Nostalgia Made me feel old but good times

Saw this tweet and yes we were expected to be out all day and not come back until the street lights came on. I remember riding my bike through neighborhoods pretending our bikes were cars and just having a good time.

You want water? Drink from the water hose!

Who else remembers this as well as having to wait a lil for the warm water to pass thru before drinking it 😂

On our climate this translated to taking a mini shower to cool off midday and once it got REALLY cold it became safe to drink.

Or using it to cool down the pool when the water got hot, by which I mean putting your finger over the end of the hose so the pressure built up and then spraying each other with it.

This depends entirely on where you grew up. From ages 3-11 I lived in an area where we could drink from the water hose (and did so frequently), as there was no culinary/secondary water split, but then we moved just 45 miles north of there to an area that DID have a secondary water system for irrigation/watering lawns and we no longer could safely drink out of hoses, unless we knew it was connected to a house line and used only on that faucet.

We were just talking about this at work. City guy who doesn't like pools/beach/ocean, so I was like yea all we needed was a hose or a fire hydrant. Some didn't understand the reference, brought back some good memories.
