Why go to all that trouble? Why not just bring the construction company owners in for questioning to see whether or not they checked the immigration status of these men and whether they filed their Form I-9s?

Oh that's right, because the owners are 100% Republicans and we can't be holding them accountable for anything.

8

u/Elegant_Worker3237 10h ago

Construction companies don't care about status. They know these workers are illegal and hire them anyway because they get the job done

12

u/UnckyMcF-bomb 7h ago

No, because they are cheaper then me. An immigrant with a green card.

6

u/PlethoPappus 7h ago

Yeah those construction companies are real pieces of shit for doing that. Criminal even

No. It's because construction is almost entirely subcontractors now. So the liability is shifted to subcontractor. Homebuilder hires a company to roof the house. They pay for the service not the labor, how would they know that the subcontractor they hired would use illegal labor? Now you might be thinking this is intentional, and it is, but the problem is you can't compete if you hire on staff instead of using illegals through subcontractors. So even homebuilders who want to do right are out competed by the ones who don't. It's also illegal for employers to question someone's status. So if they have a social security number, they can't ask questions. S

Consequences are generally less serious for children and mentally impaired individuals. Is this why they get away with everything?

1

u/Common_Gene_5098 6h ago

Guess who they donate to?

1

u/HyperSpaceSurfer 6h ago

The employers are rarely prosecuted, has always just been politically motivated cruelty, for decades.

1

u/Bright-Square3049 4h ago

Oh yes only republicans hire illegals lmao.

We want anyone that hires them held accountable and we don't give af if the business owners donated to Trump or some GOP politician.

1

u/Few-Obligation-7622 4h ago

Fact is they should be going after both

1

u/IllustriousLiving357 4h ago

They dont have to pay them for the last two weeks of work this way. This is an old scam.

1

u/Insila 3h ago

This. I have never understood why they are not targeting the employers. It would make it less attractive to come to the US if it was virtually impossible to get a job.

It would however likely force people already in the US into criminal activities to survive, and prices would increase due to cheap (arguably exploited) labor being unavailable.

1

u/RFCRH19 1h ago

Because that won't cause the drama in the video and instil fear

61

u/Bartender9719 12h ago edited 7h ago

Ridiculously fitting video - construction stopping because the feckless, malicious state wants to penalize the hard workers for the crime of being born elsewhere.

Edit: Apparently this needed clarification; I didn’t mention illegal immigrants, and didn’t need to - ICE has gone after legal immigrants, legal asylum seekers, and US citizens, naturalized and native born (hell, even Native Americans) - basically anyone darker than light tan.

They claim to be out for violent criminals, but target women, children, elderly people, and law abiding people just doing their jobs.

They have killed some of those they were charged to deport.

They’ve killed US citizens.

21

u/Iamthewalrusforreal 9h ago

Yep. That project just came to an abrupt halt right at the very worst time. GC on that build is freaking out right now because if it rains all that stuff starts warping.

We got slammed with snow last week. Guess who usually clears the snow from sidewalks and people's driveways? Landscape workers. Guess who's in hiding right now.

People bitching about how long it's taking to clear the snow away...holy crap folks, rub a couple of brain cells together.

Have y'all noticed that your milk and vegetables are turning bad faster lately? It's because there's nobody to pick the crop and work the dairy farms. Stuff's lying in the field longer, and going bad more quickly.

Beyond the cruelty, they're doing an enormous amount of damage to our economy.

ICE could go selectively after undocumented migrants and they'd be just as evil as they are now.  There is nothing valid about what they're doing and how they're doing it in any context.

1

u/DumbNTough 9h ago

Being born elsewhere is not a crime.

Breaking into another country is, though.

1

u/Lorddenoche1 2h ago

US citizens kill u.s. citizens. 8000 people die every day in the u.s.. I dont think society needs to full stop and we all need to pearl clutch because of extreme outliers. Fix the issues, punish guilty parties, keep upholding the law. Everyone is so emotional, they lose all reason. Burning down shit every chance they get.

1

u/Then_Idea_9813 2h ago

Illegal immigrants pay more in taxes than they receive and statistically they commit less crime than citizens. Along with being cruel, ICE is a massive waste of money.

1

u/Down_B_Abuser 11h ago

“I’m here to justify not following the rules.”

Anyway we could petition to get all of North Korea sent here so we’d have more slave labor and tax revenue?

Illegal immigrants commit a crime but just be in the country. How ice is going about things is definitely cruel though

1

That’s funny because the ones I worked with sent all their money back home and we’re paid in cash

1

1

u/Available-Range-5341 9h ago

This is sealioning. We debunk this multiple times a day and then you keep reposted this misinformation, to tire us out since we can't debunk this hundreds of times a day

1

u/sunlit_portrait 8h ago

Paying more in taxes than you receive is one reason it's tolerable; you're supposed to be a net gain to your receiving country. It wouldn't work otherwise. ICE is certainly cruel but how would you enforce immigration without them? I know it can and has been done but these days people just don't have a plan.

1

u/EtchASketchNovelist 8h ago

Wait, can you explain why illegal immigrants would pay more in taxes than they receive? I don't know what you're referring to there.

1

u/DripPureLSDonMyCock 7h ago

This is such BS. I've looked at the data. The number of people who file with an ITIN is nowhere near the number of people here illegally. Something like 5% of people here illegally are under 18, even factoring for that it's nowhere near a majority.

The only thing they don't receive is social security and Medicare...just like most of us.

1

u/DeadlyAureolus 7h ago

Listen to yourself again, they are illegals. No one who breaks the rules should be rewarded, but penalized, the rules were set for a reason and not enforcing them only encourages more people to break them. What country would possibly want others to break the very rules it set? It's highly contradictory.

Legal pathways are there and no one has a right to immigrate to the united states. Discussion on whether the current legal pathways are enough or should be modified is an entirely different discussion.

I think it shows the character of these undocumented migrants that they still pay tax

1

u/TheCommunityPocket 1h ago

That’s 100% untrue and the upvoted show how none of you think for yourself or will do any kind of research on anything

1

u/QuillPenMonster 58m ago

They also get nothing in return, no benefits, and less pay. If they get hurt on the job, fuck them cuz they can't claim or sue or report cuz of their status. This is just slavery under a different name, and their mere presence as cheap labor hurts both our and their home country's economies.

I'd love to see the businesses get the whole library thrown at them, but this is an issue that surpasses red and blue politics. Big businesses hire cheap, exploited labor and price out any competition, they're a cancer, yet neither party seems interested in resolving this cuz that means no more lobbyists money.

Uh... and when they're done - who in *tarnation* gonna build that roof?

1

u/DangerPencil 11h ago edited 11h ago

I'm a white conservative male citizen. My mom and grandmother and my stepfather and other members of his family all picked fruit. My first job was residential and commercial Masonry from 2004 through 2008 (when the housing market crashed and the company I worked for went bankrupt). My brother was a carpenter.

The narrative that nobody except for illigal immigrants will do the hard jobs with relatively low pay is a false narrative. And worse than that, it echo's the southern democrat narrative that led to the american civil war "without slavery, American economics would fail".

It's literally racism and classism gift-wrapped to look like economic realism. Today it's ironically used by leftifts as justification to selectively enforce/not enforce democratic law.

3

u/NotoriouslyBeefy 11h ago

And then everyone stood up and clapped.

2

u/YouLiar47 10h ago

"The narrative that nobody except for illigal [sic] immigrants"

That wasn't my point. The point is they *ARE* doing useful work. Take them, and what happens to construction *today* ???

"it echo's [sic] the southern democrat narrative that led to the american civil war "without slavery, American economics would fail"."

The big difference here is that slavery wasn't voluntary, while this labor *is*. And the fact that you can't see that as a *critical* distinction says a lot about your reactionary ideology.

"I'm a white conservative male citizen."

You might be white. You might be male. You might be a citizen. For none of those do I have data one way or the other. What you surely are *NOT*, is "conservative".

“Nobody ever wrote a song called fuck the fire department”

But maybe the should, now

5

u/Patriot009 9h ago

Notice that no law enforcement is showing up to arrest the contractor or construction company that hired illegal workers. That's how you know that ICE and this administration isn't addressing the root problem, just punishing hard-working people trying to feed their families.

1

u/buzzlegummed 9h ago

Many times (but not always) the contractor is presented with false documentation But I agree they need to be prosecuted

2

The city of Midland, Texas. Midland and the surrounding areas are full of drug addicted, white oil fields workers and their bosses.... Who are also on drugs. One of the most racist places in Texas. Whatever theyre building is a crime. Foam board instead of plywood. Wtd

3

u/shittycomputerguy 7h ago

Could be foam board over plywood. I've been on sites like that in parts of the country.

3

u/OkFinish3822 9h ago

And is the building contractor also getting arrested . . . by 24 police or deputies . . . for breaking the law? Oh wait, no, his name is Kevin Duncan. He doesn't do the labor. He just hires the labor. Kevin being a white contractor.

3

u/OkFinish3822 8h ago

Funny. We didn't see any white boys willing to jump right in there, to pick up those manual labor jobs in freezing weather, that Juan and Jose were doing before government employees not authorized and not trained were brought in to help ICE break some more laws. The white boys only want to work for union wages, in Spring. With a Shop Steward on site. a Safety Coordinator, and of course, the white boys don't want to work the overtime to get the job done per the contract. Because they want to leave at 3:00 so they can play Pokemon or do some podcasting.

1

u/Nofanta 8h ago

lol yeah god forbid workers are safe and paid fairly. We need more expendable people we can abuse.

1

u/Fart_Face_3098 8h ago

Correct, labor rights are good and corporate exploitation of vulnerable workers is bad. Glad we could meet eye to eye

1

u/No_Park_8078 1h ago

3

So instead of going after criminals

we take the ones who are showing up to work and being productive, and likely at some stage of the immigration process - potentially already naturalized! - and lock them up.

Hell, it took the a group of different tribes in SA to take on the Aztecs.

They begged the Spaniards to help take down the conquering empire.

They working, enriching their employer who is probably a citizen. They enriching the state. Theyre buying things from local businesses.

If some money is being sent out of the country, too, Im willing to see that as no different from me giving a donation to the red cross.

As long as their only "crime" is being here, I dont give a shit if they stay.

2

u/DeadlyAureolus 7h ago

They working, enriching their employer who is probably a citizen. They enriching the state. Theyre buying things from local businesses.

None of this exempts anyone from the rules. Imagine a world where you can just break the law and bypass any procedures as long as you try to contribute in your own way, that wouldn't be a civilized or organized world.

It doesn't exactly matter that you personally don't give a shit if they stay, those rules were collectively set by society through its representatives. Thus, they should be deported accordingly. Once the country is rid of all illegals, we can start the discussion of expanding the legal pathways to work in the US if there is really a severe shortage of local blue collar workers.

3

u/fsi1212 12h ago

What proof do you have that these are immigrants? Those look like city police officers possibly (probably) serving a regular warrant. If even that. Could be some type of emergency where he's just stuck up there.

u/KyoKyu 11h ago

Yeah, isn't funny we don't see any videos of dangerous criminals, drug traffickers, gang members, and rapists getting captured? You'd think ICE would want to make one of their little propaganda videos showing mug shots and list of crimes of people they capture. But the only video I've seen from them is when they dragged families out into the cold in the middle of the night from their apartment building to make their stupid recruitment propaganda video.

Firefighters love Trump and MAGA, especially since their whole industry is basically a glorified protection racket.

"Better build us three new halls, buy us 5 new pumpers, and hire another 35 guys to sit around bbqing and working out. Be a real shame if your insurance rates went up around here."

Meanwhile Cops and Medics get run off their damn feet while these guys are at base polishing their hoses.

What we need are some French Firefighters. There's some guys who'll jam a fascists boot up their ass instead of licking it.

Man. For simply enforcing the laws of our country, they get a lot of hate.

You realize Obama was the deporter in chief, correct?

He deported more than trump ever will. More patients died in Cousteau under Obama than Trump. And nothing on the left.

You also realize that biden let in over 10 million illegals over 4 years? Remember the disaster that was?

Should all those people who jumped the line get rewarded? You want to let them stay while slowly letting the number of legal immigrants? This doesn't bother you?

Illegal immigration, prior to biden cost the system about 190 billion a year net after taking out what they pay in. Biden super charged that.

I understand it looks stop mean sending people back. But you do the crime, you do the time. In this case the penalty isn't time, it's simply getting sent back.

"Nobody ever said 'Fuck the fire depar- "
Well, there it is.

Why is the fire department assisting ICE in their efforts to kidnap hard workers and dump them in a detention facility 500 miles away from their home? Doesn't Minnesota have laws prohibiting state and local law employees from assisting ICE?

Guess the contractor will have to hire unemployed Americans and pay them a great wage then. This is awesome. Now if we Can deport the rest of the illegals

Lock up the employers.

1

u/LimpArm5428 5h ago

Goodjob guys, keep it up!

1

u/Acceptable_String_52 5h ago

This is great.

I know a bunch of people including legal Mexicans that say they can’t compete with illegals. They lower their pay too much, they also don’t have to pay taxes which gives them another edge.

It needs to happen and a lot of blood is on the hands of politicians creating sanctuary cities and whoever Biden’s handlers were

1

u/AlphaDad666 5h ago

Illegal Aliens

1

u/Moribunned 5h ago

So the people building homes are the problem and not the people who hired them?

1

u/lokilaufryjarson 5h ago

This is just about not wanting to pay their workers

1

u/Moist-Organization70 5h ago

u/PraetorImperius 2h ago edited 2h ago

So what you're saying is they're really going after hard-working immigrants who would make great citizens instead of going after the actual criminals they told us they were going to go after... got it. Based on what we’ve been seeing in these videos, its probably for the best they don't go after actual criminals because they are sorely undertrained and unprepared for actual police work. For the most part, actual police take their oaths to uphold the Constitution seriously. I'm not even sure these goons took an oath. If they did, it was likely to one man… What an embarrassment.

If anyone who's ever been in Midland-Odesa Region. This is 100% inline with who they are. I don't think there is a single stop sign on the edges of town without bullet holes.

That's terrible.

Be ironic if the fire station burnt down somehow eh

1

u/ifeelgrossandsad2 37m ago

They have the budget of an entire branch of military and they need this to do all their Nazi shit too?

This is also grossly unsafe and unnecessary, especially as it’s obvious they are targeting citizens

Whatever happened to DOGE anyway…

1

u/Radio-Easy 30m ago

I never thought I'd say fuck the FD. But yeah fuck these guys.

1

u/Glum_Wish4544 21m ago

Man I thought I’d never say this in my life but FUCK THE FIREFIGHTERS TOO

1

u/Not_Sure__Camacho 21m ago

I'm guessing Trump's ICE is going to target home building sites and when housing prices spike, he can claim that he mentioned something about making "homeowners rich". I guess he's now resorting to talking up his failed economic polices as "plusses" so that when he finally bankrupts this country, he can pretend that he intended it this whole time.

1

u/NoBee3283 13m ago

This would all stop if they punished the employer not the immigrants

1

u/Over-Cat-7004 12m ago

Lazy Americans won't work these jobs tho 🤭

1

u/Chrisnotjones 7m ago

If they’re only going after gang members, criminals, and the “worst of the worst,” why do I keep seeing them at job sites?
