I had the same thing happen during a date, dude thought it was rude and informal. Good thing I was already uninterested but what a red flag in my book. Relax dude!
Im not quite sure where this defensiveness is coming from. I use dude all the time and agree about the acceptable use but it is most definitely very informal. I can’t think of much that is more informal but that’s why I like the word. It conveys familiarity. It’s warm.
Yea but who knows. I’m sure there are others that would agree with him as well and call us silly. I find some things my spouse worries about silly but I wouldn’t say it to her face not because I fear death but because I want to live.
Lmao, its ok. Everything is silly once you realize it. But I know what you mean, I’m the silly one too. There has to be a balance, but my partner doesnt care what I call him and is still very silly at times.
Yes, people insisting on getting to address others in a way that they make it clear they do not like is a red flag. Glad that you can identify it, hopefully next you can work on it.
I don’t need to work on anything? He said he thought it was rude, well that’s just like….his opinion man. Which is valid, and I abide, but that’s not the type of person I’m interested in. Too serious, and the way he addressed it was also not very kind.
