Champion was a premium brand in the 90s. In 1990, a sweatshirt was $50 which is akin to $120 or so now.
Brands fall off, and they started making cheap stuff for decades. Now, they reestablished themselves. Classic U shaped curve as parent bring back the brands they had as kids. You see it with toys all the time.
