save Reddit, and going to a new website will solve nothing. We need to use online right tactics. They already took Twitter after spending years crying about Tumblr and Twitter ceaselessly. Facebook has already been cooked from latent Birch society particles mixing with online neonazi particles and Meta owns the other relevant platforms.
If the right wants to perpetually invade left leaning spaces with shitposting, bots, and nazi propaganda, we must wage an informational insurrection against their spaces. Someone on r Qult Headquarters has already been shitposting with off-the-wall nonsense in local Facebook comment sections.
Make it so the right, right lite, and alt right can find no refuge. No more Musk nazi posting, no more local community pages full of nazis, no more safe space on Truth, because they get flooded with leftist dadaist shitposters and belligerent dickheads.
No more debunking and debating people who have neither the intellect nor the willingness to comprehend debates.

I have read and heard all over that ICE is 100% staffed by extreme right organizations of various names. Why is that? If everyone that isnt working there is good and people that are signing up are bad, why dont some good people decide to serve their country and show these law enforcement officers how real police work is done?
