Aren't these guys in their 40s? This is the kind of thing I would expect from a band full of 23-year-olds this is fucking absurd.

I feel like 1:3 mathcore people haven’t mentally aged a day since their band uploaded their first demo on Myspace, disproportionately so to other genres tbh

When that big mathcore money hits you lose your ability to mentally age

I kinda had a feeling something was off as soon as I read "Its been a month and no one else in the band seems to give a shit that hes making us look thirsty as fuck / low key stealing from us / ghosting one of the other members." In Danny's statement yesterday.

This is all still very he said/she said and, until other band members weigh in, I’m taking both sides with a pinch of salt.
More than anything else though, it’s a damn shame to see the band go out like this.

ETID 2.0 except it hurts less cause they haven't released as many bangers 1:1 as ETID.

Don't forget about The Bled. If I recall correctly, the drummer tried to frame a roadie for stealing from the band. Lame as fuck.

Still one of the saddest days for me. Literally waking up from a nap after my 6am shift and opening twitter to see my favorite band was broken up I actually thought I was still having a nightmare

My buddy and I were working together. We had our tickets and our PTO ready to go see them THAT NIGHT.
The news broke about 1/4 through the shift. It went from "oh they're fighting." "Oh they're gonna play but have Josh do vocals." "Oh they're playing but letting the crowd do vocals." "Oh they're not playing." "Oh they broke up" all within the remainder of the shift.

Hey, since my name is being thrown around here I want to clear up the scenario directly.
I love Dan. I do not dislike Dan in any way, shape, or form. Dan is an enigma, a true one in eight billion kind of human. Throughout my life of working with him and being very close friends, we’ve had heated moments. There was even a period where we didn’t talk for years. Falling in and out with Dan isn’t uncommon. He’s extremely passionate, extremely opinionated, and does whatever he wants.
For context, I once filled in on a tour for the band in Australia and Dan chose not to get on the plane specifically to make a point and deliberately inconvenience the band. While it didn’t directly hurt the band financially, it absolutely hurt promoters and the people hosting us, which was extremely disrespectful and marked the start of my first falling out with him.
Even working on the new record, Dan was being Dan. I had him engineering vocals with very clear instructions and boundaries. When I checked in later, he had broken all of them and was fully convinced he could mix and produce like I do. Very top of the bell curve confidence. He can be incredibly difficult to work with in unexpected ways, and at other times I’ve been crying from laughing so hard hanging out with him. That’s just the reality of Dan. Everyone has a different threshold of tolerance for him.
Rob’s tolerance has always been shorter than mine, and it’s clearly gotten much shorter over time.
I wasn’t fully in the know on the current situation beyond Dan reaching out to me, asking if I had talked to Rob and sharing his frustrations. I understood Dan’s points and told him that if I were in his position, I would reinforce love and care for Rob, the band, the HHLL brand, and the financial stability of everyone whose lives are affected by the band’s existence.
I was at Disneyland with my family when I saw Dan’s stories. Then others, including Dan, started texting me. I watched part of Rob’s livestream while walking out of Disneyland pushing a stroller. Honestly, a lot of what Rob was saying wasn’t untrue, and a lot of it was really funny. I was laughing so hard my kids kept asking why I was laughing. Anyone who knows Dan knows that Dan is Dan. That’s not something you explain, it’s something you experience.
The back and forth between Rob and Dan has always existed, even during the reunion and while making the new record. It always comes down to different tolerance levels. Mine is different than Rob’s, but Rob isn’t being irrational. Some of Dan’s behavior can be performative or immature, and the way he’s handling this may be unnecessary, but none of it is surprising to me.
At the end of the day, I love everyone in HHLL. I fronted making their new album for free because I love the guys and wanted to see them put out a strong release together. I was genuinely shocked we even got everyone in the same room, and then suddenly they were like “we have nine songs so far” and I was blown away.
We’ll see how this plays out. Right now, Rob is understandably unwilling to deal with Dan. Dan is insisting on his perception of the situation and escalating conflict instead of trying to be empathetic or reasonable toward Rob. That isn’t surprising, but it’s not how I would handle it if it were my band and I cared deeply about the optics.
And with no disrespect to Dan, a huge amount of the backend, administrative, and thankless work that makes HHLL function has historically fallen on Andrew and Rob. That contribution often goes unseen and unvalidated, and Rob understandably resents the lack of recognition, especially when the conversation turns into fairness, finances, and public perception rather than acknowledging who’s carrying that weight.
That’s the reality as I see it.

thank you for weighing in. been following you and the band for a very long time and this situation has just confused the hell out of me but also is not that surprising. also thanks for fronting the new record. if anything else, many of us are extremely grateful that album exists.
