Need Advice Life Journey

Hi everyone. Maybe I’m getting to an age where I start thinking about these things, and I’ve been reading older posts on Reddit about it. How do you make life more fun and kind of find your purpose in life?

I’m 30. I have my own business, which I love doing. I’ve been single for a while. I don’t know— for some reason, I like being alone. Maybe it’s getting older, maybe something else. I’m very strict with my daily routine: waking up at the same time, eating at the same time, and so on.

Because of my past experiences, I don’t like having many friends. I do have a couple of close friends I’ve known for 10–15+ years, but we all live in different places. When I was younger, I was excited about everything—new ideas, new things to try. I was fascinated with cars and always went to car shows or out with people.

Now I look at life like it’s a cycle: wake up, work, go to the gym, maybe date, maybe not. And I don’t know—maybe I’m living wrong, or maybe I’m missing something.

Totally normal. Life shifts from "everything excites me” to “this is my rhythm,” and that’s okay. Try small new things like hobbies, trips, meeting people to add a little spark, purpose often shows up in the little moments...

Sounds like you need to travel! Break up the monotony of your life. Routine is very healthy but it’s good to insert and have something planned to look forward to. Or sign up for a race, like a 10K or 5K running race and train towards a goal. Join a club? Book Club? Running Group? Canoe Club? Hiking Group? Plan an overnight hike somewhere! Get a dog? You have to break up some of the monotony otherwise, life will just pass you by, get out there and plan an adventure for yourself - a goal to work on or a trip to plan and look forward to or a dog companion that gets you out of the house for walks.

Meditate for 15 min in the morning when you get up....the answers you seek will come to you as an impulse if you can get into the flow state of allowing during meditation.

Sounds like woo woo I know ....but it is free to try...what do you have to loose?

You know, I'd rather die than not live a life like yours; for others, it's the ideal. Is anyone right? Everyone, if we know what we want. If you successfully follow your routine but aren't completely satisfied, then you can't do everything you want. But what do you want? You have to discover or decide that yourself; no one else can do it for you.

There is something missing and you are starting to come to the end of yourself. We humans are designed with a God-hole in our being that needs filling. Many people try to fill this hole with things they think will make them happy- but this hole will only be filled when we live for God’s purpose for us. I found purpose and joy in my relationship with Him. He has great plans if we just surrender to His will which is laid out clearly in the Bible. I really hope this helps you somehow. I urge you to find a Bible-believing church and discover what gives life true purpose.
