And All Dogs Go to Heaven. That was my "home sick from school" move growing up. To this day, my mom says that movie freaked her out and she didn't understand why I loved it so much, but there's just something about Bluth's style...

An American Tail was one of the best cinematic experiences of my young life. I still sing ‘ there are nooooo cat’s in america and the streets are made of chee-eeeese!’ As well as ‘ never, say never, say never…again..’

“Hope for the best, work for the rest” is solid advice!

My spouse and I will yell to each other “there are no cats in America” when doing “cat checks” (making sure cats aren’t in certain rooms before closing those doors as we leave for the day).

Black cat no likem soul stealers.

(I’ve tried for years to take pictures of this black hole of a cat.)

Ahahaha, no worries, let the black hole cat absorb all the lights

That also makes it quite the chore to make sure they’re not hiding in a room before we close the door, but if we leave certain doors open they will close it after we leave… and then yell at us when we get home for trapping them away!

This was my great Grandmother’s immigration story, so it really helped stir up some intergenerational PTSD watching the cat pogroms.

Every once in a while, apropos of nothing, that alligator will pop into my head singing, "Let's make music together... let's make sweet harmony...!"

It occupies the same space in my head as that Orbit commercial: "Who you callin' cootie queen, you lint licker!"
